Cole Palmer played for Manchester City and was decent against deep blocks, double markers and under pressure but he was a rotational player. Palmer in a team where he doesn't even have a marker, he doesn't face deep blocks and doesn't have any pressure and he looks better than he is. Simple as that. My question is, it Palmer was THAT good, I mean on level with Saka or Foden, why has no UCL clubs bid for him?
This is how you know Saka's always been held to a different standard. A couple seasons ago Arsenal fans said Bukayo Saka was world class and better than Mo Salah (at the time was poor), everyone cried that he had to do it in the UCL, he had to face deep blocks, he had to do this, he had to do that and every time he completed an objective another would appear (it was the same with Rashford). The same standards weren't held for Palmer, Foden or in fact anyone except Saka.
Palmer is only 21 yrs...this is his first season playing constantly...of course no UCL club would bid for him at his time with mancity...context is everything
Tbf Palmer is that good but for me what's funny is everyone who burst into the scene is compared to Saka that should pretty much say a lot. We've had Kulusevski, CHO, Greenwood(who was very good if I'm being honest) can name quite a lot. For me till now only Foden has been a really worthy shout

Playing saka at left back does make sense. We don’t have one for starters, saka has played there. He’ll be able to push forward, pretty much as an attacker so he can overlap foden. U also get palmer on the pitch. Next game is also Slovakia, how much attacking are they gonna be doing. Plus kobbie & rice along with the other 3 defenders should be plenty. I’d defo consider it. At least til shaw can get fully fit.

If we got Olise, I don’t think we would be going for Dewsbury-Hall because Palmer would’ve been playing as the attacking 8 (I think). Without Olise, Palmer mainly stays on the right, DH as the 8, Enzo at the base dictating play (as he did under Potter extremely well, a period that everyone seems to have forgotten), and Caicedo playing the role Ndidi played (similar to how Sarri used Kante to win balls higher up the pitch). Lavia will be back up to Enzo. It’s really nowhere near as complicated as people make it seem. Santos can be a rotational option for any of the midfield positions.
