    Some updated info:
    Heavy Duty Gimbal L Bracket for RS2 RS3 Shoulder Rig Mounting. “The Creator” Sony FX3 Octopus Rig Style.
    Available now on motionpicturehardware.com
    According to Oren via VLFV live, the VND Filter used was the Urth 77mm Variable ND ND2-32 amzn.to/3PZsWav
    Thanks to @ahmedsamir7582 for pointing out the Arri connectors are Kondor Blue Quick Release Arri mounts.
    Also according to Oren, they also used IronGlass lenses on the drone, plate, POV and hologram shots.
    According to Greig they also used the Sony FX9 when they went to Pinewood to shoot on the volume wall.
    Apologies for Oren on misspelling his last name in the video!
    Feel free to comment any tidbits you have learned below!

      @@maybejensen This may be due to the fact they were almost constantly on a 75mm Kowa anamorphic lens which actually only covers a Super 35 sensor. My guess is neither the lens nor the filter would vignette because at 75mm even a Super35 lens works on Full Frame.

      Hey yes you are right. You would be surprised! One doesn’t need a lens support as much as you may be lead to believe IMO. The Kowa was also chosen for its light weight which means it shouldn’t need a support. I use a DZO Pictor Zoom with a 6K Pro on my RS3 Pro which is very heavy with no lens support. 👍🏿🤙🏿

    hi! great breakdown. one tiny correction - HDMI has to go to Atomos NINJA first, because RAW has to be decoded to regular HDMI signal and VAXIS can't do that. I think that is what you said - it goes to VAXIS first, if not i misunderstood you. In one of the pictures you can see that NINJA has HDMI output cable inserted and that one goes to VAXIS as it's now decoded from RAW.

    • @ODHunte

    Thanks for the video! I am building my own version of this rig but for one man operation. They must have used a focus puller with a Nucleus? Would the focus puller also operate the VND? Or was one of the motors the RS2 motor operated by the gimbal dial? Also, thanks for pointing out the pass through coms on the Advanced handle. I was wondering how I was going to get control from 2 separate handles!

    • @ODHunte
      @ODHunte  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      lol.. so many tricky things with this rig.
      I don’t know for sure as not read as yet but I’ll ask when I can.. but I believe they had a focus puller and they would have undoubtedly controlled the ND too. They had a comms system where Gareth was speaking to everyone doing a running commentary and that would inform them what they had to do in terms of moves apparently. Good luck with the rig build! How is that going ?

I am playing with mouting locations to get the balance as good as possible. I will be moving the ninja and testing with the expansion base instead of using the battery brip. Not sure what I will end up with. I do mostly automotive media so getting low shots will be the priority of this setup. Gears are just a case of knowing the diameter of the VND and attaching a gear with the same internal diameter I believe. Always handy to have a set of vernier callipers..

    There is not image of the rig from the operator side. I'm trying to figure out how they were able to use the TILTA BACK HANDLE with the top control and still support that much weight on the Gimbal. It is an incredible amount of stress to put on the joint with only the battery mount connecting to the Gimbal. The attachment comes with a stabilizing arm which works great if you are only using a dummy suitcase top handle, but they are showing the SMART TILTA BACK HANDLE with a joystick and focus wheel. This unit connects on BOTH sides of the GIMBAL and renders the the support arm included with the small rig attachment useless as it no longer lines up with the connection. So how did they do it? Do you have access of the image from the other side? Going crazy here. Thank you!

    • @ODHunte
      @ODHunte  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Can’t find an image from the side. I would say as long as you keep the lever locked it’s not a problem. I have a very heavy system and no issues with it.

  • @AINEET
    @AINEET 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Here's what's been keeping me up: because of the handle they are using, it's impossible that they used the safety piece that comes with the power base to grip it to the stabilizer. I've built something similar and I wanna get that same handle but this is stopping me from buying it because it seems very dangerous

    • @ODHunte
      @ODHunte  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I understand what you mean. The two nato rails are taken one of which is usually used to screw the gimbal securely. To be honest this is one of my fears too but most of the time I do NOT use the extra safety and all is ok. You just have to make sure and double check it is 100 % switched to the locked 🔒 position. I use a very heavy rig and shot thousands of clips and never had an accident, yet 😂

      Turing the gimbal so that the base is horizontal engages the whole system differently. I don’t think it’s true Z axis like the 4D but I think it’s better than having it vertical…
