She's legally Japanese now but clearly Filipina. The way she speaks even that English, that's clearly a Filipino English. Laki tlga dito.

Her statement concerning the whoopie pie says it all! while she took a bite and had enjoyment for a moment she stopped and said too much sugar i need to eat food first! shows incredible discipline for a 22-year-old, that's part of the reason she won her 2nd US open, shows great discipline on and off the course, note: Japan is the least obese Country in the World, Japanese tend to live longer than any other nationality, not much sugar in Sushi & Tofu, good-luck Yuka the rest of the season-

2021, she dedicated her win for her Filipina mom, Philippines.
This year, she dedicated to her Japanese dad - for Japan.
    Fair enough!

Since Saso has won the USWO before, she knew how to attack the holes and how to avoid the pitfalls, like #12 hole.

She had the best puitting game & was the most 'literate' when it came to reading the greens. It has nothing to do with the USGA set-up.

@@birdieandcaddy Sure. And the fact that her last win was also a US Open Championship, where she finished with a score of (-4), is just PURE coincidence.

Yuka has shot up to no. 6 in the Rolex rankings, which pretty much secures her place in the Japan Olympic Games team.
*With only 1 other place up for grabs - unless more than 1 Japanese player can make the Rolex top 15 before the cut-off point (after the KPMG in 3 weeks time) - there's going to be a mad scramble for that other Olympic Games team place, with Hataoka (R19), Furue (R22) & Yamashita (R25) in contention. But Shibuno (R61) could force the issue with more good results in the next few weeks..😀

Saso's approach to putting was one of the main reasons she won. She almost always gets the ball to the hole, while the players chasing her were too scared of putting the ball too hard and going past the hole.
My opinion is that if you putt a ball short, you have ZERO probability of making a birdie or eagle.
On the 17th hole, Andrea Lee had a good line to get a birdie but struck the ball too softly on an upslope. That was her best chance to gain a stroke. But since she didn't hit the ball hard enough, Lee had ZERO chance of making a birdie. I knew she was going to be short because her practice back swings were too short for an upslope for such a long putt.

Nelly Korda and the other American players have to change their approach to the U.S. Open if they want to have a good chance to win. Maybe they were being too aggressive? Flawed strategy?
For starters, I would study how Saso approached the course and see if they can figure out the secret to her success.
