Spinosaurs are a topic I have actively avoided talking about for years. For one big reason, Spinosaurus is probably one of the most fought about topics in Paleontology! It seems like what we think we know about these animals changes at least every six months!
Many other content creators have agreed with me that because of this consistent change, as well as how much Spinosaurus fans like to fight about it, that it just isn't worth the headache to talk about this group of Theropods.
(I attempted to warn Clint's Reptiles to avoid talking about this, so he responded by making an in depth video about the Phylogeny of this family...)
But anyway, a new species of Spinosaur was recently described! So I decided this seems like a good time to go against my better judgment and join the fight by making my first Spinosaurid video!

Paleo Analysis in 50 years... Breaking news! Spinosaurus was an flying primate with laser eyes
Don't forget their highly advanced technological society
A featherless biped perhaps
Superman then?
😅😂
Greatest comment I’ve read in a while 😂
I feel like we're gonna find out Spinosaurus had wheels for feet, and the back, and tail were for steering their jetpacks.
Thats Skatepackosaurus, easy to mix the two up tho, theres ongoing debate around what fuel was used in the jet pack as well.
Now that you have found out the truth you have to be eliminated by the paleo mafia :D
The Palluminati? They got rid of all the Sasquatch fossils!
I remember that Clint’s Reptiles video.
So YOU ARE that guy. 😂
I think Clint will eventually tell us spinosaurs are the hagfish of spinosaurids.
YOURE BACK! I MISSED YOUR VIDEOS! Welcome back @PaleoAnalysis
Ah Spinosaurus has a new patch. I have lost track on how many we had this year already.
Okay, so I had my SUV stolen this week, and I was having the worst week, and then bam you come back, and I'm smiling.
LCZ spotted 👀
If you just had your vehicle stolen why would you give me money!?!?
I'm very greatful and appreciative but I feel terrible now! 😭
@@PaleoAnalysis Thankfully I have very good insurance, so while it's a massive waste of time and a huge headache, financially I'm all good! I'm just looking forward to more of your videos. Super informative, and also you're just a huge inspiration to me in terms of content creation generally.
@@LazyChillZonethat’s a rough break man
My theory, which is mine, about the spinosaurus, which I am about to say, is this: the spinosaurus is flat on one end, bulges in the middle, and is flat on the other end but in a different way than the front.
Nice!
*golf claps*. Monty? 😂🎉
@@thesjkexperience My undergraduate advisor was Anne Elk (Miss).
"My theory" kinda already implies that it is yours. 😉
@@redneckgaijin There is a Monty Python sketch that starts like your post. I just might be showing my age more than anything 🤣.
Right when I needed something to relax me and went looking for a Paleo analysis rewatch binge, this appears! Hooray! 🎉🎉
When the graphic "why are they like this?" came up, after tim Tim saying it made his head hurt made me think the they you were referring to was the community arguing over spinosauridae!
So glad you're back dude...
I can't wait for another Earth history episode. The Mesozoic Era, here we come.
Spiny can’t wait to see this. He’s my TimTim.
Edit: Thanks for the shoutout
Glad to see you sailing onwards. The video was very nice.
You were one of the creators (way back over a year ago) that got me back into my lost fascination with the prehistoric.
Godspeed.
I know you don’t like talking abt Spinosaurus, but it is my second favorite dinosaur. For me it is representative of why science is so cool. Good science changes as evidence is found, and videos may become out of date quickly, but that just makes it even more cool imo. New discoveries, theories, and reconstructions just means we are learning more about our world.
Welcome back! You are one of my favorite content providers. Plus, a week before my birthday perfect.
Happy early birthday 🎉
Cheers! May you have a good one!
Glad to have you back! Hope you feel good enough to get back into the groove. Your videos are so engaging and make learning addictive. 😊
Man, talk about whiplash, opening a Paleo Analysis video and getting Clint
Been missing your content. Welcome back!
Great video, never would've guessed there was dispute over these guys or realized what a mishmash of features they are compared to other contemporary top predators.
"Big spino dino scawwwy" was about all I knew heading in.
Swinging at the hornets nest I see. Good thing TimTim brought you to your senses.
Allow me to congratulate you on this masterful rendition of the debate! Your sound approach is the very reason I am a subscriber to your channel - even if the released videos come at a pace of a 'minute', a geological one, that is.
I remember the video by "Clint's reptiles" and the crew, to which I'm also subscribed and wanted to express my appreciation of you mentioning other content creators and giving them credit for their work; Although it should be the standard, today it's the hallmark of a great man.
Please, keep up your precious work and never change!
Glad to have you back Steve! Love the channel, one of my favorites on TH-cam
You’re finally back? Awesome! Hope you settled whatever you were going through.
I want to thank you! This channel has both educated and inspired me to get more invested in paleontology. Your awesome!
Great to have you back! Awesome video as always! Can't wait for more.
Good to see you posting again.
Good plug, Love Lindsay loads

Great to see you (and TimTim) back! 🥳
It certainly has been a while. I had to look back at your videos to make sure that TH-cam wasn't showing some of my subscribed channels to me again. Welcome back!
So glad you're back brother. You are absolutely my favorite science presenter of prehistoria. I hope a lot of teachers are using these excellent resources you're creating.
Had a big smile on my face when I discovered you had a new video out. Thank you!

I love your videos and the their flow. Welcome back 🎉

Tim Tim has become such a good assistant!
Good to see you back, and talking about my favorite dinosaurs. It honestly wasn't until Clint talked about it that it was even a contentious topic. o.o;
So glad you’re back!
Welcome back! I love watching your vids and learning more about the history of our planet.
Glad to have you back! I think you should set the comments on 🔥🔥🔥
Glad to see you posting again !
Yay! Welcome back! We missed you.
Happy to see you again!!!
Hey! Welcome back 🎉
Thought you'd quit, delighted you're back! More regular content please!!
Always love hearing your voice regarding any and everything Paleo ❤
My 3 year old is so excited you made a Spinosaurus video. He loves them and its a great example I use for how our knowledge and understanding of things can change as we become more intelligent and find new data. Thank you for the bravery of this controversial topic
I remember seeing Clint was subscribed to you but never made the connection to who he was referring to lol, good stuff m8 love both of your guys' channels
I'm so glad you're back! One thing I don't totally getbis why conical teeth are better at catching fish than serrated teeth, for example. Maybe you could do a video where you showcase different types of teeth and why they're good for certain jobs.
Anyway, keep up the awesome work! I'm so glad you're back :)
Conical teeth puncture and hold. Serrated teeth slice through and leave the carnivore with one bite out of a prey animal that got away.
On land the predator can track down the escaped but wounded prey more easily than in that water.
Welcome back i hope your Doing well 🔥🔥
Hello Paleo Analysis, i was wondering. When do you think that the next chapter of The Complete History of the Earth will be released?
Glad your back. Hopefully a few more specimens in the Spinosauri family pop up and paleontologists can start to make better sense of what is going on.
Thank you VERY MUCH for your info on this AMAZING family of vertebrates! 😊
Welcome back. I love your videos. Great to see Tim Tim 👍🏻🤣💜
Good to see a new upload again.
Love to see you back man!
Hooray a new Video ❤❤🎉
My guy, welcome back. Hope everything is going well!
Im so late to this but i finally have time ❤ glad you uploaded. Missed your content
I love spino because watching studies come out as the community devolves into warfare is basically a irl sitcom. Very fun, much drama, would watch again. Also I love how weird they are.
*Side note, Irritator Challengeri has my favorite dinosaur name because it is just a great microcosm of all spinosaurus studies. If only they knew how it would devolve from there....
Welcome back! ❤
Good to see you with 'fresh' content! Fun to see Tintin get the last word, too!
Welcome back Dude
Great to see you again, love your work
Glad to have you back 🎉
Welcome welcome back-missed you

Hell yeah, Clint’s Reptiles cameo
Glad to see you back! And hey, what's a little bit of back in the saddle controversy to get your interact numbers back up than setting off the spinonerds?
Thanks for the new video!!!
Rock on man love your videos!

YAY! a new PAleo Analysis video!
so excited to watch
btw hope ur doing okay
" The Platypus of the Dinosaur World" Love it! 😆
On the topic of fans of spinosaurs being very passionate. I agree with you however, I think it's a very small group of people like this. I say this because I wanted to specialize my career in paleontology so I am "one of" these people the truth is after following this group of dinosaurs closer than a CIA agent following your browser history, I can say pretty confidently that our understanding of this group of dinosaurs is limited and not something to fight over I on behalf of the spinosaurid community actually incurage you to make more content on these animals and to just ignore the rabid fans of these animals online. You and nearly every other paleo TH-camr I know of on this platform is amazing and really helps me find modern paleontological resources. So please don't let the internet dictate what you post
Your back!
Welcome back!
Pretty wild to hear you mention two other people I subscribe to. Never realized y’all know each other lol
They're cute little things. Welcome back, enjoyed the video.
We missed you guys!
