I just got done rebuilding a similar carb on my daughters opposed v twin. Those are great engines and I wish Briggs still made them. Good video and many thanks.
I hear ya! Yes they are, its a shame. I always thought they could have at least made a ohv model of these, but no everything went to v twins. Your welcome! Thanks for Watching!
Great work repairing that carburetor, that's odd that the clip came off the needle. Those opposed twins are great engines, I love them, keep up the great work!
My 19.5 pulled this same stunt but the only thing I found was the pump diaphragm had a kink where someone rebuilt it before and mine wasn't gravity feed so it had been doing it for a while. Good crankcase cleaning though! And I broke the nipple off the plastic pump body being ham fisted so ordered 2 and a pump kit. This was the non-adjustable carb I think. I put a pump kit in the adjustable when I got it before I put it on. The only problem I have is it's really finicky on the idle circuit but I run it a dab rich and all is well. I wouldn't swap that engine for anything but a diesel! Those and the 301's! Thanks and pick me one!
I hear ya! I think that was the problem, i filled the tank up more than usual and it must of overflowed the diaphragm and bled through the vacuum line i'm guessing. They are great motors! Thanks for Watching!
it can really only go one way, I have another video on showing how to install them, it clips on the needle then the loop goes through the piece on the float. Thanks for Watching!
If had two of these motors and the one I have now needs the carb cleaned weekly. It will run great and then it will start flooding out of nowhere, 90% of the time if I shut it off I have to wait up to 20 minutes befofe I can get another start out of it.
A while back I purchased 5 plastic shut off valves.(Oregon 07-406) thinking I could avoid the gas in the oil problem. I don't think any of the valves lasted more than a year or so. Instead of preventing trouble they caused it.
I didn't even think to check that, main reason i put it on this one is to shut it off an run the gas out for winter. I will have to check it out. Thanks for Watching!

10/4 on the good ones. Now we get plastic cams. Ug.

@@fnaguitarplayer9 I don't trust the 'V's nearly as much as the OP's. Too many have come unglued.

Thanks! I know right, its the first time I've had one do that. They are great motors, i wished they still made them. Thanks for Watching!!!

Glad you got it up and running. Sounds great.
Thanks. Always been a solid motor, just constant carb issues haha Thanks for Watching!
From time to time, I run into the carbs with the clip on the float pin. Which way is the clip supposed to point?
it can really only go one way, I have another video on showing how to install them, it clips on the needle then the loop goes through the piece on the float. Thanks for Watching!
Do you got a video, or know of one, that shows how to adjust the valves on an engine like this?
Not on this exact engine, but I have shown it on several other flathead engines and it is very similar, just different setup. Thanks for Watching!!!

Thats probably a float/needle valve issue causing the flooding but it could be the fuel pump part of the carb acting up. Thanks for Watching!!!
@@fnaguitarplayer9 I rebuilt the fuel pump a few weeks ago, wonder if I could put a plastic float in?

Blasted alcohol, reckon?
@@lewiemcneely9143 Maybe but you would think the could have used a plastic more suited for the purpose.
@@zombieengines7336 Not anymore. Even metal isn't metal. Bunch of junk. Glad all my stuff is 'L' heads or older overheads.
