Great video, extremely helpful. Just a helpful comment for those using imperial units. To convert meter per second to mph simply multiply m/s by 2.237 to get mph. 2m/s = 4.47mph

I've reported a bug to DJI as horizontal max speed does not affect the sideways flight speed. Hopefully this will get fixed as well and we'll have a full control over the speed with which our drone flies.

Another great video, Only had my drone a couple of weeks and I'm learning a lot! Never even though of using sport mode to get to the spot quicker. Also wanted to thank you for the great tip on an older video about adding sound effects to a video (as well as music) One flying over the lake the other day was made much more interesting with some honking geese sound added, as they were in the shot. You have a fab channel and explain things so well.

Brilliant info there buddy and made notes on a pad to test and configure. I do not own a mini 3 or the 3 pro, but latest update on my mini 2 pro looks exactly the same. I would love to adjust Yaw speed too as before seeing your video here I experimented with new settings and got it pretty well set up, but Yaw was very quick spoiling video a little. I seem to always remember there being the 48mp photo mode as well as all the expo tuning since it was first released.
I think this is an update for the newer Mini 3, as opposed to the MIni 3 *Pro* which, yes, had the "48MP" quad bayer system from release.
The 48mp photo mode was added to the Mini 3 (not a Pro) - which didn't have it before. Hope that helps!

Hi Matthew if you say go to 1 M P S and then push the stick 1/2 way do you get 1/2 a metre per second now? Another channel was paying all of you, reviewers, out saying in the past if you didn't push the stick all the way forward you could get slower anyway. Don't get me wrong I am on your side it is much easier to push full forward rather than try and keep your thumb in one position to keep a constant speed. Thanks Mate

What’s a Bayer filter?
Let’s start from the beginning - a Bayer filter is a colorful mosaic of Red, Green and Blue filters that allows a digital sensor to capture color photos. Semiconductor pixels don’t “see” color, they only capture the amount of light that hits them, so without a filter you will get a Black & White photo. The Bayer filter makes sure that the light reaching each pixel is of one of the three primary colors.
The way it works out is that a 12MP sensor, for example, has 6 million pixels that see green, and 3 million pixels each for red and blue. Green gets more pixels because the human eye is the most sensitive to that color. An algorithm called demosaicing is used to interpolate a full 12MP resolution image.
A Quad Bayer filter is a bit of a misnomer as it’s actually the same as a regular Bayer filter. What really changes is not the filter but the sensor behind it - these new sensors put four pixels behind each color square instead of just one.
So, really these 48MP Quad Bayer sensors can’t offer much more detail than a 12MP sensor. Sensor and phone makers alike will tell you that smarter demosaicing algorithms can capture more detail, but our experience is that the gain is small - if there’s a gain to be had at all.

Question: Do the speed change settings apply to quick shots aswell?
Oh wow amazing that I just discovered this. Btw can you change the speed of the quick shots? Like for example when I go helix or circle, it starts slow and goes really fast. Is there a way to slow this down and keep at same speed? Please advise. Thank you

😉 thanks a lot for the update and the practical way to apply the new settings and what they mean. if people are following the patches evolution from DJI, many experts are complaining about the missing old Tripod setting. with this update well now can be set up the maximum speed in the different setting, what also good was that the previous Expo setting were not altered by the patch. it also a good point to mention. still for the Air 2S this setting is not available were the camera also is great. 15 Minutes great timing to deliver the right message. 😎

No zoom though
When editing your video, do you stop recording after you stop the drone, or do you cut the video short of it stopping. As if video is cut before drone stops, why should it matter how quickly the drone stops. If the drone flies 10mtr past the point you want to record to, does it matter how fast it stops?
For those of us who aren't using the DJI controller, will the upgrades be on the software for our ipads?
