    Excellent discussion. On the key topics discussed here:
    #1. Where's the financial accountability for oil and gas revenues and expenses? How much money is coming in, and where is it going? Until this accountability is established the oil and gas industries in Nigeria 🇳🇬 will continue to be a loss leader.
    #2. The Nigerian national anthem re-adopted from the old, colonial national anthem is a huge mistake. Maybe the British royal family and the European and American colonists are happy, but it's a travesty for the identity of Nigeria 🇳🇬 as a free, independent nation.
    How can any self respecting human being be accepting of, and comfortable with the word "tribes" in their national anthem used to refer to the nation as a collection of primitive savages?
    The Tinubu administration is pleasing colonial interests in re-adopting the old colonial national anthem. That's not going to benefit Nigeria in the short-term or the long-term.
    The Tinubu administration would be best advised to reverse their decision on re-adoption of the old national anthem as that decision was unilaterally made by the Tinubu administration without public debate or consent.
    And, why was there a need to re-adopt the old colonial Nigerian national anthem in the first place? The Tinubu administration gave a far less than convincing rationale for their decision to re-adopt the colonial national anthem for Nigeria.
    #3. Donald Trump is a con man, a grifter, and now a convicted felon. He's absolutely right in saying, "If they can do this (prosecution) to me, they can do this to anyone." No one is above the law.
    #4. To avert a strike by the government workers there has to be good will, and good faith negotiations on both sides of the dispute. Where there is a will, there is a way.

      @ezikebobby4960 I like Obasanjo, but I hate Obasanjo's national anthem. It was written, in my view, to drive obedience to the military system of government. I know both national anthems by heart - they both have 3 stanzas. Read the anthems. You will find the 1976 anthem is even a bad copy of the original 1960 anthem.

    Yes, it is now the law but one has the right to refuse to singing the anthem. Tinubu is just being petty. He did this to spite Obasanjo. Imagine the rubbish.

    Nigeria Labour Congress should not agitate for any salary increase at all because the existing inflation will become worse. N L C should meet with federal government on how to bring petrol price down by making our refineries working and our foreign exchange down down to #450 to $1 and establishment of price control board, these will surely bring down
    inflation in the country. Nigeria inflation started from IDOJI salary increase and subsequent salary increases to date. Therefore there should should be NO any salary increase NOW.

    • @eleahake7353
      @eleahake7353 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you. The NLC has it twisted on this one. Every time the minimum wage is increased, price go up and all is lost.
      They should fight for the openning of the ports so cheap commodities should come in and drive down price. This way, the nations purchasing power is preserved and information is lowered and stabilised.

      A stanza in the anthem says "though tribes and tongues may differ in brotherhood we stand" but we saw how Tinubu destroyed this brotherhood in Lagos state during the presidential election simply because he wants to be president.
      Nigerians were not allowed to go out and vote the candidate of their choice. So it's a trash singing in brotherhood we stand. Damn.

Why should they be talking extensively on the anthem that has been delibrated thru public opinion and debated by the house of reps and the senate. All the analysts should verify what topic they have before coming. These Abati, rufai and the lady are politicians and always shared the political sentiments of their boss Obiagbena.
