Hi Safiyah, as a former Teddy Hall Geographer and now one of the Outreach Team, I would recommend looking for books, magazine articles, TH-cam series, or podcasts that reflect your interests. It'll be more interesting for you and shows a more genuine interest in the subject. National Geographic is a good place to start as they cover a wide variety of topics, and many articles are available for free on their website. For more advice, take a look at our Personal Statements video th-cam.com/video/FrOxdSPUqmE/w-d-xo.html - Lizzie

Glad to hear you've enjoyed our videos! With regards to your qualifications and an application to medicine at Oxford, the best thing to do is to take a look at the information on the Medical Sciences website: www.medsci.ox.ac.uk/study/medicine/pre-clinical/statistics It's important to bear in mind that we look at your application as a whole, so your application will be influenced not just by your GCSEs but also your Personal Statement, your performance in the BMAT, your teachers' reference, and if you're intereviwed, your performance here too. We also look at GCSE performance data for schools in Great Britain and Northern Ireland to help us assess whether an your grades at GCSE may reflect an under- or over-performance within the context of your school. Therefore, it is possible that the chance of being shortlisted can be increased/reduced if you have a higher/lower proportion of A* (8/9) grades than would be predicted for the average student applying to Oxford from your GCSE school. If you have any more questions, you can get in touch directly with the Medical Sciences department by email on admissions@medschool.ox.ac.uk
