In this case, it’s simply not worth Disney’s time to prosecute. They’ll get bad press by having their name associated with smut. They also aren’t losing any money here-they’re never going to monetize this kind of material. It was a smart move on Katee/the publisher’s part.

Even tho I think Katee Robert blew up from her Neon Gods series, I actually liked this series more(and her monster series even more haha). I feel like these shorter books are the better length for erotica. I think the neon gods series is supposed to be more of a romance but to me they just felt like these books but with filler. lol 😂 but I’ve noticed for myself that when it comes to erotica I’m not as concerned with plot, it just better have amazing chemistry between the characters. And I mean in their flirting/banter/non-bedroom interactions.
I like Katee Roberts Books but man, she writes the same fucking book over and over again. If it wasn’t for the interesting relationship pairings, I’d probably never read anything of hers again. Also, the audio for this book was horrible. Jafar’s voice actor makes me full-body cringe.
No but my first Dad crush WAS Aladdin's dad. Like I never saw Aladdin as a crush. He was just kinda... a jerk? But holy sh*t Aladdin's Dad is so... that man is just; whole series is justified with just him, the Genie being the Genie because we love him, and adorable little Sultan.

How do you sell Disney porn commercially? I thought Disney lawyers didn't approve of that sort of thing. I'm confused, because I got a hassle because I wrote a story involving a public domain character who just had a name that was sort of similar to the name of a DC Comics character.
@@ReadswithRachel In the original story as Scheherezade told it, the character Jafar was based on was just called "the African Wizard" (Aladdin and the Princess, BTW, were Chinese).
@@arcadiaberger9204 Antoine Galland got the story of Aladdin from the Syrian Maronite Catholic storyteller Hanna Diyab. (who is an interesting figure in his own right btw, his memoir the _Book of Travels_ provides some insight) The Middle East had a long oral storytelling tradition, and it's unsure where Hanna Diyab heard it from. Perhaps he was influenced by the Tang dynasty wuxia tale of Kunlun Nu (崑崙奴), or even his own life story.

I was really disappointed in this because I read some of the author's other work and I was like, yeah. This is a good time. Then I find out we're dealing with just another author who gets "inspired" by other people's IP and doesn't bother to hide their theft of characters and then is praised for originality. I followed her on social media at one point and she was openly promoting these as being the Disney characters. She went on my never read list sooooooooo fast.
@@ReadswithRachel I think if she had a deal with them, she wouldn't have changed the spelling of the names. And I find it very unlikely that she does have a deal with them due to the fact that they have their own line of adult romance novels. Unless she has been contracted to write one of those or has said herself that she has Disney's approval. Otherwise, she's just violating copyright. And while that might not seem like a huge deal because Disney is so big, it really opens the door to violating smaller creators' IP. That said, really nobody seems to care in the romance world when people are "inspired" by stuff they don't have the right to play with.

I’ve never seen a vibrator with suction. Rachel you have been dropping reviews so much lately, I love it!
Suction will change your life i stg
Thanks for being here!
All the Iago clips have me rolling!
The clips from the animated movie. I’m dead. 😂
You really do go above & beyond for us sometimes. I appreciate you!
Horrible day to have my name
This was a delight to watch. I feel the same about stories, where character and plot development is very important to me, so erotica... generally wouldn't be my thing.
Also, that's Aladdin's dad???? 👀
Only time "She is mine" works is from Scarlet. Wolf is the original alpha, and he respects woman
Because Scarlet is his alpha ❤
@@ofthewilderwoods hell yeah she is
I LOVE Katie Roberts. This wasn't a favorite of mine but damn I lovemood reading her books😂❤
I'm so glad she's found such huge readership. She's a lovely person! My best friend LOVES her books.
One of my friends made me read this for a reading vlog and my soul spent the entire time shriveling up LOL
Partnering with bellesa is like a dream come true. 👀
That’s exactly how I feel 🥹
I had a visceral physical reaction when I heard Rachel say that Jasmine was asked to dress as a school girl before they had sex in the dungeon. Like....no....
I had this book recommended to me YEARS ago and didn't read it because I... did not want to. But I've always been curious about it as a whole so this was perf. Thanks for doing the dirty work for us!!
As someone who has been getting into kinky NBC Hannibal fanfic, everything I’ve read on AO3 is still somehow better than this. I truly can’t with these erotica writers.
YESSSSSSSSS cassim literally had no business being that fine but the animators went all out on his design anyway. i was probably like 8 when i watched that movie and my eyes bulged out of my head LOL where's his erotic fanfiction!?
After watching reviews on e.l. james and colleen hoover, its shocking how much better this weird ass erotica fanfic handles consent and communication.
I see Rachel uploads, I watch Rachel uploads
I like Katee Roberts Books but man, she writes the same fucking book over and over again. If it wasn’t for the interesting relationship pairings, I’d probably never read anything of hers again. Also, the audio for this book was horrible. Jafar’s voice actor makes me full-body cringe.
Damn, toys have come a looong way in the past 20 years 😂❤
You doing a dilf shout out to Kassim, yes, girl!! 🙌🏻
I was out the oment you said "first person pov", I can get down with the quite horrible, stereotypical plot and the confusing world building, but not with that. It's often seems somewhat lazy.
That aside, this reads as if the author wrote fanfiction, the teenage reader said: that's so good and she self published.
:/ That Jafar and Jasmine scene icked me really early, but Jasmine herself _and_ Aladdin were probably my bi awakening lol
No questions. 100% clear. Well explained.
New subscriber here. I’m dying over the Iago reaction clips 😂
I would love to see a video where you talk about a couple of books you love and why.

Your transitions into the promos kill me. What I was definitely not expecting was sex toys, but here we are. 🤣🤣 You never fail to be my favorite booktuber.
Wasn’t Jasmine 16 in the original movie??? Who is shipping them??? Also is Jafar not gay???
I assume Jasmine was 20 in the movie… but have no idea why I thought that because it’s never said in the movie
I loved Aladdin as a kid, but no matter what, I always forgot that Jafar was in the film. He was such a nothing-villain to me that Iago was more of a threat.
I feel like Iago would be thrilled to hear that
The interspersed Aladdin clips had me rolling 🤣
The Aladdin clips are SENDING ME. Also WTF is Tinker Bell doing here?!?
How do you sell Disney porn commercially?
I thought Disney lawyers didn't approve of that sort of thing.
I'm confused, because I got a hassle because I wrote a story involving a public domain character who just had a name that was sort of similar to the name of a DC Comics character.
I am honestly not sure. There must be a loophole or agreement.
Learned neon gods and this series is connected just makes everything more convoluted lore-wise 😵💫
Not the family business being a dungeon 😂
I JUST read all three of these books and I didn't haaaaate them? 🤔 Jasmine and Jafar were...whatever? I thought the second was done better with Hades/Meg/Hercules tho.
JFC I totally forgot about the Daddy kink in this book. Apparently it was way more forgettable than I realized
I died at Donald Duck attorney at law 😂
_Please_ do the rest of this series!! XD.
Does she have any sort of deal with disney?
@@ReadswithRachel I think if she had a deal with them, she wouldn't have changed the spelling of the names. And I find it very unlikely that she does have a deal with them due to the fact that they have their own line of adult romance novels. Unless she has been contracted to write one of those or has said herself that she has Disney's approval. Otherwise, she's just violating copyright. And while that might not seem like a huge deal because Disney is so big, it really opens the door to violating smaller creators' IP.
That said, really nobody seems to care in the romance world when people are "inspired" by stuff they don't have the right to play with.
Like, no sorry but why TF is every other licensed Disney character in this book??? Why couldn't we at least stay in Agrahbah? It's like a pornographic House of Mouse spinoff with no cohesion or flavor lmao.
damn i wish the sex dungeon had been called house of mouse...
Katee Robert has described her books as being similar to the fast and the furious movies. They're not gonna be plot driven or focus on timeline but you still watch them because they're ridiculous and fun
