Well fuck me sideways! Only John could make a conversation about the FCC and Net Neutrality interesting, engaging, and informative. Just give the guy his own segment!!
Yeah, I realize that. But his camera presence is quite engaging and as much as I enjoy Techquickie, I think a more long-winded version of John explaining stuff could be really cool
Definitely later than usual. Usually I'll catch it on TH-cam later that night or early the next morning, but this time it wasn't up until well into the next evening.
About the capsaicin molecule: the double bonds skip orientation(which is why it's sometimes noted as a hexagon with a circle in it or sometimes the double bonds are even outright left out) The orientations you noted are therefore not the only positions.
John is such a boss. I love when Linus and Luke tap him for some legal knowledge, because it brings clarity to some of the more enigmatic topics they bring.
This is one of the WAN shows where I thoroughly enjoyed it thanks to that Luke and Jon mix. Wish I saw Jon more. I mean it's not that Luke or Linus is bad it's just that Jon give this whole new flavour to the show. Heck, if they could like fit three people in the show that'd be something.
In the UK we technically only have two main systems BT Openreach who wholesale to ISP/Telecoms on a combo of fiber and old copper phone system (ADSL/VDSL/FTTC) or Virgin Media who run there own Fiber/Cable system (Docsis), we do have other very smaller types like 4G Home Broadband, Satellite and the like, but because of this we very competitive prices all around depending on what you need.
Luke didn't seem to care about net neutrality which is very important in the states, while John was very informative. I hope I see more of John in the WAN show.
UnderWaterGamer Uhh. Luke lives in Canada, why would he know about it. John has lived in the US for many years before living in Canada so he watches US news more often.
well, they do have many American viewers and Luke seemed like he really didn't even want to give John the time of day with the expressions he was making while John talked...
Tell you what; Not everybody's from the US. If you're that much into it, look it up by yourself. Although the majority is from the US, it's boring af for every citizen from another country which are quiet a lot
because luke is the project manager for a new streaming platform, that prides itself with high bandwith videos .And most likely a majority viewership from the US. luke's indifference towards this topic given his current position is a bit shocking to me. he's probably one of the people most affected by this.
your advert for the spectrum glass is much better then the previous i had seen on other channels. i could get a pair of safety glasses that blocks all blue light for $10us. the spectrum glasses sound like they are much more fine tuned. the $10 safety glasses i bought makes the colors on everything looks extremely different. plus the spectrum ones look tons better.
If you think you're old for knowing what an Abacus is, I took school tests copied using a Mimeograph when I was young. That smell of ethanol on the paper was the best!
Is it just me that thinks that if they were able to have John on the show regularly along with Linus and Luke it would be helpful since he seems to have a good understanding of lots of topics such as the whole legal thing in this episode.
John has something interesting to say about everything. Very quick and concise too. He should have his own news video spot. Maybe kinda like the NCIX news format? Id watch it
I worked in a photo lab for a few years doing color correction and tracing paths for a cutting laser, and the screen hoods defiantly kept a truer color on your own screen without picking up the glare of everyone around you of the lights/floor sheen. In a prefessional setting they do help, not so sure about casual gaming though...
From what i understand about net neutrality is that right now the internet bandwidth is equalized between all web pages and steaming services, gaming etc... What company's like Netflix want to do is buy off a portion of a internet providers traffic. Meaning that Netflix would always get perfect bandwidth while competitors would be getting drops in speed based off of usage.
It took them 2 days to build that dome 2/3rds up, there are easier and faster ways to make a shelter, even more solid shelters. though they need to be prepared like inflatable tents, metal or concrete parts. there was also an inflatable concrete tent. add water, inflate/pull to errect, let it dry for a day and you have a concrete shelter.
The FCC did the classification in response to a court ruling that said that the rules they were imposing were not legal. The class change was required just to keep things as they were. It was not to strengthen the rules at all.
I'm actually a fan of the night light feature in the Windows creator's update since its useful for late night procrastination without a separate program. Your eyes completely adjust to the tint and its like its not even there
The ISPs in America reduce speeds of certain websites anyway. They have complete disregard for the current regulation. You can verify it by switching a VPN on when TH-cam is loading slowly for you (Especially when you get the "Experiencing interruptions" box). I can confirm that Comcast and CenturyLink are putting bandwidths on certain websites.
FYI, in the timestamps you misspelled Spektrum for the sponsor spot. Not sure how much it would affect you if the advertiser saw it, but I don't want you all to lose out on a sponsor/money.
The problem I hope the New! 2DS XL solves is the shoddy quality control of the screens on every 3DS. There's also a screen lottery for IPS vs LCD on BOTH screens. Never know what you're gonna get. If this thing has properly calibrated dual IPS screens, it's existence is worthwhile
For those who think net neutrality isn't a big deal, this is what your internet service pricing would look like without it: theamericangenius.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/net-neutrality.jpg
This been the most informative WAN Show EVER! I actually sat down to watch it instead of just letting it play in the background. John should do a spinoff.
Id actually like it if John did something like an open forum where he discussed a selected topic and took questions about it. He's honestly the first lawyer that I can listen to, and enjoy it.
@1:15 Nope, the 3D effect is a great feature and an important selling point to people who love the immersion. The 2DS was always meant to be a cheap alternative.
The leg bits on that "iron man" suit reminds me of a video with a guy who had mini jet engines or turbines on his legs, and a glide suit. He went pretty damn fast.
The reason behind the 2DS XL being $150 is be cause it is the "New" 2DS XL there is a big difference between the normal version of the 2DS/3DS and the "New" 2DS/3DS mainly being the Processing power for better graphics and faster load times and upgraded the battery.
on the topic of the spectrum glasses, f.lux and similar apps i do like that stuff but only for my phone. now i don't know how good the app solutions out there are but on my OnePlus One running Cyanogen OS (rip) it's build in as an option straight into the rom and it works really well and is fairly customizable, including features like adjusting the color temp for day and night individually, an automatic sunset/sunrise mode, automatic outdoors mode and of course the ability to toggle between all the modes manually.
Concerning net neutrality, less government intervention is better. The private sector always comes up with better policy because they are responding to hundreds of millions of inputs. Where as the government is responding to a few thousand lobbyists and special interests reign supreme.
I can already see how the iron man thing is going to be developed for military first... You could make heavy armored soldiers moving fast and agile. Like tanks for indoor fights
I was really scared there about net neutrality for a moment and then I remembered that I live in the EU where the commission backs net neutrality 100%.
Well, technically, the CRTC only recently took an important step towards net neutrality (in preventing ISP's charging content providers for access to high speed lanes/preferred content lanes). I only hope that whatever changes happen in the US don't eventually undo the things here in terms of net neutrality. You can say anything like Hey ______/Hey _______ - etc, etc, etc - on my end - it won't trigger anything (so no, my lights won't turn on, the toast won't pop out of the toaster early, can't reset my thermostat controls, start my car, or (more importantly) cause any device to display advertising information on what you requested). Funny thing is, I saw that coming years ago...
Well fuck me sideways! Only John could make a conversation about the FCC and Net Neutrality interesting, engaging, and informative. Just give the guy his own segment!!
He writes Techquickie.
Yeah, I realize that. But his camera presence is quite engaging and as much as I enjoy Techquickie, I think a more long-winded version of John explaining stuff could be really cool
Elimentus second this
John is a good host for the wan show. I think he knows something about everything.
he's a lawyer
I feel my IQ increasing already
And he is very well articulated.
It'd be dumb for a company to not have some legal representation. Plus it's not even his main role at the company.
+Dino Luigi You can say that about society of which you are a part of. Don't hate da player, hate da game....
Who needs Google when you have John
needs an api to add more natural speech with tone, timing, breaths, etc
I needed google to find this when it was unlisted
I use Bing
No, you don't.
AskJohn.com
I had to search for this manually. Worth it.
This is one of the best WAN shows in a while
>starts the wan show on time
>posts the TH-cam video late af
You guys ok there?
Edward James Bickels that moment when you realize TH-cam has a hold on it for copyright checking that varies greatly day to day, video to video.
Edward James Bickels they stream on twitch and upload to TH-cam right after. You need to watch and pay attention more
You need to pay attention, it's 28th WAN show but it was uploaded on the 29th
Definitely later than usual. Usually I'll catch it on TH-cam later that night or early the next morning, but this time it wasn't up until well into the next evening.
On facebook. it says blame jon
We are proud of our navy sheep's accomplishement.
isn't it great what a bunch of Apple fans can do when they work together? ;)
I See You're a Man of Culture as well😂
I fell asleep listening to John, so I might watch it tonight too
About the capsaicin molecule: the double bonds skip orientation(which is why it's sometimes noted as a hexagon with a circle in it or sometimes the double bonds are even outright left out) The orientations you noted are therefore not the only positions.
WAN show with John are always the best WAN shows!! I dont know why I find boring legal crap so interesting but I do.
I love when John talks law. best part of wan show every single time he comes on.
People say this is unlisted... glad I have this tab opened for days now.
Love the fact that since you have the new gear for the show, everything is working seamlessly and also you're on time as well
Thank you, I'm so happy that you don't say Alexa, every time I play a youtube video, she is alway go up and say "hello world"
Thank you for a real informative explanation of net neutrality. things like this keep me subscribed.
John is so insanely knowledgeable about stuff. I'd like to see him on the show more.
Thanks John, you just helped me write my composition final.
John is such a boss. I love when Linus and Luke tap him for some legal knowledge, because it brings clarity to some of the more enigmatic topics they bring.
Thank you John for doing that piece of explaining. Keep the complex topics coming
Why are you trying to hide the WAN show from me Linus?
This is one of the WAN shows where I thoroughly enjoyed it thanks to that Luke and Jon mix. Wish I saw Jon more. I mean it's not that Luke or Linus is bad it's just that Jon give this whole new flavour to the show. Heck, if they could like fit three people in the show that'd be something.

linus looks different.. new hair cut?
Andy Nguyen new shirt
He just got smarter.
Mritunjay Musale atleast he trimmed his fingernails and dropped the earrings.. he atleast doesnt look like a scene piece of trash
Andy Nguyen
New footwear
That's Linus' son all grown up.
Best WAN show ever! Please bring John next week too.
John is a GREAT addition to the show, kudos to him!!!
John, Linus, and Luke would be a great Wan Show team.
your advert for the spectrum glass is much better then the previous i had seen on other channels. i could get a pair of safety glasses that blocks all blue light for $10us. the spectrum glasses sound like they are much more fine tuned. the $10 safety glasses i bought makes the colors on everything looks extremely different. plus the spectrum ones look tons better.
That took forever. Glad to see you didn't break your Wan show record.
I'd say:
1)CalTech
2)Stanford
3)MIT
4)CMU
5)GIT
The best part of this whole video is when John references the Universal Constructor from Deus Ex.
Ayyy this was recorded during my birthday!
Finally a wan show started on time, but i missed it because TH-cam unsubscribed me for some reason.
:( wtf YT
23 hours after I gets posted I get a notiflication... Good job youtube
Just watched it on twitch`s archive yesterday. Hope you`ll get you queue right! Keep up the good work!
If you think you're old for knowing what an Abacus is, I took school tests copied using a

Unfortunately the 2DS XL will have a 400 x 240 display instead of a 800 x 240 like the New 3DS XL.
John has something interesting to say about everything. Very quick and concise too. He should have his own news video spot. Maybe kinda like the NCIX news format? Id watch it

That Acer screen is cool. I will buy one for my spreadsheets..

John could talk to me about law all day i would never get bored

We're Blasting off agaaaaaiiiiiinnnn!!!!!!
The FCC Net Neutrality is the first time I actually was interested in what he was trying to say and Luke didn't even care, lol.
The ISPs in America reduce speeds of certain websites anyway. They have complete disregard for the current regulation. You can verify it by switching a VPN on when TH-cam is loading slowly for you (Especially when you get the "Experiencing interruptions" box). Luke was bored through the net part. thanks to John for being the dude!
FYI, in the timestamps you misspelled Spektrum for the sponsor spot. Not sure how much it would affect you if the advertiser saw it, but I don't want you all to lose out on a sponsor/money.
Only WAN show can show us a new monitor without even saying its name.
"That crazy monitor"
I liked John on the show. He's very knowledge.
The way Jon says "Premier League" cracks me up
Good episode guys!
So, Spectrum glasses are basically the same as Gunnar glasses that have been around for a couple decades.
pls have Jon on more. If he's comfortable with it, that is.
I like how they post 2000 dollar and q3 release and then say no pricing and release date given in this...
Prerecorded confirmed?
pranaya sinha They upload the wan show to youtube 2 days later than on twitch.
Johan Reviews ahh no they don't lol..
Jon is actually my favorite character on the LMG show
"you can WASD on it and you can homerow... which is cool!"
That sponsor spot felt like Luke's painful throwback keyboard review.
Good job explaining aromaticity John.
Love your content my dudes! Keep up the good work.
Liked for John, can we get a video of him talking about net neutrality?
John is a good Wan Show host. Could he do more Wan Show? The most lit show it the world?!!
For those who think net neutrality isn't a big deal, this is what your internet service pricing would look like without it: theamericangenius.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/net-neutrality.jpg
Confirmed. All Topics are ads. 52:24
Christian O. There was the net neutrality issue.
Christian O. Maybe not ads, but paid mentions. That was not a mistake from Luke.
Look at hankgames funding an entire soccer team, this is close enough
Nice breakdown of the Net Neutrality thing
It was Comcast, they were trying to end the trend of cable cutters who switched to Netflix.
Can we have Jon in the WAN Show instead of Linus next week too?
It's not that Linus is bad, he is definitely not. I just think John is great! He knows so much about everything. I like John.
#4MoreYears
John and Luke are good hosts. I would like to see Linus and John or Luke and John.
I gotta say, I agree with senraXD. More Jon. Let's not burn Linus out (marathon, not a sprint... yadda yadda yadda).
I would definitely watch A show like that.
"Star Wars: X-Wing Miniatures" game is the BEEZ NEEZ
It is "foaming up", because it is spray foam, it is called expansion Luke.
24:50 Quite pleased that he said "Millenium Stadium" after it was controversially renamed "Principality Stadium"
John rocks. He is the best LMG has.
Interesting topic, very articulate explanation.
Need more talk about title 2 and net neutrality. Maybe a video. Because this topic affects all Internet users with so many companies in the US
@1:15 Nope, the 3D effect is a great feature and an important selling point to people who love the immersion. The 2DS was always meant to be a cheap alternative.
Red Phoenix not all people like the 3d feature
The leg bits on that "iron man" suit reminds me of a video with a guy who had mini jet engines or turbines on his legs, and a glide suit. He went pretty damn fast.
Love it when John comes on to talk about things like net neutrality. His informed opinion is really interesting to hear!
I want john to do more WAN Shows.
Everything looks great on Dennis
Them glasses are old tech, my actual perscription glasses has that coating on. It does help.
Love the new wan show ❤️
The reason behind the 2DS XL being $150 is be cause it is the "New" 2DS XL there is a big difference between the normal version of the 2DS/3DS and the "New" 2DS/3DS mainly being the Processing power for better graphics and faster load times and upgraded the battery.
The in-house lawyer is here YAYYYY! :D
Spektrum has clip-on pairs for those with prescription glasses.
The quality of the 3D effect between the "New 3DS" and the "3DS" is worlds apart. Check it out.
on the topic of the spectrum glasses, f.lux and similar apps i do like that stuff but only for my phone. now i don't know how good the app solutions out there are but on my OnePlus One running Cyanogen OS (rip) it's build in as an option straight into the rom and it works really well and is fairly customizable, including features like adjusting the color temp for day and night individually, an automatic sunset/sunrise mode, automatic outdoors mode and of course the ability to toggle between all the modes manually.

15:40 My mind immediately went to Mr.Torgue
My parents taught me how to use an abacus from an early age. I had weird parents.
59:45 oh hey, that's me as the latest post in Tech News and Reviews.
I was really scared there about net neutrality for a moment and then I remembered that I live in the EU where the commission backs net neutrality 100%.
Luke has a very low tolerance for the dark side!
May the Linus be with you.
John, I am impressed by you summation of the Net Neutrality debate. It was informative, concise and fair. Thank you.
Well, technically, the CRTC only recently took an important step towards net neutrality (in preventing ISP's charging content providers for access to high speed lanes/preferred content lanes). I only hope that whatever changes happen in the US don't eventually undo the things here in terms of net neutrality. All I heard was Luke talking about his new electric semi from tesla :D
Prusa Original 3D printer can print in 4 colors and combining and changing them. So if you are into that, get the Prusa Original.
