8 Best Hikes in Cyprus 🇨🇾 Solo Hiking Road Trip

- Hiking in Cyprus, Europe. I traveled to the Mediterranean island of Cyprus in Europe and went on a solo hiking road trip in order to explore its beautiful nature by hiking 8 trails. They were selected to get the greatest diversity, so all of them are up to 10 km in length and each one is unique in its way, so each trail is the best of its category. They showcase the wild and naked nature of the Greek island. Some of them are little known so can be considered hidden gems. But all of them are must-see places in Cyprus if you love nature. And my conclusion is this - Cyprus is a very fitting place for hiking alone.
The trails are spread out to the whole of Cyprus, so this list is perfect for a round a week long roundtrip (the hikes can be done in 4 days, if you do 2 per day). Two of them are in the Turkish part of Northern Cyprus. So this video will serve as a hiking guide for both North and South Cyprus. It also includes some travel tips and where to park your car at the trailheads.
A small self-correction: The Aphrodite trail is actually the full loop that I did as the Adonis trail turns to a different direction at one point early into the Aphrodite trail. But my advice to do the trail clockwise remains - this way you'll get the mind-blowing effect of seeing the view at once, not gradually.

It does have some beautiful nature but this is filmed in the cooler months when everything is green . In summer it becomes quite dry . Sadly most of the coastline is heavily commercialised for tourism and the beaches are fabricated . Troodos mountains , Paphos forest and Akamas Peninsula are the best scenic places . Forget the beaches full of drunken backpackers . You have shown us the best of Cyprus and thank you !

Many thanks! 🙏 The Southern Greek part is safe for sure. I stayed there in different locations, close to the trailheads. About the occupied North - to be honest, I don’t know. I was there for one day only. I didn’t have any unsafe feelings but I also didn’t sleep overnight there. Enjoy your trip!

As an EU citizen is it easyy to cross borders between cyprus? i don't actually understand the political whatever there. Can i just go from the south to the east with a rental car? cheers !
Yes, I had no problems crossing the border. As mentioned in the video, a visa has to be bought on the border, that's all. And just in case you may ask your rental car company if they are Ok with entering the North.
