I know some guys will say this isn’t a “budget” build and while it’s not cheap, this is obviously more cost efficient to get top of the line in the parts of the truck that matter to the owner, but not paying for the stuff they don’t care about. But, the difference is that instead of buying an upper trim and ripping stuff off later, you can add as you go. I’m sure we’d all like to do this out the gate, but it’s not always feasible. Very cool set up, and a lot like I would spec out if I were to do it myself. Vinyl floors and seats are the way to go and it’s a shame you can’t get them on all models as an option
After doing some adding from the prices online. A build like this with approximate labor, you are looking at about 17k. And thats on the soft side. So maybe like 18k. But anyways. There you guys go for everyone that keeps asking.
@Chickenbonetone probably more like 15k. Just pintop kit and radius arms alone are $7000. Then torsion bar, upper and lower stabilizers, wheels and tires, headlights etc.

Can I assume that I should go off of a Carli 2.5" level kit for tire / wheel fitment? Thx again for all the awesome information, videos and feedback!!! Keep up the great work!!
Fitment will be the same! Stick to a wheel no wider than 9.6" with around +12 to +27 offset and you'll be able to fit 37s no problem on your truck with very minor trimming. Glad you're enjoying the suspension!
@@CJCOffRoad Thank you! So fitment should be same as compared to the Carli 2.5 or the Carli 3.25? I'm thinking of getting your CJC exclusive Raceline Avenger wheels with 315/70/17 Ridge Grapplers. I assume there would be no issue with this combo? Thx again!!!
This was awesome to watch - i just bought a '22 Cummins 2500, came from a Jeep Gladiator and a ton of F150's, F250's before that - was wondering what was out there for these trucks. Do the fog light upgrades come with the necessary wiring ? I assume i'd need to wire into my aux switches to get them to turn on - the factory knob doesn't have a button to turn on foglights (my truck didn't come with them).
We offer two options for trucks without fog lights from the factory. You can either run a stand alone switch, or if equipped, we provide a harness that connects to the factory up-fitters.
Actually not leather. It’s Ram’s “Work Grade Vinyl”. All our work trucks have it. It’s tough as nails but I find it terrible in the summer months cause it doesn’t breathe at all so it gives you a sweaty back and butt.
Have you guys ever experimented with using mostly all Carli suspension but utilizing aev parts to move the axle forward with their fender kit to run 40’s? I would love to see 40’s with Carli build and ride quality
It isn't possible. Axle re-location on these trucks means that you need to reduce upward and downward wheel travel to prevent contact within the suspension, so unless you want to run large bump stop drops and stock coils to limit travel like AEV, it isn't happening. The better path is to simply run AEV flares, and then trim as needed on the firewall etc to clear 40s on a Carli/Thuren system.
Best to use their links above for items on website. Lots of different options. I also had some other things done that weren’t included in the video. So my total cost paid wouldn’t be accurate to items only referenced in video. Bottom line, you can complete your build in steps. For example, on my first build years back, I added the steering stabilizers a year after the lift. Hope that helps.
Beautiful! Honest question though, would it have been more economical to start with a Big Horn? I believe it can be optioned with the LED headlamps and the 12" Uconnect.
Possibly but since dealer inventory is low these days I jumped on this Tradesman. I didn’t want to wait months on ordering a truck. Finding a truck with Vinyl floors, no options, but with the 12” screen is next to impossible.

Even with that setup, the Ram will offer more travel, better ride, and overall better off road performance for less money. There's a reason we prefer solid axles under these trucks!
I’ve always loved off road builds on base model trucks because literally anything you do to them makes it a better truck. Luxury trucks shouldn’t be touched because they always look ridiculous after they’re built.
Run a 33 or 35 with chains ⛓️ just keep the factory offset or AEV offset. It's perfect I run the salta wheels on my 4th gen with 37s they will rub I go to a stock size or 285 (33ish) in winter.
@@CJCOffRoad yeah they mean this truck specifically. If they went the exact route that this guy went. But I guess you probably want traffic on your website so it makes sense why you won’t say lol
AEV has some nice fender flares if you want to run 40’s but I’m really not down with cutting the fenders. I’ve had Nitto Trail Grapplers, Toyo M/Ts, and Ridge Grapplers. All great tires but Nitto’s seem to be the quietest and last the longest in my opinion.
The Tradesman comes standard with vinyl. I also have a Laramie with leather. I actually prefer the vinyl seats with vinyl floors. Much easier to clean. In addition, as odd as it may sound, I have found the Tradesman seats more comfortable overall than the Laramie. Just my preference.
I really wish you guys would do a full non-Cummins 2500 build video. You and companies like you are fixated on diesels in IMHO I would really like to do something with my 2014 HD 5.7 Hemi powered Outdoorsman but there is a dearth of info for non-diesel HD Rams. The 5.7 would probably be a better fit for off road optimization compared to an overweight Cummins.
We've done plenty! We truly prefer the Cummins platform though. Power is better and more importantly, fuel economy and range is better. We just did Mojave road and our Hemi Power Wagon barely made the trip. The Cummins trucks still had a half tank of fuel at the end. With a properly set up suspension system, the weight difference isn't really noticeable, so there's really no benefit to the Hemi aside from lower initial cost. Again, it's all personal preference though, and we offer this system set up for Hemi trucks too if that's your cup of tea.
@@scottmccambley764 you could get a slightly older Cummins for the same price, depending on when you bought it. You have all that extra weight and make the same amount of power as my half ton😂
When you think about it though, this whole build and truck cost less than a optioned Laramie/Limited truck that's bone stock. If you only have so many dollars to spend, and need performance off road, this is the way to do it. We'd say that definitely counts as a budget build. Every dollar spent went to something with a performance oriented propose.

@@22_living what was the cost of build from CJC? Just trying to compare this route vs factory.
@@Wingman813 I’m almost positive it wasn’t less than $20,000
What front bumper is on this truck?
That's the factory bumper with our CJC Intercooler Guard: www.cjcoffroad.com/collections/armor-skid-plates/products/cjc-built-2019-ram-2500-3500-intercooler-guard
How much would a set up like this cost. I’m I’ve been looking at getting a new mega cab and have a very much similar build done for it
It really depends on the system and options, but all parts pricing is on our website! Feel free to shoot us an email if you need help choosing. Sales@cjcoffroad.com
Nice work!
Will the suspension setup work with a 5th wheel rv? I use my 2500 hard
That’s what the airbags are for.
Aside from the airbags on this kit, we also offer the Carli R2 high capacity coils for trucks that need more capacity.
You guys make great vids and seem like great work on trucks. Thanks
Awesome build ! Got a new Chevy 2500 dirty max I’m looking to hook up like this .
We're going to start doing more GM Hd trucks soon!
@@CJCOffRoad I’d like to see you guys install a Kibbetech coilover conversion on a Duramax!
That’s the setup that might make me stray from Ram/Carli.
Even with that setup, the Ram will offer more travel, better ride, and overall better off road performance for less money. There's a reason we prefer solid axles under these trucks!
With all that said, let me know if you wanna hook up the dirty max . I’ll even sport the logo for free 😉
@@albertberumen3500 I think they should offer a Journeyman Lineman discount
Smart way to spend some money!!!
I'm curious what all the aftermarket parts/work cost on this build.
Id wager 15k ish.
Looking great!
Ran into a couple snags, but hopefully my Power Wagon will make it into the CJC shop before 2023 Summer. It's going to be very Dominating. 😏😎😉🥳
We're ready for it!
I’ve always loved off road builds on base model trucks because literally anything you do to them makes it a better truck. Luxury trucks shouldn’t be touched because they always look ridiculous after they’re built.
Wish I would have gotten my truck to yall.
did yall have to regear to run 37s?
Since these trucks come with 3.73 factory gears, there's really no reason to.
Will snow chains fit ?
In the rear, yes. Up front there isn't much room. The better option is to simply run a snow rated tire so chains aren't necessary.
Run a 33 or 35 with chains ⛓️ just keep the factory offset or AEV offset. It's perfect I run the salta wheels on my 4th gen with 37s they will rub I go to a stock size or 285 (33ish) in winter.
Also mine has factory 4:10 gears. I wouldn't want to run a 37 with 3:07 or 3:42 2500 ram gearing.
2 chains
How much would a build like this cost?
Total build cost with truck included?
That all depends on the exact options chosen for both, but all parts pricing is on our website!
@@CJCOffRoad yeah they mean this truck specifically. If they went the exact route that this guy went. But I guess you probably want traffic on your website so it makes sense why you won’t say lol
I’m curious how much it cost just for upgrades.
The links are all above but I can say it cost less than a loaded Laramie. Was fortunate to find a Tradesman with the big screen!
Ram does it right by letting people option their base trucks out unlike Ford and Chevy.
Missing fender flairs.
Not really! The smooth flat fenders is my style.
The only things that I would change/add would be the Nittos to Toyo Open Country R/Ts and a set of fender flares. Otherwise.....perfect!
Have you been able to find fender flares that don't look tacky? I feel like all the ones I see are hideous
AEV has some nice fender flares if you want to run 40’s but I’m really not down with cutting the fenders. I’ve had Nitto Trail Grapplers, Toyo M/Ts, and Ridge Grapplers. All great tires but Nitto’s seem to be the quietest and last the longest in my opinion.
very nice work boys!
Only thing it needs at this point is Bushwacker fender flares....
roof clearance lights left the chat
Tradesman with leather interior?? How?
Pretty sure those are the factory vinyl seats. The new vinyl is actually pretty nice
Anyone know if this particular truck is up for sale? Lol
Nope! The owner is enjoying it in Hawaii!
I want this build so bad
Everything is for sale for the right price!
@@22_living lol one day. I enjoy my gen 4 1 ton too but definitely want a 3/4 ton eventually
GOOD WORK
Perfect build. Love that tire/wheel combo and size.
I really wish you guys would do a full non-Cummins 2500 build video. You and companies like you are fixated on diesels in IMHO
I would really like to do something with my 2014 HD 5.7 Hemi powered Outdoorsman but there is a dearth of info for non-diesel HD Rams.
You’re the one dumb enough to buy a 3/4 ton with a 5.7 hemi, don’t get mad at them. Nobody wants that junk.
@@kanehorath7222 Who's mad?
Well maybe I keep within my budget and my lane. Maybe thats where you should f'n stay.
@@scottmccambley764 you could get a slightly older Cummins for the same price, depending on when you bought it. You have all that extra weight and make the same amount of power as my half ton😂
This is the type of shit black widow customs needs to do
Awesome
I would just keep it stock its a 4 door can't really do that good offroad even with the lift way to big. I would just use it as a truck.
Budget def isn’t the word I’d use lol
When you think about it though, this whole build and truck cost less than a optioned Laramie/Limited truck that's bone stock. If you only have so many dollars to spend, and need performance off road, this is the way to do it. We'd say that definitely counts as a budget build. Every dollar spent went to something with a performance oriented propose.
Budget build and Carli dont go hand in hand. lol
Oh yeah buddy
A bunch of build is like me fixing up my $500 1994 Honda Civics front front end that got hit for $500 thats budget build
Need
Everyone my age will say that their dream car is a Tesla or a Muscle car but my dream car is a truck like that 😍💪🏽♥️ remember that evs didn’t build America 🇺🇸 trucks did.
