  • The Bridle Track is one of those roads that every 4x4 adventurer should visit; from the gold mining history to the unique roads cut in the mountains.

    That little muddy section at the beginning there you can cross the river and drive down it.

    When I worked for Forests NSW part of my role was to check and clean campgrounds! What do NPWS do with all the land they claim sovereignty over. Forest NSW also maintained a good network of roads and trails throughout the Forests.

      We have driven a fair chunk of NSW forest tracks. Lots of locked gates and in turn lots of open tracks that are often technical. Good 4WD touring in NSW.

    Awesome guys, shame about the rubbish, always seems to be bad on the bridle track for some reason 👍. Still a great area though

      It's a massive shame about the rubbish. But, we absolutely loved the Bridle Track and would recommend it to anyone and everyone!

    Doing this trip this weekend keen to see it for the first time will take some bags to collect rubbish!
    Was this via root hog road?

      @LapsofMaps  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We entered via Hill End and finished on the Root Hog Road. Good on you for cleaning up the bush 👍🏻

    can you get to mary flynn with a camper trailer?

    • @LapsofMaps
      @LapsofMaps  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No trailers are recommended for the Bridle Track. The track in most places is wide enough for one vehicle with no pull in bays. 👍

    guys well done, ive been doing the track now for 20 plus years, ive seen the rubbish people leave behind, and it's getting worse. i prospect the Turon, and my faith in Humans as a race disgusts me everytime. Such a beautiful place, but, come a long week end, dirt bikes, yahoos, drunken slobs, and idiots abound. Shooting rampant. Wont be long before they close down the place and we wont be able to camp there. Ive seen one fire pace ring go from a 2 foot ring to well over 2 meters, filled with all sorts of man made rubbish , obviously they think metal burns down. one place i used to visit, toilet paper everywhere, trees cut down willy nilly to burn. what a waste.......oh well, time to find a new spot me thinks..Thanks for the vid.

      The Bridle Track would surely look different over a 20 year period! It is a shame when that happens in the bush; although with saying that we try to clean up as much as we can to keep a good example to how the bush should be kept. Check out the Oxley Wild Rivers, absolutely pristine part of NSW and is free from rubbish.

      Would you be able to drive this track in the 4x4 hiaces?

  • @tonyf7997
    @tonyf7997 ปีที่แล้ว

    Such a beautiful spot and grubs leaving their rubbish is disgraceful. Laws should be introduced that 1st offence is a substantial fine and any conviction after they actually loose the vehicle they travelled in .,That is sold and $’s goes towards upkeep and policing parks and forests

    dont like water crossings what wrong with you lol Roothog is pretty easy as far as they go and a beautiful spot for a camp

    • @LapsofMaps
      @LapsofMaps  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha! That was our first water crossing. We are seasoned at river crossings now after the Victorian High Country!
