Acustica Audio & Tan had the Pre-amps turned off. This is where you get most of the harmonic mojo. Still sounded great with a smooth top end. DMG Track comp threshold needed to be lower to match most of the others... listen to the tail of the snare decay.
thanks for the comparison. i wonder why you ran sand with such a low SHMOD value (isnt that out of original spec?) and DMG Trackcomp is to the left of the red bars (red bars show the range of the modeled hardware unit. Dave just allows to experiment with faster values too. in any case thanks for the shootout !
fyi trackcomp's performance noticeably improves with oversampling. Also you're not using the proper attack and release- you use the control button to shift between the detented options on the hardware, but you can also select times beyond the normal specs like you have here.
The SSL Native Comp did it for me. Imo it has a slight "agressive" tone which makes it great for dirty hiphop/boombap drums. Right after that my choice is the UAD Bus Comp. Cheers
You did great job, thanks! Btw, if you are interested in a few more plugs, since you had FreeComp in comparison(which has a certan vibe to it): Waves RChannel(old one) Melda MCompressor(legacy edition) RedAmption Cheers
bx townhouse and aa sand, tan and psp.....after listening again...sound the most open like Hardware.....you can hear the Quality Plugins from the free and others....night and day....

All settings are tried to be equal. We thank you.
@@HasanDelenHomeStudio Preapm it's important
Acustica Sand on drums, UAD SSL G on guitar. They sound the most natural / musical IMO.
Thank you for your comments 🙏
TAN is not a SSL emulation! It emulates a IGS Audio Multicore Compressor however just one band.

Acustica Sand sounds the best to me
Would've been nice to actually hear these on the two bus and see what they did to a full mix. cool stuff anyway
1. PSP
2. TAN

Hmmm sand NI and bx townhouse has a good low end as compared to cytomic the low end is so weak ... btw U didn't turn on the preamp in acustica sand

Right after that my choice is the UAD Bus Comp.
