Always handy if you can weld, even if it is only just the most basic stuff. When I was younger nobody was willing to teach me, It was always presented to me as if you needed highly sophisticated godlike skills. Later in life I bought an old second hand workshop stick welder, it doesn't even have any switches on it. If you want to use a higher amperage you have to put the stinger and earth cables in a different socket on the machine. The scrap value from the cables for the stinger and the earth clamp is worth more as what I payed for the whole welder. I watched some videos about welding, and now I can weld good enough to weld some brackets or something ornamental. Being able to repair things can save a lot of money. But those little mig welders are also very good for small art projects from scrap metal. Or to create frames for all sorts of stuff in the garden. But I have to Give Corey a special compliment, because his teaching skills are absolutely phenomenal. Very clear instructions, not a word French about it. He kept calm and Corey was extremely patience. Took all the time of the world. I mean, in one word it was just brilliant teaching. 😁Anyway, as always a huge 👍
That’s great! I’ve wanted to give welding a try for so long! It’s such a handy skill and opens up so many possibilities, as Corey’s already shown on the homestead. Just a tad intimidating, not to mention I get so confused by all the different types, so you’re lucky to have a live-in tutor Amanda : ) Corey, would this little welder be good enough for the welding jobs you’ve done on the home build - the support posts & the steps, for example? Cheers, Sue 👍
@@s-c.. it would do almost it all but would want a slightly more powerful welder to weld the thick plates that were the bottom supports on the steel frame floor posts.
Great work guys Thumbs up Amanda well done, ha Corey when in the field what geni do you use to run the welder as my shed is off grid as well and would love to have a welder in it Cheers Mark
Dewalt 8kva. I use that for welding even in the shed. Even though technically our system should handle my bigger welder. Just prefer to run it on the gennie 👍 Amanda says thanks too 😁
So good. Great tutorial. Keep up the great work...

Fantastic! This is a skill I would love to learn. It was be so handy to move beyond joining wood to metal.
@@Bush_Edge_Homesteading_Aus it wasn’t nearly as hard as I thought. Will take practice to do it neatly though!
Oh well done! You are an inspiration
Thankyou lovely 🥰
Good job AJ
