Lotus Turbo Challenge 2 hits me everytime, that music man just takes me back to my mum and dads old house and sitting in my bedroom playing this to death. Great list buddy roll on the next vid :)
I have to second t he calls for Jaguar XJ220. Seeing it on the Amiga made me buy it for the Sega CD. The storyline added to the racing as you had to budget repairs (the damage stopped you from playing bumper cars) and find the cheapest next location (which made geography fun). No matter what I will see in the future in terms of graphics and gameplay, I will never feel again as I felt for Amiga500. This excitement, those memories , will never be replaced
@@oldstylegaming I started with ColecoVision, then C64, Amiga500 and the rest consoles. Now i'm on a high end PC with all the goodies on it, but as i said and its true....A500 was the big deal. For me you missed some of the best driving games on the Amiga: Test Drive 2, Ultimate Ride (can't believe you missed this Motorcycle classic), Jaguar XJ220... I agree with Microprose Grand Prix being up there on your list (indeed top of the ones you included), but you missed some great classics off.
Great list however very disappointed you never included lombard RAC rally, teat drive 2 (my personal favourite) super hang on and Honda RVF. I would also have put jaguar xj220 racing in there even though it was an inferior lotus clone. Gotta say thank you for taking me down memory lane, I dearly loved my Amiga 500+ and these videos take me right back.... Great work.

Great video as always. I guess we could all make our own lists. I've never been a fan of top down racers so most of those I would remove along with Street Rod. I would have had Jaguar XJ220, Tope Gear 2 and Buggy Boy in there.
Street Rod 2 was amazing back in the day, they’ve never made a game like it imo.. buying old cars do them up and drag/street race/pinkslips.. Was only a kid when it came out but I never forgot how much me and my mate loved it

I would have added Super Hang On a genius port but also a brilliant racer by one of the best coders on Amiga ((Archer McClean). The sound effect of the whining turbo is brilliant. Great stuff, glad Indy 500 was #2 as it was my favourite. Used to make the cars crash in to each other behind me and watch the carnage in the rear view mirror 🤣
Top job my friend, you are an absolute champion to put out this Video. This one hit home pretty hard ! (Even though I’ve never spoken in my videos) I love your channel It brings back so many memories, But I love the most is the C64 and Amiga500 videos. Fun fact your number 1 selection in this video was definitely one of my favourites , I used to turn around on the first lap and hit all the cars out so I could win the race but a lot of people don’t realise there was a cheat built in on the game where regardless of your position in the race even if you’re losing and the race was basically finished on your last lap of the race instead of going past the chequered flag you pull into the pits and you would get first place every time. I can’t remember how I found this out But it works every time on every race👍🏻
You should definitely try MS-DOS racing games. Racing and simulation games were the first ones that showed PC superiority over Amiga. PCs had way faster CPUs and 2D hardware acceleration become irrelevant for 3D graphics. Also, PC joystick port supported four analog axis and 4 buttons, so it was perfect for racing games. Also PC racing games quickly adopted powerful 386DX and 486 CPUs that gave high framerate and improved draw distance. There were racing games in every type: World Rally Fever - pushed classic Outrun/lotus-like graphics to it's limits with arcade like super-scaler effects, Wacky Wheels - Mario Kart clone, with just OK gameplay, but awesome music, and super low hardware requirements for it's time. Death Rally - top down racing with 3D-ish graphics, Super Karts - very popular kart racing game, with Wolfenstein3D like raycaster engine, it supported 90's VR headsets. Megarace - CD-based FMV racing, where pre-rendered track is displayed as an animation. It was also available on Sega CD, but PC version worked in 256 colors (up from 64) and looked way better with better framerate. Most of games you listed are also available on DOS. Many of them as good, or even better (higher frame rate), but it didn't stop there. DOS got more advanced games like "Nascar Racing" from 1994 that had fully textured cars and tracks. Games like Need for Speed or Screamer series could easily compete with PSX, Saturn and even arcade games. When it comes to racing games, MS-DOS was the best platform in the 1990-1995, then games started to support Windows 9x.
Wish I could have afforded an Amiga, my uncle used to have one and I used to go around to his a lot, but he used to do a lot of 3D rendering on it. I had a C64 though, great days, tuning that tape to get it working with the pirated games. :p
Nostalgia at its best. A couple of fun facts. In the LETC II there was one track with no refulling spot, if you nailed your racing keeping at max speed all the way instead of getting a perfect time you ran out of fuel just before the finish line! Also in LETC II. You could connect two Amigas with null-modem cable and play with two players on each Amiga. We did at a dorm where I live and it worked well even with a 50 meter cable. Vroom as well as Indianpolis 500, F1GP and Stunt Car racer also came out for PC and well on 80386 machines - some of others likely did also. Wroom was a late release for PC as I recall and it was put out on CD, maybe to try and pretend it was a big game as a selling point. Only since I knew it from Amiga I took a good look on the disc - it was no problem to fit it on a single 3½disc only using normal compression and there was room to spare.
Great memories.. played all those games especially F1, indy 500, Stunt car, Street rod 1 and crazy cars.. few more I played which wasn't on the list we're Test Drive 1 & 2, Nitro, The Cycles and RVF Honda.. remember playing them on my dad's Amiga 1000. Thanks for video 👍
Agree, Lotus II was the best in the series and also the best racing game on the system. The only racing game i enjoyed more was Outrun 2006 - Coast 2 Coast on the XBox. What is criminally missing in this list is Super Hang On, because the Amiga port from the arcade was excellent.
just missed out mate...these are the games that nearly made it i had a short list and these are the ones that were left out ... i nearly put Test Drive 2 in i love that game 4D Sports Driving Nitro ATR: All Terrain Racing Super Hang-On Jaguar XJ220 RVF Honda Test Drive II: The Duel
those stunt car racer tracks are burned into my memory. great video. lots of amazing memories of my amiga. really wish someone like GoG could reproduce the games to play legit
F1 GP and Stunt Car Racer were the best 'traditional racers'. I had both. Doing a full race (never mind a full season) on F1 GP was a killer on your hands.
Vroom and Stunt Car Racer with Null modem cable. That was long racing nights back then. That's an idea for video, great Null modem cable multiplayer games!
@@oldstylegaming That is something I have been wondering for some time. When connecting an Amiga to an ST with Null modem, what happened to the speed of the game? Amiga with its blitter chip and the ST with a slightly faster CPU.
One thing that I most remember about both _Skidmarks_ and _Super Skidmarks_ is that there is a jump-ramp on one of the levels; if you go up this the wrong way something that once made me and one of my best friends collapse in hysterics happens!
Brilliant list , mate ! Stunt car racer , Grand prix , No second prize , Indy 500 , Vroom , Lotus 1-2-3 and the Skidmarks games are the ones I’ve enjoyed the most.
Epic list this, not one sub brilliant game on it. I had loads that could have gone in, i had to leave out Test Drive 2 which was one of my favourite games
old style gaming : Oh Yeah , I forgot that one. It’s one that should’ve been on my list too. What a machine the A500 is. So many masterpieces in all genres. I would’ve serious problems making a top 50 list. Maybe I could pull of a top 100 , but I’m not 100% convinced. Think abou it : Racers Platformers Shoot’em ups/slashers Strategy games , real time & turnbased Point ’n’ click God/building games Puzzlers Simulators-planes/trains/cars/tanks/boats Rpg’s real time & turnbased Adventure/action games Sports Fighting games ALL IN THAT LITTLE PILE OF PLASTIC!!!!
Top notch video. The top 5 of the list I totally agree with. Played those games for hours back in the 90s. In my opinion only Test Drive 2 is missing in this list.
Man, I remember playing Crazy Cars 3, Lotus Turbo Challenge 2 and Jaguar XJ220 back in the day, I need to pick those up again. I wonder where Jaguar XJ220 would have come in your list, I used to really enjoy that one! Keep up the great work buddy :) You've been doing a great job!
Lol this was the ones that didnt make it...but nearly did i had a short list and these are the ones that were left out ... i nearly put Test Drive 2 in i love that game 4D Sports Driving Nitro ATR: All Terrain Racing Super Hang-On Jaguar XJ220 RVF Honda Test Drive II: The Duel as you can see it nearly got in
Geoff Crammond is a God. Formula one Grand Prix still holds up now. I remember having the manual and the box all beautifully presented. A game way ahead of it's time....
Good list and agree with your number 1, but here's some of my favourites, followed by my reasons why Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge is superior to its sequel: Hard Drivin' - You could design your own tracks and make a loop de loop and your lap would be saved as a ghost that you could play against; revolutionary for its time. RVF Honda - Third person motorbike game which had a great sense of speed. Super Hang-On - Another great motorbike game. Road Rash - Ditto, but you can smack people with clubs. Lombard RAC Rally - Incredibly realistic rally game for its time, you would have to deal with damage and obstacles and it was awesome. Buggy Boy - A simplistic but fun racing game. As regards Lotus, the sequel's graphics weren't as smooth in my opinion and the sense of speed suffered. Sure it had jumps and water hazards which were cool, but it had a checkpoint system so you didn't get to know the track and when you didn't meet the checkpoint, it was game over. They did away with the fuel aspect which was an absolutely crucial part of the original; the decision whether to pit in now or save it for the last lap vs your opponent was absolutely nerve-wracking. Going around the world to different locations was awesome and varied the game a lot.
Best thing about MP F1 was that it was a multiplayer game, 4 of us used to play every Sunday till the early hours. Never knew what your AI driver was going to do. Many times changed player to bits of wing missing or rear tail destroyed.
Great list... I was always partial to LED Storm myself. That, Stunt Track (yep, over here) Racer, Super Off Road, and Street Rod were the ones I played (and still do) the most.
One of my favorite driving games was Drivin' Force. While the gameplay wasn't really there, the huge sprites and the smoothest animation for a 2D driving game for the Amiga really impressed me.
I'm 100% right with the one and two. Mricroprose GP and Indy 500, the first very good games in 3D. I also love Micro machine and super cars II in multi gamers was a great hit.
Crazy Cars III and Stunt Car Racer were my favs. No 2nd Place was loads of fun too. Many on this list I never tried, and should some time. Good stuff OSG!
For me personally, my list in order: 1: Jaguar XJ-220 2: Lamborghini Challenge 3: Skidmarks 4: Roadkill 5: Lotus 2 6: Lotus 1 All the others are good as well but not much chop compared to the aforementioned. Of course though, this is completely subjective 👍
Stunt car racer and Microprose Grand Prix took up so much of my time on the Amiga. Even bought an analogue joystick for Grand Prix. Loved the slimey used car salesman I Super Cars 2 aswell.
I swear there was a game I played like supercars but wasn't supercars. It had longer tracks in more of a built up urban + green area, and slightly more iso view. You'd go from bottom left of the screen to top right for longer tracks, loop around and all that. Colors were more vibrant. After years I can't find it and no one knows. I must have hallucinated it.
Formula One Grand Prix head and shoulders above any other Amiga racing game. Shout out to Revs the first racing simulator I got my dad to bolt an old kart wheel to my Atari paddle controller and then mounted to an old joystick base with suction cups, Epic
Vroom was so much fun with the serial cable, F1GP really shined with the accelerator patch, Nitro is 3 player fun, and Red Zone was a fun, if buggy variant of NSP - well, I could go on but I digress... :D
I am really enjoying your top 20 proper retro ( i know people that think the PS2 is retro. certainly not in my eyes and I am glad im not the only one) racing series of vids. Due to your last vid I dug out my old commodore 64 from my vintage console cupboard. I look forward to your next installment
Brief framerate analysis (yes I have too much time). Indy500 ran at about 7.8 frames per second. F1GP ran at about 8.0 frames per second. Analyzing a 3 second clip from each. And we complain about 30fps nowadays! :-)
Honorable mentions.... Continental Circus Nitro Chase HQ Jaguar XJ220 Also, I never really noticed this before but the track shown in the Vroom clip looks just like high speed ring from Gran Turismo.
Roadkill, hell yeah! Also happy to see Indy Heat on the list. Re: Lotus 3: it let me down because it ran slowly and the futuristic levels didn't fit well in an artistic and thematic sense. I also wish the level editor had been more like Jaguar's!
Its Lotus II for mine at number 1, but thats only because I prefer arcade racers over formula 1/sims, but wow this really made me realise how good the Amiga was with racers. I also liked Test Drive II The Duel, and Powerdrift (and probably the only one that does!) and I'm sure there are more decent racers I've forgotten, great video which highlights the versatility of the Amiga, what a system.
i had a short list and these are the ones that were left out ... i nearly put Test Drive 2 in i love that game 4D Sports Driving Nitro ATR: All Terrain Racing Super Hang-On Jaguar XJ220 RVF Honda Test Drive II: The Duel
@@oldstylegaming ah thats another one i loved, 4D Sports Driving.. and the others you left out, wow, just class. Even the driving section in Batman was great! Could have been its own driving game.
The list is good. It's hard to get it wrong with racing games and Amiga, it had so many good ones. I loved Jaguar XJ 220 back at the day, but I think it aged very badly. But I *love* Road Rash and I think it should be on the list. And there's another motorcyle racing game which I think never gets the praise it deserves: Prime Mover. It's really, REALLY fast and smooth and it plays pretty well.
I don't think anyone agrees 100% with any list, but i enjoyed your top 20, great vid! i was a bit sad to see Lambo being so low and XJ220 not even on the list but no biggie :D FYI; on the video description, put the time first then the game (09:08 Vroom), youtube will split your video timeline into chapters then :)
Road Kill has the awesome intro :) Strange that you've didn't mentioned. One of my favorite games! Lotus series is awesome! They've made that super-smooth road gfx and made engine's sound silent... so it looks on par with Outrun arcade. And the music is outstanding, I was able to play and listen it more than in other racing games :)) P.S. probably there was a choice between engine sound and music... Can't remember.
2 player Stunt Car Racer with a null modem cable! Super Cars 2 "fire all remaining missiles". Lotus 1 and 2. F1GP. All the best picks. F1GP and many more were even better on A1200 with increased framerate!
Yeah, running on a fast Amiga with all the graphics options set correctly it is an excellent game, and let you make your own tracks, sounds, graphics, loading pic, etc. Definitely one of the best, though the music is terrible.
Can't argue. Great roundup. I'm glad Vroom was in there. It's still a great Racer today, not relying on Nostalgia to be fun to play. You should check out the unofficial sequel, F1 by Domark.
Very good list. For me, Lotus 2 Will always be number one. 😍 with Formula One Grand Prix in second place. I never understood why people are so bummed out about Lotus 3, it’s a fantastic game that belong in my top 5. Suprised not to see Jaguar XJ220 on This list. Thanks for uploading. Subbed.
Hello, The Amiga had some great simulators, have you thought about doing a video showcasing the likes of Gunship 2000? Really enjoy your content, as a person with a room full of old machines (including every type of Amiga made) and a rare X68000 and Falcon i would love to see more obscure systems like the Archimedies or X68000.
Yeah can't disagree with number 1. What an amazing achievement by Geoff Crammond. There are a couple of games I completely missed that I will have to try now. My personal favs are SuperCars2, Lotus 2 and Vroom.
Great list. I agree with lotus III, something for me just felt off about it, could never put my finger on it, I think perhaps they were trying too hard to distance it from the 2nd, they ended up spoiling the game play a little. A lot of people also like the music, but again for me the music in the 2nd is better.
What a cracking selection! I've recently started playing with Amiga again (only via emulation though), but I'll be giving these games a spin (pun intended lol). Goes to show what could be done with Amiga hardware with proper time and effort. Yes I'm a lookinng you, horrific Outrun port!
Great list m8! Some classics in there to be sure! I bet it was a tough one putting the top 5 in order? I never played F1GP much, dunno why coz I battered Indy 500. I would replace a few in this list, Buggy Boy, Overlander and Super Hang On would be in there, but it's your list so....My favorite has to be Lotus Turbo Challenge 2, blinder :)
Yeah mate super hang on nearly made it ... But then I can't have them all... There were so many good ones...you need to fire you emu up and play F1 mate
No 1 and no 2 were great games and earn their places for sure.. I played them with PC (never had Amiga). With fast pc the fps was better than seen here, which is very important with accurate simulations, where there is no room for errors or collisions. Grammond’s GP2, from 1996, was double as good as the GP seen in this vid. Played it like crazy..
Lotus Turbo Challenge 2 hits me everytime, that music man just takes me back to my mum and dads old house and sitting in my bedroom playing this to death. Great list buddy roll on the next vid :)
Decent list, but it is desperately missing Test Drive 2, Jaguar XJ 220, Nitro and Super Hang On...do a „Best Sports Game“ List next, mate!
I'll add that to the schedule
Was going to mention Nitro! Remember having great fun playing that 3 player.
RVF Honda for best motorbike game

PCs had way faster CPUs and 2D hardware acceleration become irrelevant for 3D graphics. Also, PC joystick port supported four analog axis and 4 buttons, so it was perfect for racing games.
Also PC racing games quickly adopted powerful 386DX and 486 CPUs that gave high framerate and improved draw distance. There were racing games in every type:
World Rally Fever - pushed classic Outrun/lotus-like graphics to it's limits with arcade like super-scaler effects,
Wacky Wheels - Mario Kart clone, with just OK gameplay, but awesome music, and super low hardware requirements for it's time.
Death Rally - top down racing with 3D-ish graphics,
Super Karts - very popular kart racing game, with Wolfenstein3D like raycaster engine, it supported 90's VR headsets.
I might do a video on that, i still have my Ferrari Force Feedback wheel for early windows somewhere
Wish I could have afforded an Amiga, my uncle used to have one and I used to go around to his a lot, but he used to do a lot of 3D rendering on it. I had a C64 though, great days, tuning that tape to get it working with the pirated games. :p
Lol I miss those days
Great list again, I remember Lotus Turbo Challenge for its great soundtrack. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Crazy how much the side view of the Lotus looks like a Ferrari 348/355...
I'm gonna try that petrol thing out
Great memories.. played all those games especially F1, indy 500, Stunt car, Street rod 1 and crazy cars.. few more I played which wasn't on the list we're Test Drive 1 & 2, Nitro, The Cycles and RVF Honda.. remember playing them on my dad's Amiga 1000. Thanks for video 👍
Me and a mate use to serial link our Amigas to play 2 player Stunt Car Racer. Geoff Crammond was and is a legend for this and F1 GP.
Indy 500 was such a great game. Never had the Amiga version, but I did own the DOS version. Papyrus made some great racing games.
Wow. Two of my favourite racing games right next to each other. Stunt cars and Micro Machines! I played those both relentlessly! Great video OSG 👍🇬🇧
Haha thanks for watching mate
You had Katie price advertising bingo before this vid. You must be going up in the world
really lol....or maybe down
Agree, Lotus II was the best in the series and also the best racing game on the system. The only racing game i enjoyed more was Outrun 2006 - Coast 2 Coast on the XBox.
What is criminally missing in this list is Super Hang On, because the Amiga port from the arcade was excellent.
just missed out mate...these are the games that nearly made it
i had a short list and these are the ones that were left out ... i nearly put Test Drive 2 in i love that game
4D Sports Driving
Nitro
ATR: All Terrain Racing
Super Hang-On
Jaguar XJ220
RVF Honda
Test Drive II: The Duel
@@oldstylegaming Test Drive II IS great :-)
those stunt car racer tracks are burned into my memory. great video. lots of amazing memories of my amiga. really wish someone like GoG could reproduce the games to play legit
I had an Atari ST.
Best racing games for that we’re Outrun, Supersprint and Buggy Boy.
OutRun was Notoriously bad on the ST and Amiga though
old style gaming never converted well from the arcade, but playing outrun on any console was great imo.
@@EvilDobermann Yes. Super Sprint was amazing on the ST. One of the best home ports of that game in fact.
I think that is a great idea, I have a null modem... To connect my Atari ST for stunt car racer
@@oldstylegaming That is something I have been wondering for some time. When connecting an Amiga to an ST with Null modem, what happened to the speed of the game? Amiga with its blitter chip and the ST with a slightly faster CPU.
F1GP - Enable no damage, race backwards around the circuit taking out all opponents. I can't be the only one who did that :) Anyway, great list
I was expecting outrun at number 1😂 (what a bad port that was for the amiga)
Lol...i was thinking of using that in the thumbnail for click bait
One thing that I most remember about both _Skidmarks_ and _Super Skidmarks_ is that there is a jump-ramp on one of the levels; if you go up this the wrong way something that once made me and one of my best friends collapse in hysterics happens!
Lol
While I wasnt much into racing games back then, I did play a lot of ATR, somehow it just worked for me, felt smooth and controllable
Agree with you on Lotus III. Lotus 2 was so good that it just wasn't necessary. Good list. Thumbs up.
Think abou it :
Racers
Platformers
Shoot’em ups/slashers
Strategy games , real time & turnbased
Point ’n’ click
God/building games
Puzzlers
Simulators-planes/trains/cars/tanks/boats
Rpg’s real time & turnbased
Adventure/action games
Sports
Fighting games
ALL IN THAT LITTLE PILE OF PLASTIC!!!!
Yeah its a great machine for sure
Top notch video. The top 5 of the list I totally agree with. Played those games for hours back in the 90s. In my opinion only Test Drive 2 is missing in this list.
Man, I remember playing Crazy Cars 3, Lotus Turbo Challenge 2 and Jaguar XJ220 back in the day, I need to pick those up again. I wonder where Jaguar XJ220 would have come in your list, I used to really enjoy that one!
Keep up the great work buddy :) You've been doing a great job!
Lol this was the ones that didnt make it...but nearly did
i had a short list and these are the ones that were left out ... i nearly put Test Drive 2 in i love that game
4D Sports Driving
Nitro
ATR: All Terrain Racing
Super Hang-On
Jaguar XJ220
RVF Honda
Test Drive II: The Duel
as you can see it nearly got in
@@oldstylegaming damn, so close! haha. ATR is another game I liked, but I realise it's not everybodies cup of tea lol
Geoff Crammond is a God. Formula one Grand Prix still holds up now. I remember having the manual and the box all beautifully presented. A game way ahead of it's time....
Good list and agree with your number 1, but here's some of my favourites, followed by my reasons why Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge is superior to its sequel:
Hard Drivin' - You could design your own tracks and make a loop de loop and your lap would be saved as a ghost that you could play against; revolutionary for its time.
Nice list, TEST DRIVE 2 must be there for me one of the best racing games .
nearly was mate...i love that game too
you should play them i had a great time
Thanks for all the memories! Stunt Car Racer was, and still is, one of the best races I ever played.
True that mate
Best thing about MP F1 was that it was a multiplayer game, 4 of us used to play every Sunday till the early hours. Never knew what your AI driver was going to do. Many times changed player to bits of wing missing or rear tail destroyed.
Suprised Jaguar XJ220 didn’t make the list. I remember loving that game.
Great list... I was always partial to LED Storm myself. That, Stunt Track (yep, over here) Racer, Super Off Road, and Street Rod were the ones I played (and still do) the most.
SCR is a proper thrill ride of a game...it's so responsive and you can't take your eyes off the game for a second
One of my favorite driving games was Drivin' Force. While the gameplay wasn't really there, the huge sprites and the smoothest animation for a 2D driving game for the Amiga really impressed me.
I agree, it was the closest thing we had to the arcade Power Drift, with its zooming sprites for the road, a 50 fps. That was supremely impressive.
I think that Vroom (or very similar one!) was the only vector gfx based game on Amiga that really made me to play it! It's fast and smooth.
You keep knocking these videos outta the park👍I was never a fan of top down racing games.
Glad you like them!
I'm 100% right with the one and two. Mricroprose GP and Indy 500, the first very good games in 3D. I also love Micro machine and super cars II in multi gamers was a great hit.
There is another motorcycle racing game that I thought was pretty good, which is Super Hang-On. I had a lot of fun with that.
Crazy Cars III and Stunt Car Racer were my favs. No 2nd Place was loads of fun too. Many on this list I never tried, and should some time. Good stuff OSG!
You should! thanks for watching
Revs and F1GP are the two best racing games ever made because of the way they were ground breaking. Rev on the BBC!!! Incredible they managed it.
For me personally, my list in order:
1: Jaguar XJ-220
2: Lamborghini Challenge
3: Skidmarks
4: Roadkill
5: Lotus 2
6: Lotus 1
All the others are good as well but not much chop compared to the aforementioned.
Of course though, this is completely subjective 👍
Stunt car racer and Microprose Grand Prix took up so much of my time on the Amiga. Even bought an analogue joystick for Grand Prix.
Loved the slimey used car salesman I Super Cars 2 aswell.
I love him when I get the car I want for cheap ...hate him when he's and arsehole lol
Shout out to Revs the first racing simulator
I got my dad to bolt an old kart wheel to my Atari paddle controller and then mounted to an old joystick base with suction cups, Epic
Stunt car racer, all 3 Lotus Turbo Challenges but agree 2 was the best, Jaguar XJ220 and Micro Machines for me
Indy heat was awesome, multiplayer was hysterical as you could run over your opponents pit crew meaning they couldn’t pit that lap!
Vroom was so much fun with the serial cable, F1GP really shined with the accelerator patch, Nitro is 3 player fun, and Red Zone was a fun, if buggy variant of NSP - well, I could go on but I digress... :D
I can't believe that Jaguar XJ220 has not made the list, it was an awesome game
How could you miss Test Drive 2???
Days of Thunder was pretty good too.
Lol
Honorable mentions....
Continental Circus
Nitro
Chase HQ
Jaguar XJ220
Also, I never really noticed this before but the track shown in the Vroom clip looks just like high speed ring from Gran Turismo.
I also liked Test Drive II The Duel, and Powerdrift (and probably the only one that does!) and I'm sure there are more decent racers I've forgotten, great video which highlights the versatility of the Amiga, what a system.
i had a short list and these are the ones that were left out ... i nearly put Test Drive 2 in i love that game
4D Sports Driving
Nitro
ATR: All Terrain Racing
Super Hang-On
Jaguar XJ220
RVF Honda
Test Drive II: The Duel
@@oldstylegaming ah thats another one i loved, 4D Sports Driving.. and the others you left out, wow, just class. Even the driving section in Batman was great! Could have been its own driving game.
And Robocop 3 Driving part too
The list is good.
There's another one called cmblacj viper or somthing that looks class unfortunately doesn't play as good as it looks or it would have been great
@@oldstylegaming Yeah, BLack Viper was released very late on the system life. Didn't like it too much either, but it indeed looks great.
I don't think anyone agrees 100% with any list, but i enjoyed your top 20, great vid! i was a bit sad to see Lambo being so low and XJ220 not even on the list but no biggie :D
FYI; on the video description, put the time first then the game (09:08 Vroom), youtube will split your video timeline into chapters then :)
Road Kill has the awesome intro :) Strange that you've didn't mentioned. One of my favorite games!
Lotus series is awesome! They've made that super-smooth road gfx and made engine's sound silent... so it looks on par with Outrun arcade. And the music is outstanding, I was able to play and listen it more than in other racing games :))
P.S. probably there was a choice between engine sound and music... Can't remember.
Probably 'Lotus II' but 'Test Drive' was the first I was really impressed with. I just came from the C64 :D
I was going to mention great list! I need to sub to this guy! Then I realized I had already subscribed at some point in the past. 😁
Lol
2 player Stunt Car Racer with a null modem cable! Super Cars 2 "fire all remaining missiles". Lotus 1 and 2. F1GP. All the best picks. F1GP and many more were even better on A1200 with increased framerate!
watchign your old amiga lists while im waiting for the amig amini
nice list.. but I do miss Xtreme Racing :)
'Burning Rubber' was a good title for the Amiga 👍
Good list. Missing Overdrive for me though :)
sorry was hard to get them all in mate
@@oldstylegaming I demand a refund!
Subbed.
Thanks mate
Hello,
The Amiga had some great simulators, have you thought about doing a video showcasing the likes of Gunship 2000? Really enjoy your content, as a person with a room full of old machines (including every type of Amiga made) and a rare X68000 and Falcon i would love to see more obscure systems like the Archimedies or X68000.
Ill defo do a simulator video and plan to do some more obscure systems in the future... one will defo be the Archi there some great games on there
In terms of playability No Second Prize needs to be nearer the top. However I can't argue with your top 3!!!
8:33 that soundtrack takes me right back....
Yeah can't disagree with number 1. What an amazing achievement by Geoff Crammond. There are a couple of games I completely missed that I will have to try now. My personal favs are SuperCars2, Lotus 2 and Vroom.
Vrooms speed is immense
@@oldstylegaming yeah man. My jaw hit the floor the first time I played it. So smooth and fast.
Lol there is an out run remake called cannon ball that game is great
@@oldstylegaming By 'Modern Vintage Gamer' no less. One of my favourite TH-cam channels.
I'll check that out
yes, but GP2's minimum spec was 8 times as much memory and 9 times the clock speed of F1GP
@@MartinJSUK No wonder, it was much more deeper simulation.
the pile ups you could achieve in indy 500 set its physics engine apart for donkeys years well until dderby
