It was so cool to see a Lockheed LC-130H Hercules from the 109th Airlift Wing of the New York Air National Guard and a Lockheed WP-3D Orion used by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2019. These two aircraft play a pivotal role during dangerous missions.
When I hear that sound, I run outside to Miss Piggy or Kermit flying over. It's a very unique sound... I love it! I'm glad your base is in Lakeland. Keep up the great job that you do!
Wow I’m blown away it isn’t specifically reinforced or altered for flying through hurricanes/major weather events and it comes like that out of the factory!
Awesome , this aircraft flew through Hurricane David 1979, a hurricane that impacted my personal life since it destroyes our city in the Dominican Republic and forced our family to relocate to other countries.
This is absolutely amazing. The NOAA's "Kermit"is an actual flying laboratory. The views inside the "eye" magnificent, especially the night video.

Thank you guys for what you do.
If you were to lose power and ditch into the ocean, probably one of the worst times to ditch with 50-100mph winds and 10-20 foot swells.

Nice to see the NOAA guys out there getting data on hurricane Ida (their planes show on flightradar24 when they're in the air). Science ftw!
Thank you so much for your incredible work! What a wonderful informative site!

These pilots and aircrews gotta be wired just a bit different to the rest of us. I know they've got bigger spuds than me!
Silent professionals, very heroic......
So awesome. Best job on the planet 🌏
Do you need to be in the military to fly for the hurricane hunters?
