    Soul has got both the GT4 and GT4RS game won with their valved rear boxes and street and competition headers. They truly make these cars sound perfect and the way they should have sounded from the factory. It’s amazing how they can limit the overbearing aspect of drone that so many other manufacturers can’t seem to get a handle on. Only other back boxes that sound nearly as good are from JCR imo, and while they sound great and look beautiful, Soul still has them beat in terms of value.

    Love this video. Porsche makes such a great product but their weakest point is the exhaust. Pretty amazing what you can do and all the configs available. And someone better snatch up that touring now!

    Sounds great! Archie Hamilton just posted a video with a 4RS with a JCR straight pipe that sounds pretty nasty as well.

      I watched it. I think the magic of the Soul Performance is that they made the valved exhaust with some canisters that eliminate drone. I’m in love with this setup. Will make a dedicated review of it because it sounds too damn good.

    Thx! Super interesting video. Problem for me is maintaining warranty. Don’t want to loose that on a +300k car. A just back box can be a solution, but I want those headers singing that 996GT3 song.

      You won’t void the warranty with headers. Porsche is not McLaren or Ferrari. I would do my setup… headers, valved rear, and catted OAP’s. This setup made me keep my car because of the cars duality. It’s barely louder than stock with valved shut, and becomes a crazy machine valved open.

    Fantastic job man. Also, thanks for transparency and sharing the folder on the tunes. I too have been waiting to pull the trigger on the exhaust set up on my 4RS. Did they mention if the resonated OAP would be similar to OAP + Cat in terms of performance/sound? At what point do you think tunes will be coming up?

      Performance is the same for resonated and the competition OAP’s. Sound is going to better on resonated than OAP + CAT and competition per John. He’s sending me a set. Will let you know. That being said I’m in love with how it sounds currently and no CEL

    Great video! the configuration that you liked best, was the Competition Headers, cat over axel pipes (not the competition over pipes), and the valve muffler, right? thank you for your clarification..

    as one looking for strictly performance gains on the track, we don't spend much time in the 2000 to 4000 rpm range (idling in the grid?). A little disappointing that there aren't more gains higher up the rev range (5000 to 9000 rpm)

      I think its a product of the car, not the exhaust. I tried Dundon on the car as well and the result was worse.

    great video thank you. As a GT4RS owner, I love the intake noise inside and I don't want to amplify or change the noise inside the cabin. In your opinion, Which configuration will achieve that?? catted OAP's only?

      I have the soul resonated OAP. It is very close to stock sounding. Only louder once valve open on higher rpm range. Induction noise unaffected.

      Competition over axle pipes because the stock headers have cats. It doesn’t modify anything inside the car. It just amplifies outside of the car. That being said, my setup increases tone in cabin but doesn’t change the induction sound. It amplifies I interrupt sound. The car is 2x as awesome as it was. I have competition headers, catted OAP’s, and valved rear section.

      i don't know why soul didn't design the rear exhaust the way so we can use those expensive tips. JCR has the tips i think. @@MiamiMiles

      ​@@arta9769 because they tried and lost power. JCR had to make the exits of the exhaust smaller to fit those tips. That losses power. Soul does not like to lose power, which is why they did not retain the stock tips.

    Sorry if I missed it, but for the "stock exhaust" baseline...was that w/the valves open or closed? If it was w/valves closed, be curious to see the delta w/the valves open...because the factory back box is basically straight through w/the valves open.

    Great video! Exhausts make the car, period--don't care what care, if it doesn't sound right, it is no performance car. Put an AWE Track on my M4 Competition, and although I had wired the flaps fully open 2 years ago when I got the car, stock exhaust sucked, BIG improvement! Also had either Bullets or pulled the NPP fuse on my Corvettes. Flaps are moronic. You buy a performance car to sound like one. Not a UPS truck. Anyway, fun test!

    Picking up my 4 RS this Friday. Thanks for this video. I'm still confused though. What is your "near" perfect setup? I should just probably drop it off at Soul for them to install. I'm not far from them and have their product on my GT3 Touring. Big fan of their products.

      Valved exhaust, competition headers and catted over axle pipes. It’s barely louder than stock with valves closed, and sounds like a cup car at 9k. Probably the best exhaust system I’ve ever owned
