I used to have the 1 up on people but in comparison when shooting at someone with the automatico, hellriegel or even the basic Smg for assault and some medic guns, they'd still kill me. Now? nah. We even.
It wasn't nerfed lmao. There was an issue with its sweet spot range. It would one shot people if you shot them in the arms and (I think) legs. Now you actually have to hit people in the upper torso to one shot them. Obligatory GIT GUD

If you look at the damage numbers, most of those BAR kills are actually steals. Most weren't outright 100 damage kills. Not taking anything away from Jack, but team assists were making the BAR look like a God gun there.
The BAR reminds me of the SA-58 OSW from Battlefield Hardline. Both had 20 round mag, but the BAR has less damage, as it takes around 5-8 shots at medium range, while the SA-58 could shred groups of people with 3-4 shots needed to kill at that same range

Damn... i was mostly in love with hellrieger and some medic guns but after going to play when they updated the game i was so shitty then i took a look in the update notes and it seems they nurfed most of the guns..
Alan Playz It was also used a lot in the Vietnam war. The gun is an iconic American made weapon at it is a fucking great gun and I am happy that they actually made it effective now in game!

The BAR was indeed not that good in WW1 since they thought the massive gun would be effective with the doctrine of "Walking Fire." But since the BAR spawned in WW1 I was just expressing my pleasure that one of my favorite American-made firearms was getting some love. Francesco I agree, its a very lazy effort by Dice. They have basically spliced the campaign map from the 'mud and blood' storyline, the one where you have to retrieve the engine parts etc, and tacked that onto a section from Quinten Scar map, and plonked a downed Behemoth in the field. They should have put a bit more thought and effort into their first dlc map that's for sure.

Battlefield Support c100 mg15 suppressive 200 rounds, if you burst properly never overheats, I take out snipers and spot/suppress them until our team takes them out if I don't do it first lol. every kill is a supress/spot bonus , I love support class
I tend to agree... I have went back to that gun after getting 27 service stars with the BAR... I think I am at 15 now with the MG 15 Suppressive... I can easily average 40-50 kills a match with the MG-15... Taking down 3-5 people at one time with that gun can be the norm if you know what you're doing...
has anyone at DICE ever seen a BAR fire full auto? without a bipod it's like shooting a mule. Why do they nerf a tier 10 scout weapon which already has the major drawback of only firing a single round, not to mention the sluggish muzzle velocity of the Martini Henry, but then upgrade guns like the BAR. sigh. Yeah, I am salty about the MH nerf, but i don't get the push they're putting on using auto weapons. I can't even find a standard issue rifle server on XBONE. sigh sigh moan moan. Still a great game though, and I enjoyed the video Jack!
EL BENNO Well the support class is outrageously underused compared to the other classes so they had to buff the weapons in order to make the class more appealing. I don't agree with the Martini Henry nerf though, and this is coming from someone who hasn't even unlocked it.. As you said, it's drawbacks made up for its power, and I personally never felt aggrieved if I was killed by it.
Matt I WBA i totally agree! i only really ever play medic or scout, and like you just mentioned i've never seen the appeal of support. The part of the buff with the BAR i don't get is why JUST the bar, why not the whole roster. Now next time the BAR will get nerfed because everyone will be using it haha. EL BENNO It seems you are miss informed. All LMGs had a accuracy buff and increased range. Only the Benet, Huot, Lewis, and BAR got damage buffs though. And the "nerf" for the Martini was just a bug fix. It is a skill cannon now. Gotta aim at the upper body to get that OHK just like EVERY other bolt action rifle.

So they have over-buffed the BAR thanks to the run-and-gun whiners who wanted to play the support class like an assault (Levelcap mainly). Note they all use the run-and-gun variant of the BAR. It was already great, did not need a buff. So much for it being WWI, the dominance of automatics will turn it into another generic shooter.
Unfortunately that's how they appeal to all the kids that want to play it like a generic shooter. My hope is that they focus on creating more realistic game modes, for people like us that want a more realistic experience. Like issued weapons only, rifles and pistols only, and maybe one with a limited amount of automatic weapon access as well.
Strange how in the game the BAR is put in the category of LMGS or light machine guns when in real life America classified it as a rifle when it was introduced to the American army in WW1. It shoots like a LMG but has the look of a rifle so???
Valhall Awaits Not exactly. The spray made it really hard to be useful in its designated range and would lose out in the range most of the time. With the accuracy increase with the damage it actually makes useful in its designated range. The BAR now has a fighting chance in close to mid combat. Just make sure you don't become a fool into thinking it is overpowered, ok bud?
This is kinda the reason I went back to Verdun... the whole automatic experience Bf1 did just didnt feel right even if its one of the most beautiful and best sounding games I have ever played. Dont misstake this for hate I love Battlefield I just hope they will do a mode like they do for rush players now the new one with more infantry focus. But for us ww1 buffs that kinda love what Dice has done but want it more authentic in one sence. My suggestion for a new mode (this wont harm anyone in love with the game as it is) would be to give classes access to bolt rifles... force support players to stationary their lmgs before being able to fire. Lock Snipers to about 2 or so per team but buff their points for scouting and such maybe even add some bonus if they kill squad leaders. Also make them game a tad bit longer but the aim is to reduce as much of the automatic stuff and focus on the rifles. While they do this they could look into the ammounts of grenades to not risk nade spams as is a common issue with the game. Oh and the veichles should still be there but maybe some unorthodox aspects need a look over there to. All in all I think this would make me come back for this mode call it realism or whatever but just this more ww1 a little bit closer to the history book version without going full trench and more akin to the early mobile eastern and western campaigns as this game kinda portrays more so than the static west front trench war of attrition of the mid to late part of the war.
good idea you say, haven't you guys played since the 13dec patch , there is a new setting SIR = standard issue rifles , so all classes all get only 1 standard weapon ... the one that was actually the standard weapons of for example the ottomans , british etcetera and non of them are automatic weapons. So in a 32 playter vs 32 player match you have one side 32 times the same weapon and the other team 32 times another weapon, so in total only 2 weapons in such a server.

the only issue i have with the new map is the limited space when in an aircraft. especially when someone is using an AA gun and can hit you in a good portion of the available airspace, unless you try to fly to space that is.

When you actually do a kolibri challenge and can't say it's good anymore... it brought down my kd .06 points after 3 games of conquest. If you ever do this challenge go for camping snipers
The zeppelin is set as part of the map. This particular level has the train available to swing the game. In other level's however, the zeppelin is featured as a usable vehicle where it has several gantry spots for players to rain down mayhem. It can also be navigated around the map to capture hold points. It can also be blown out of the sky and crash down onto the map to remain there for the rest of the match.

I think what lets this gun down is the fact that it has 20 bullets and if fires fast so they run out quickly the mp trench and other guns like that fire fairly fast and have a decent amount of ammo

Then again, I am more on the country side, so internet is always limited. 3mbps used to be what we could get around here. We get 30 with our new provider that just came to this area, but it's not always reliable.
Minecast Joe 3 of the 4 guns you claim to be overpowered are the starting guns you get from the specific classes, people use them because they are first and pretty decent, no where near overpowered like you claim, model 10a hunter was overpowered but it isn't anymore after balance change, stop fighting losing argument.
The HE crossbow and HE mortars make an amazing combo! Great for taking out clusters of enemies at c and or in buildings! I don't really like the FRG crossbow though in my opinion!
The mg15 is garbage, like this guy said it does awful damage. (Of course you can still get kills with it, but it's got nothing going for it other than a large ammo capacity) A good compromise is the Madsen, good damage, great accuracy, easy recoil, and 31 rounds makes for basically an assault rifle in ww1. The only downside is the giant mag that stick out the top blocking your view but once you get used to it you'll shred.
Madsen and the bar are the only good lmgs at all ranges. mg15 will get beat out 100% of the time at close range, unless the other person just sucks at aiming lol

There is no bullet in the chamber. well until you pull the trigger and the bolt goes forward, picks up a round from the magazine, seats it in the chamber and immediately sets off the primer all in one motion. But the round only rests in the chamber for a split second.

I am just glad they are giving out some love to other LMGs making them more usable.
I earned my first weapon service star for the Mg15.
Battlefield Support c100 mg15 suppressive 200 rounds, if you burst properly never overheats, I take out snipers and spot/suppress them until our team takes them out if I don't do it first lol. every kill is a supress/spot bonus , I love support class
I tend to agree... I have went back to that gun after getting 27 service stars with the BAR... I think I am at 15 now with the MG 15 Suppressive... I can easily average 40-50 kills a match with the MG-15... Taking down 3-5 people at one time with that gun can be the norm if you know what you're doing...

has anyone at DICE ever seen a BAR fire full auto? without a bipod it's like shooting a mule. Why do they nerf a tier 10 scout weapon which already has the major drawback of only firing a single round, not to mention the sluggish muzzle velocity of the Martini Henry, but then upgrade guns like the BAR. sigh. Yeah, I am salty about the MH nerf, but i don't get the push they're putting on using auto weapons. I can't even find a standard issue rifle server on XBONE. sigh sigh moan moan. Still a great game though, and I enjoyed the video Jack!
EL BENNO Well the support class is outrageously underused compared to the other classes so they had to buff the weapons in order to make the class more appealing. I don't agree with the Martini Henry nerf though, and this is coming from someone who hasn't even unlocked it.. As you said, it's drawbacks made up for its power, and I personally never felt aggrieved if I was killed by it.
Matt I WBA i totally agree! i only really ever play medic or scout, and like you just mentioned i've never seen the appeal of support. The part of the buff with the BAR i don't get is why JUST the bar, why not the whole roster. Now next time the BAR will get nerfed because everyone will be using it haha. I don't know, I'm just salty about the Henry haha!
EL BENNO It seems you are miss informed. All LMGs had a accuracy buff and increased range. Only the Benet, Huot, Lewis, and BAR got damage buffs though. And the "nerf" for the Martini was just a bug fix. It is a skill cannon now. Gotta aim at the upper body to get that OHK just like EVERY other bolt action rifle.
Alpha Morty well you should be able to because now you have to facing front on to someone to kill them with the gun, no reason to use it over the smle now, basically the same gun but one has more ammo

So they have over-buffed the BAR thanks to the run-and-gun whiners who wanted to play the support class like an assault (Levelcap mainly). Note they all use the run-and-gun variant of the BAR. It was already great, did not need a buff. So much for it being WWI, the dominance of automatics will turn it into another generic shooter.
Unfortunately that's how they appeal to all the kids that want to play it like a generic shooter. My hope is that they focus on creating more realistic game modes, for people like us that want a more realistic experience. Like issued weapons only, rifles and pistols only, and maybe one with a limited amount of automatic weapon access as well.

Strange how in the game the BAR is put in the category of LMGS or light machine guns when in real life America classified it as a rifle when it was introduced to the American army in WW1. It shoots like a LMG but has the look of a rifle so???

Valhall Awaits Not exactly. The spray made it really hard to be useful in its designated range and would lose out in the range most of the time. With the accuracy increase with the damage it actually makes useful in its designated range. The BAR now has a fighting chance in close to mid combat. Just make sure you don't become a fool into thinking it is overpowered, ok bud?

This is kinda the reason I went back to Verdun... the whole automatic experience Bf1 did just didnt feel right even if its one of the most beautiful and best sounding games I have ever played.
Dont misstake this for hate I love Battlefield I just hope they will do a mode like they do for rush players now the new one with more infantry focus. But for us ww1 buffs that kinda love what Dice has done but want it more authentic in one sence.
My suggestion for a new mode (this wont harm anyone in love with the game as it is) would be to give classes access to bolt rifles... force support players to stationary their lmgs before being able to fire. Lock Snipers to about 2 or so per team but buff their points for scouting and such maybe even add some bonus if they kill squad leaders. Also make them game a tad bit longer but the aim is to reduce as much of the automatic stuff and focus on the rifles. While they do this they could look into the ammounts of grenades to not risk nade spams as is a common issue with the game. Oh and the veichles should still be there but maybe some unorthodox aspects need a look over there to. All in all I think this would make me come back for this mode call it realism or whatever but just this more ww1 a little bit closer to the history book version without going full trench and more akin to the early mobile eastern and western campaigns as this game kinda portrays more so than the static west front trench war of attrition of the mid to late part of the war.

good idea you say, haven't you guys played since the 13dec patch , there is a new setting SIR = standard issue rifles , so all classes all get only 1 standard weapon ... the one that was actually the standard weapons of for example the ottomans , british etcetera and non of them are automatic weapons. So in a 32 playter vs 32 player match you have one side 32 times the same weapon and the other team 32 times another weapon, so in total only 2 weapons in such a server.

the only issue i have with the new map is the limited space when in an aircraft. especially when someone is using an AA gun and can hit you in a good portion of the available airspace, unless you try to fly to space that is.

When you actually do a kolibri challenge and can't say it's good anymore... it brought down my kd .06 points after 3 games of conquest. If you ever do this challenge go for camping snipers

The zeppelin is set as part of the map. This particular level has the train available to swing the game. In other level's however, the zeppelin is featured as a usable vehicle where it has several gantry spots for players to rain down mayhem. It can also be navigated around the map to capture hold points. It can also be blown out of the sky and crash down onto the map to remain there for the rest of the match.

I think what lets this gun down is the fact that it has 20 bullets and if fires fast so they run out quickly the mp trench and other guns like that fire fairly fast and have a decent amount of ammo
If your gun gets muddy and you go in water does it get cleaned I just haven't seen it it so is yes I thought so.

Lemonadical I used to play with an Ethernet. But I switched my PlayStation a room that doesn't have something to plug it in. I was still getting the same results when I had the Ethernet. Then again, I am more on the country side, so internet is always limited. 3mbps used to be what we could get around here. We get 30 with our new provider that just came to this area, but it's not always reliable.

The HE crossbow and HE mortars make an amazing combo! Great for taking out clusters of enemies at c and or in buildings! I don't really like the FRG crossbow though in my opinion!

Caden Yancey That's why I use the mg 15 suppressive. 200 round drum seems to solve that problem for me.
That gun is horrible at close range compared to the bar storm. The fire rate is too slow to compete against really anything close to medium distance.
POCGUITAR Works fine for me. Since it's an lmg the hip fire works great and allows me to be able to react quickly to anyone close.
The mg15 is garbage, like this guy said it does awful damage. (Of course you can still get kills with it, but it's got nothing going for it other than a large ammo capacity)
A good compromise is the Madsen, good damage, great accuracy, easy recoil, and 31 rounds makes for basically an assault rifle in ww1. The only downside is the giant mag that stick out the top blocking your view but once you get used to it you'll shred.
Madsen and the bar are the only good lmgs at all ranges. mg15 will get beat out 100% of the time at close range, unless the other person just sucks at aiming lol

Dylan porter, I believe the reason is the open bolt design. There is no bullet in the chamber. well until you pull the trigger and the bolt goes forward, picks up a round from the magazine, seats it in the chamber and immediately sets off the primer all in one motion. But the round only rests in the chamber for a split second.
