I purchased my GT-1000 about a year ago and am just now getting around to experimenting and learning how to use it. I've watched, and will continue to watch all the numerous videos demonstrating all the different ways of using it and setting it up to do different things. That said, this video is my go to video for now. Your articulation in all your descriptions on the use of this machine is perfect for me and it's easy to see why that "manual mode" is the way to go with this machine. Thank you Jack.

I sold my GT-100 for this because of the bass and guitar effects. Coming from a GT-100 user, this really is a huge step up. However, it's much more complicated than its predecesor

    It's a Roland/Boss great keyboards great pedals !
Have an old 70's Chorus it's been stomped on 10 trillion times and it wont die ? Also Roland Keyboards are top notch ! A buddy had a Boss pedalboard that was flooded still works too !
I was heavy into synth programming back in the analog days and still have their first sampler also !
    Enjoy your playing man !

I wish I should’ve seen your video on this unit before I sold mind a year and a half ago, oh well maybe re-order and give it one last shot.
Luv your patches, not super heavy hard rock, metal, very good rock sounds which I was trying to shot for but for some reason could never get it.
But after watching your videos it is possible to get a good medium rock type sound. Boss are known to be very heavy metal type sounds and 80’s hard rock type. With what I do these days, I’m trying to shot for that Brian Adams rock sound with clean shred on solos and not so overly overdriven, somewhat the sound your getting when soloing on the bridge. Again thanks for your post, might give it another shot.

I've been using the GT-5 since 2000. I wasn't considering other effects pedals... ~there's so many things to consider about music now! is it gay~ everything gah~ So! i was looking at this synthesizer! moog one and i wanted it! to replace my Yamaha Motif XS 8 Workstation i was like wow it's really nice and so expensive i would have to get lost by my girlfriend to save for it. i keep thinking that now!
everything i use is so out modeled... alesis HD24... microphones... bass... strings~ my skeletal framework nowl~
today i was looking at effects boards and have it narrowed to the boss GT-1000 and the Line 6 Helix which i noticed get's alot of approval
    i enjoyed your video!
    but!
which one is perfect! i hear the GT-1000 has the better tonal quality to found in and around it
what i am sacrificing like a chicken to moloch to forgive and forget every "thing" i've been hearing on the Helix nowdou?
i want you to keep one thing straight on it in mind here now... i buy my talent! i put the money forth to make the grade here~ so that's exactly what i'm looking to do now.

The harmonizer effect is distorting(not in a good way...) and sounding very muddy. You should try placing the respective effect block post-amp. You'll get a more realistic, cleaner result.

i really want to like the gt-1000; the very idea of using a boss board seems to be very attractive to me, as i am a 90s kid; but each time i hear a boss mfx, that's exactly what happens, it STILL sounds like the 90s. idk. it could be me, though.

    • @JeremyHalterman
      @JeremyHalterman 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Eko Transit I’m also not a fan of the stock “BOSS sound.” The reason I chose the GT-1000 over the competition is that AIRD legitimately makes it feel and respond like a real amp, and that’s not something you can dial in through EQs and IRs. That said, I did spend time dialing things in to my liking, and I’m now happier with my tones than I was with my Two-Rock and Morgan amps and a pedalboard of boutique pedals. The GT-1000 is definitely worth trying out in person to see if it’s for you.

Perhaps you can help.if I want to go into the manual mode, I need to kick down (Up Arrow + CTL1) to go into the manual mode. To do so sometimes I have to turn my foot at different angles, and if my foot isnt perfectly level, I could be pressing only the UP ARROW and changing the preset. Are you experiencing the same limitation on stage. Its no fun switching into an unexpected patch in the middle of a song. Think its possible to assign one controller switch to enter manual mode?

    • @miremaker

You can set up a different combo for manual mode, or get a separate boss foot switch switch that you can exclusively assign to that function. 👍

Hello my fellow tone enthusiast! Could you tell me how playing through this in your private jam sessions feels compared to one of your favorite amps? I’m thinking of ditching an amp I love in exchange for this setup. I ultimately get bored being stuck with a single amplifier, but at this time can’t quite afford to buy all kinds of amps. Your input would mean a lot. I’m considering a GT1000 with 2 of these frfr cabs. So long as it doesn’t sound like a storm of angry diarrhea, and it feels like genuine guitar amplification..What do you play through? Do you replace your amps with something?

The biggest leap is the speaker emulation for sure, you can often get great sounds out of much older units, but that is usually through real guitar speakers, using IR´s will often make a big difference on many older units.

I feel you’re wrong there, as you have to physically try it in a music store, compared to others like a Helix, Headrush, or a Profiler. If you’re just going with your ear, and you’re on a budget, then I would agree with you. It really depends on the type of music you play, alone at home, or in front of an audience or band. If you feel it translates your playing style, and you’re motivated to create with it, then it’s perfect for you. I’ve been playing electric for over 30 years, and this is the most flexible system for any gig I could ever get, (weddings, bar bands, rock and funk, or jazz).
