Dude it's MICHAEL ROSS from Gypsy Rose and I thank you so much for thinking of us and digging it.,. absolutely killer...thank you so so much...if you know of any rock festivals wherever your near, please please please let me know...My God thank u... Michael Ross Gypsy Rose
Thanks for the message Michael. As I said I thought Gypsy Rose should have got more attention than what they got. A great album that I still enjoy playing. 🤘
You definitely need to check out the band Saints And Sinners. I believe their only album was self titled and was released in 1992. Absolutely killer hair metal album from start to finish. Classic case of being too late to the party.
Check out michael ross solo album and gypsy rose demo albums all are great wish michael ross would do the jeff scott soto thing and just sing with lots of bands love his voice@roachman627
That Bangalore Choir release is a classic. Bangalore Choir has actually released 5 albums with of course David Reece being the constant in the band. The latest release Center Mass is a throwback to the On Target release. David Reece (who's a very dear friend of mine) is one of the busiest singers in rock and metal to this day.
Absolutely LOVED Shadow King. Not crazy heavy, but dark. Last great Lou Gramm record and Vivian was really killer. Like a race horse being held back. Another similar super group one-off record, HSAS was a great one with Hagar, Schone, Aaronson and Shrieve.
I will agree with Trouble Tribe! Love that album! Dagger is quite good too! Melidian I own too (just ok for me)... I have that Front album thanks to you! :) I have that Gypsy Rose too... (and a few honorables you mentionned)... I would have added the Beau Nasty one?
Beau was considered but I only really like a couple of songs. Like how I sent you my old copy and kept the sealed one :) Knowing my luck I'll break the seal and find the record warped :)
Not sure if all these are "hair"metal, but are great one & done albums. Sun Red Sun Last recordings of Ray Gillen. Feinsten "Third Wish" Beyond Fear (Ripper Owens) Steeler Red Sea "Blood" Desperado "Bloodied But Unbowed"
I love all these albums you mentioned🤘👍💯💖. Beside, Laos (GER) - We Want It 1990, Saints And Sinners (CAN) - ST 1992, Wild Ride (NLD) - Tension And Desire 1993, Hiroshima (ESP) - ST 1989, they are also my most precious collections among numerous 1980s and 1990s one-done hair metal albums. Hope you love them🙂
@@rockandmetalinvasion Wonderful, sir. Thank you for reviewing these precious one-done albums. I cherish them so much. This morning Michael Ross from Gypsy Rose recommended your video to me. "Gpysy Rose - Prey" is always a marvel in my life. I am glad to see Gypsy Rose stand on the top position among your collections.😃
Blue Tears, Melidian, technically neither are one and done but they are jn this context, Katmandu, Witness, Triangle - Raw Feed, Company Of Wolves, Dirty Blonde,
I do like that " Salty Dog " album. But can totally understand why Geffen put there marketing machine behind G N Roses rather than them. I think there was an early New Zealand band called WW3 as well with Paul Martin. Does " Push - Push " qualify as a one and done album?. Cheers Steve🤘
Lot’s of good stuff. Good on Shadow King and Gypsy Rose. Great albums, would be on top of my list as well… along with Roadhouse, featuring former Def Leppard guitarist. Julliet in ‘90? Also…Red Dawn, on the back end in ‘93. Tristan Avakian’s guitar playing is a force. Chuck Burgi and David Rosenthal. Nice on Signal. That’s a great album. Someone in the comments mentioned Laos. You sir, get a gold star for the day. “I Want It” blew me away with the vocals first time I heard it. That led me to Craaft. I was going to mention Kick Axe, but I discovered they actually had quite the discography. Cat In Boots, Kicked n Clawed, did they only do one? They reminded me of Faster Pussycat. Fair Warning? No, I think they had others. Blue Tears? They did Bon Jovi better than Bon Jovi during their run. Nope, looks like they did one other in 2006. Wall of Silence’s Shock to the System? Nope, they did another in 2005. This is harder than I thought. Fun topic! Thanks!
Yeah lots of bands i thought were one and done and then you check out their discography and see they released another album well after the band had ended. Love that Red Dawn album. Shame it's not on vinyl. I actually strongly considered it but couldn't find the cd of it. I'm sure I used to own it.
I played it in the weekend thinking for sure it would make it but apart from a couple of songs it's just ok. Also they released an album in 2018 - Lost Treasure - which is probably just left over tracks.
Hello Steve , I think you missed one .. what about Heavy Bones ? That was an amazing album , and I'm pretty sure it was a one and done .... Rest of the list was really good too .
@rockandmetalinvasion Ah ok, that would be an excellent pick up to have , Its a really great album .Every track is really good , definitely a one album wonder in my opinion ..
@annebentley1728 oh yeah ! I didn't realize this . That's very cool. Thanks for the information. Maybe there is another one album wonder he was in also lol .
@@annebentley1728 Forgot about that band. Some good songs. They did put out Demonstration prior to the album but that was more of demos ep for Japan only.
Great intro to this topic. I disagree with leaving out bands like Wildside who had a different-genre second album two decades or more after their definitive contribution. I don't think a group of musicians simply using the same name when there is only one original member should exclude an original band from the category. Also, you didn't specify whether or not the bands had to have the classic 80's look or just the music. i.e. make-up, poofed blond hair, dayglo Japanese guitars and spandex tights etc My contribution, is:: 1. Based on that description I should like Orion the Hunter but it hasn't happened yet. Will have to give it another listen. Thanks for the great comment.

I have the Melidian disc in my car cd player. Solid disc cover to cover
I agree - Very solid. Shame there wasn't a follow up.
@rockandmetalinvasion yup, never figured it out, but I was too busy doing the same thing 🤣
s/t -- Heaven's Edge
Want Some -- Roxy Blue
s/t -- White Trash
Electric Rattlebone -- Blackeyed Susan
Some of those bands will feature on an upcoming episode of bands that didn't quite qualify.
War Babies & Bad4Good.
War Babies, Cats in Boots, Heavy Bones.
War Babies will be discussed on the next episode
Dont dorget Signal and Eyes

Good call. I've heard it online. Not an easy one to get a physical copy.
That's a great album!
Rockhead s/t is a very good one and done album in my opinion. Good show Steve
Thanks and thanks for watching

A great vocalist. I was recently listening to an album he did with Tango Down. Good stuff.
Does anybody know if Kiss of the Gypsy put out more than their debut album because that's amazing and would be a definite contender??
Got that album. They did actually put out an EP with a different vocalist a couple of years ago.
@@rockandmetalinvasion yeah I researched some after my question and found out. That was a solid album in my opinion!!!
Yes HSAS is good. Good comparison. Vivian's work prior to joining Def Leppard was really good.
Another few really good one and done's are Beau Nasty, Roughhouse, Sheriff, Alias, and Ron Keel's Fair Game
Sheriff and Alias share the same vocalist.
@billimhappilymarriedgregor1896 yes, Freddy Curci
Alias did release a 2nd album many years after it was recorded
@@rockandmetalinvasion yes, Never Say Never... I completely forgot about that release and I even have the CD.
Some great stuff there and some I will have to get my hands on!
Gypsy Rose was amazing. Mike is a great guy. nothing could touch this album imo.
Totally agree. Shame they only got the one music video.
Check out T-Ride self titled album on Hollywood records from 1992, the cd is difficult to find, but it’s videos are on TH-cam, one and done 👍
Yes I know them A cool original sound but never really caught on with me.

Sun Red Sun Last recordings of Ray Gillen.

I have the Sun Red Sun - Not Badlands quality but always good to hear Ray on vocals. Steeler is a good suggestion.
Salty Dog is Great
Solid but not top 10. Also they did release Lost Treasure in 2018.
I was a disc jockey in college on a alternative radio and we played the Front who I believe are from Kansas City. Great Pick!!
Surprised they weren't more successful
What was the nane of the first one in the top 10 on CD? You didn't say the name and kept shaking it.
Oh wait it wasn't in the Top 10
I Napoleon - Named after the lead singer Steve Napoleon

If Push Push qualified they would have made it but they put out that ep a few years ago. I think the Paul Martin band was World War 4 not 3 :)
I'm writing these albums down. So I can check them out. If I can.
I do that as well :)
Manic Eden was a killer band that as far as i know only had 1 abum. Featuring tha amazing Ron Young of Little Caesar on vocals. Great album
Great album. Kind of came out when grunge was at its peak in popularity and didn't get much attention.

The Front were a great band. Good change from hair metal.
Yes. They were a little different from the usual bands coming out at the time.
Witchcross
The Witness album is one of the greatest rock albums EVER!
That's high praise I'm not gonna disagree
SALTY DOG!
