I really love that you just let people talk in your interviews. It drives me nuts when someone is about to say something interesting or juicy and the interviewer cuts them off to talk about themselves. I’ve been waiting for this interview. I love Taime & FP!
Great interviewer and interviewee. Great bringing up the Denny's in Hollywood. I almost ran over Mark St. John when he was crossing the road. I slammed on the brakes, we gave him the thumbs up, and he smiled and waved. Hollywood was awesome in the 80's. Taime looks and sounds great for 60. I turn 60 next month and look it. Thanks Jason.
Taime is an incredibly sharp, incredibly resourceful guy. He was always thinking a little broader musically than everyone else. I remember when Poison got signed, we were at their place on Washington with Riki Valentine. Tamie said to me that he was going to put a band together, he didn’t care if they could play as long as they looked impossibly cool. If Poison could get signed, he’d get signed in 6 months. I laughed and rolled my eyes. A few months later they played their first show. 1- they looked impossibly cool. 2-they were a total force of nature live 3- they got signed in what felt like 5months! Great guy. Best pink leather jacket in LA.
This is awesome thnx for posting this. Faster Pussycat was so cool.i wore the tape Wake me when it's over out in summer of '89. House of Pain still brings a tear to my eye to this day. Love the band and thank u from the bottom of my heart for giving me the soundtrack to my teens.
One of the best interviews yet! I've been a fan since I was 18 n I'm 53 now it held my attention the entire time and that's sayin something. By the way I'm from Lexington NC like Wednesday his music kicks ass just like your show Jason 🤘🖤
“Wake me When it’s Over” - is the sleaziest and greasiest record ever! What a great band! Fantastic interview Jason - your style and approach is always very well done!! ⚡️⚡️
Great interview J-Son! I enjoy how you let the guests talks without cutting them off and you choose to go in chronological order too. I started liking FPC as i got a little older. I myself found out i was type 2 diabetic as i found out i had colon cancer last year! Health is important and sometimes u can be impotent too!!
Great interview Jason! I was at their last show on the Kiss tour in Miami back in 92. My friend and I were the only FP fans in the front row and after the set, Taime said thanks and the whole band shook our hands on the way out. Brent threw his guitar at me and I got into a fight with 5 guys over it lol. Good times
Awesome interview! I’ve been a Faster Pussycat fan since the first album came out…my sister worked at Camelot Music and bought it for me. I was only 8 years old haha! I saw the band a few years ago, on tour with LA Guns and Tom Keifer. They sounded amazing! Looking forward to new music…Like A Ghost and NOLA are top notch, so I’m ready for more!
No doubt, especially knowing all the wild times of drugs & debauchery we did & had together with Taime & Riki back in the day at the Cathouse. Whenever the Cathouse comes up in conversation all I can say to someone is, "you had to be there to understand." Just keeping it a buck here ya dig! +++Peace Funk & Rock n' Roll 4 Your Soul My Friends+++ 🤘😜🤘
This is a great interview. You are very good at this, Jason. It is a conversation. Feels like Taime is comfortable and he is actually enjoying talking about both the good and the bad. Looking forward to his book now. Thank You for this Jason!
I saw them open for KISS back in highschool. I bought Fasters t-shirt cuz it said Wake The F*ck Up D*ckhead in glowing letters. I wore it to school the next day and teachers told me i had to either change shirts or turn it inside out!! 😄😄
My band plays 4 Faster Pussycat songs. And 2 or 3 more FP songs very badly. Work in progress. Love this band. My favorite since 15. I have guitar tab books for first two albums. Looking forward to book, Taime. Met you @ Bubbas in MN. You were super cool. Hot merch chick
Great interview, FP one of the great LA bands, lucky to have seen them a few times including the first 2 records. Faster and GnR Manchester UK 87 is one of my top 3 gigs.
I remember seeing F.P. on the very first tour it was supposed to be G n R but ended up being F. P. opening for i think Ace and Y & T in Slc Utah , And Taime would say in beetween songs BUY OUR RECORD , WERE BROKE AND STARVING , Funny shit for sure !!!
Love me some Faster Pussycat Taime Downe is such a great guy did a vip at the arcada everybody was great n such down to earth had a fantastic time everyone signed my levi jean jacket. Love faster Pussycat
That was a great interview jason, thank you!! Taime talking about how the merch is their big thing now...going to their site now to order another trucker hat and t-shirt. Keep rocking it Taime...pussycat rules!!
jason this was an awesome video - great stuff - wish you had some more time to talk about chad danny and sam bam and some more of the current band stuff but still loved it
absolutely - i just got to spend some time with them before a recent show and they are such a cool down-to-earth bunch of guys but i get it - i saw them open for motley in albany, ny 1990 killer show
I saw Faster Pussycat headline a small club September 8, 1987. They played like they knew they were hot shit and on their way. I had the record already, but it took a while to grow on me (the GNR record hit me immediately since I already had the Live Like a… EP and was somewhat ready for what was to come). At the time of release, I thought it strange that FP were being promoted by Elektra as “the next Motley Crue”. Later on, I saw them being promoted as a mix of Aerosmith and Hanoi Rocks, which was way more accurate. An early local review mentioned that Taime “did either the best or the worst Steven Tyler imitation”. On a side note, I didn’t find out until years later that Taime was in the Bondage Boys. I heard this band on college radio in either 1984 or 1985. I liked the song and the band name stuck with me.
Hey Jason wanted to reach out and say hello love the channel love the interviews have been a fan of Faster Pussycat from the beginning and I met Eric Stacy when he filled in for the BulletBoys in 2000 and I got a long story about that he gave me his number and I sent him some money and never heard from the guy again
Absolute best one yet! So entertaining and inspiring. I remember buying "Appetite" and FP's debut on the same day and my forever changing.
I really love that you just let people talk in your interviews. It drives me nuts when someone is about to say something interesting or juicy and the interviewer cuts them off to talk about themselves. I’ve been waiting for this interview. I love Taime & FP!
Wake Me When It’s Over is one of the greatest sophomore records of the genre and their best easily .
Great interview, great history

Thank you for this interview. Taime is one of my favorite singers. Whipped is badass, my favorite FP album.
