I've been playing flute for 14 of my 18 years and I've always thought of the minor harmonic scales as the Egyptian ones. Also, harmonics are so much easier to remember than the melodics, pentatonics, and augmented scales.

You can add a portion of the Harmonic minor scale into the Phrygian Dominant by sharpening the 7th note, making it a half step between the 7th and 1st notes in the scale. It sounds pretty awesome

Harmonic minor is Egyptian. Phrygian is the 5th mode of harmonic minor, so it can sound Egyptian, but not as much as harmonic minor does.
