A little backstory to this song...when it's starting out and everyone is warming their voices up, one of the back-up singers motioned to Steve to "Come on in here Baby...". He was standing back from his mic, and she was unaware of the strength of his voice. When he cut loose mere seconds later, she looked at him like she didn't believe that voice was coming out of that small guy. RIP Steve, still missing you...

So lads, It seems that you have discovered Humble Pie. Steve Marriott the lead singer and guitar player was in a band called Small Faces. Small Faces had a drummer named Kenny Jones, who was in The who after Keith died. They also had a keyboard player named Ian McLagan and bass player called Ronnie Lane, who played with Kenny Jones in a band called The Faces which featured a singer who had just left the Jeff Beck group called Rod Stewart and a guitar player named Ronnie Wood who plays currently in the Rolling Stones. Humble Pie also featured a guitar player named Peter Frampton who went on to be Peter Frampton. So I would suggest a song called Tin Soldier from Small Faces and the Paul McCartney song Maybe I'm Amazed by the faces as contenders to be listened to.

Humble Pie was the most slamming live band I ever saw. Three times! SO much energy, killer groove, tooth-shattering power. Steve Marriott was hands down the greatest rock singer ever and live he delivered MORE than his studio tracks. Your next track should be "Four Day Creep" from Performance: Rockin' The Fillmore. Then "I'm Ready" "I Don't Need No Doctor" "Hallelujah I Love Her So" from that album, then "Black Coffee", "Up Our Sleeve" "C'mon Everybody" "Hot 'N' Nasty" and "Thunderbox".

If you like the grit and raw sound of this, I highly recommend the "Humble Pie Rockin' The Fillmore" live album! That album still has Frampton in the band (not that I'm a huge Frampton fan). The 23+ minute "I Walk of Gilded Splinters" is well worth your time, with some really fine guitar interplay between Marriott and Frampton! "I Don't Need No Doctor" is a straight fire rocker. Steve Marriott is the vocals/guitars you like, and if you can handle his voice, you'll love the Fillmore album. This bare bones, almost guttural style showed up later in any number of bands! (from AC/DC to Guns N' Roses, to The Black Crowes, to The White Stripes IMO) Steve Marriott was in The Small Faces, and when he left to form Humble Pie, Ronnie Wood and Rod Stewart came into the band from Jeff Beck's group. They changed the name to Faces and put out several really gritty, rocky, bluesy albums. Try this rauchy raw rocker.......Rod belting out "Stay with Me" th-cam.com/video/f514cAZucCg/w-d-xo.html

Saw them live in 1973...they opened for Foghat..their first set was killer but when Foghats road manager got busted for pot at the airport in Frisco, the band didn't make the flight and missed the show. .Humble pie came back out and played the rest of the show..it's was phenomenal!! It's was a party!! Festival seating so everyone just crushed the stage and rocked out...best concert ever!!! You gotta do more Humble pie!!!

Gotta tell y'all. I'm in my 50's, and I can't seem to get tired of y'alls reactions to some of these songs. Warms this old bastards heart to see the younger generation getting a tast of the tunes I grew up with, rather than all this weak ass rap crap that's always being blasted today. Gives me hope for the future to know that there's still some yung-uns out there making sure the classics never die. Growing up in Detroit, close to the birthplace of Bob Seager, he's always been one of my favorites. I hope you guys haven't heard this one before, because I'd love to see what you think of one of his classic... If you haven't done it yet, take a listen to Bob Seager doing "Come To Papa". Give your ears a treat, you won't regret it. As for Humble Pie's "30 Days..." Outstanding. I make sure that one is played at every party I have. 10 out of 10 for style guys. Keep up the stellar work!

Yeah, but it has been a very long time since I've heard it. Travers is a Guitar Hero's guitar hero. And his band member Pat Thrall is a major major player in production, he's the one that brought Pro Tools into producing in the mid 90's. The entire P.T.B. are major players, Mars Cowling is very well respected in the bass player community and Nico McBrain and Tommy Aldridge got their first big break playing drums for him. P.T.B. had a nice little run for a couple of years, but have nearly been completely forgotten.
