Afghan Whigs are one of greatest rock bands of any era! It’s upsets me that they are not more recognized and praised for their amazing songs and talent 😢
It’s a good thing. They’re alive and well and appreciated by few, as opposed to being hijacked by the tribe of nomads that control the industry and proved to turn everyone into pop stars and drug addicts. These are Midwestern boys. Let them be.
Whigs withstood the test of time. It's crazy to think this is coming up on 30 years and that all there 90's albums still sound fresh. Few if any of their peers can say the same.
This is one of my all-time favorite songs by any artist. This song stands the test of time. I love it as much, if not more, today as I did the first time I heard it almost 24 years ago. Love it!!!
It's 10.23.23 and the world is crumbling at the moment. When this blew up in 1993, it was so remarkably exceptional and explosive. The video went with the song flawlessly. The band couldn't have been tighter. Handsome Greg, from Ohio!, was the perfect representative of how cool, wise and sincere we are here in the middle of the world. Even now, 30 year's later, this song is just as powerful, as timely and moving as it always was and even more. The clock of Life is ticking and the Afghan Whigs have truly left a everlasting mark on Rock n Roll, art and culture that will never be erased or forgotten about or unappreciated. Thank you Mr. Dulli and the rest of the Afghan Whigs, your true fans will always Love you and we know it's mutual. -❤☀️ ••• ps - I had a dick for a brain back then too.
@@SunSimLord This deserves a few thousand more likes my Friend. This record was a tour de force lyrically and from a musical perspective. SO PASSE to say, but it really doesn't sound like much I've ever heard before or since. P.S. "Hear me now, and don't forget!"
Dulli is king of the people!!! We were into bad drugs then and this music was a great companion. Clean now!!! Greg has written some scores that still make me shiver. Underrated to say the least!!!
As a drummer obviously loving this, but those guitars and bass…all mixed in it just rocks this song all the way through. Thanks for this. At 54 I still blast this on 11
Uma das Músicas mais incríveis da História do Rock. Parabéns Afghan Whigs, acabei de ouvir hoje novamente a música "Gentleman" e ela continua SENSACIONAL!!!
They played a clip from this song during a break in the Cubs game on the MLB network yesterday and, I understand, they were flooded with calls from people complementing them on the choice.
I can't believe Gregg didn't get an Oscar nod for the video performance - as well as the snub in the vocal slay..what year was this who won the awards? -love you afghan whigs-
Has there ever been a more charismatic performer than Greg Dulli? Jagger, Morrison, Dylan--they're practically pale shadows compared to the Afghan Whigs genius.
When you say bending of the octave explain what that means. I believe you're talking about the guitar, but I suppose it could be something as well. Peace.
Record executives (libtards who profess equality, but are the most supremacist human beings on the planet) said that the band needed a black guy in the video because it was too “white” and Midwestern for national consumption. I agree. I’m Indian-American. If the black guy wasn’t in the video, I would have thought the band were KKK. True story, according to CNN and CNBC.

This is facts bro.
Black love is in top 3 of all time
Probably didnt want to sell their souls
Most underrated album of the 1990s.
It’s a great album, but it’s not even their best!

I have the same numbers. Time is relative.. weve come so far to be back here in the future!
that guitar solo is like wtf awesome even now. Rock On!
Every now and then there is a band which writes an amazing piece of music. This is one of them.
One of the greatest songs ever written. Love this album!

Agreed! Gentlemen is a perfect album.
Excellent. Greg and the boys nailed this.
When you see a video from this era, cry because… nostalgia… and then you’re like. I still have the shoes that girl is wearing. Full circle. This band.
one of the best bands I've ever heard of
LOVE this song, this álbum, and this band. Dully rules
love Afghan Whigs!
Afghan Whigs is completely underrated...
One of the great wahwah solos,,hendrixian
One my favorite albums from that time period i saw them live trying to remember more about the show 💪💯
Una joya desde ke salió buenísimo es poco yeahhhhhh 😊😎💪💪
Os caras recriaram, genialmente, o clima noir melodico dos anos 60 em que alma e corpo andavam suspensos do chão.
С 1996 года..Afghan whigs-Black love!!
Влюбился в этих ребят,по сей день мурашки по коже!!
Deborah-Pearl as well!!
They played a clip from this song during a break in the Cubs game on the MLB network yesterday and, I understand, they were flooded with calls from people complementing them on the choice.
Ronald Rodriguez SERIOUSLY? That is SO f*cking cool! Hats off to the dude that decided to slip it in there at that?!
The best album ever made! ❤❤❤ Thank U...
These guys nailed it!
I can't believe Gregg didn't get an Oscar nod for the video performance - as well as the snub in the vocal slay..what year was this who won the awards? -love you afghan whigs-
Efff awards. Grow up.
Man this brings me back 😬
What means "the words I thought I'd choke I hardly recognize"?
Everlasting
This song never gets old
Has there ever been a more charismatic performer than Greg Dulli? Jagger, Morrison, Dylan--they're practically pale shadows compared to the Afghan Whigs genius.
They are all great.😌
l love this song
Never saw the video. Very nice.
Oh hells yes so very very good !!!🙃
EPIC.
Awesome!
Looking forward seeing them in San Francisco in October again!!!
Your attention please.
Afghan Whigs Gentleman
Great.
Luv ya guys XXX ❤️🤣
Understand do you understand?
Yes
So much drama in his voice. And I don't care what anyone says, they invented that bending of the octave
When you say bending of the octave explain what that means. I believe you're talking about the guitar, but I suppose it could be something as well. Peace.
❤❤❤
wow
Hello Grandad 1:12
Wooooow Is he still around?
What's with the Name of Band???
'The band got their name from a little known biker gang of White Muslims, who were objectors to the Vietnam War.'
I love you Melisa ~ 420
Anyone know who the black guy is? He looks familiar.
Van Hunt
elizabeth gray
That's not Van Hunt. They didn't start working together until 2013.
he looks a bit like joaquin phoenix
Looks more like Justin Trudeau.
LIKE AN HURRICANE
Why he changes with the black dude? xD
Eduardo That is weird, thought I was the only one noticed.
Did you notice the old dude or just the black guy?
@@adg_87 5 years later and it is still awkward.

4 ppl have no soul
This is a weird video, I'll just stick with the song.
Hilarious lyrics, nice sarcasm...
Unfair? FUCK ON. - Nirvana facebook.com/mediattackmp4
Unfair? Grunge is NOT dead.
Unfair? That's one sexy model, I don't think I could get married by law though. Sexxxy relationships sell and make big money, short or long.
I was around when they started, at Sudsy's.
Great album. Great song.
But wow this video is horrible.
I hate myself so very much
Hope things are going better now .
That was a really bad experience for my ears.
You must be deaf.
