Fountain Falls via Bullant Spur and Middle Ridge Traverse in Lamington National Park

- Fun Fun Hike! but tough. Took us just under 3 hours to reach Fountain falls and the long and fun creek hop back out to stairways passing through few smaller waterfalls along the way. Highly recommend picking a nice hot day to tackle this hike so you can enjoy the water as you creek hop out.

Awesome effort doing that as a day trip. Have only done it as an overnight trip. Camping in the middle of the rainforest is amazing, one time we saw hundreds of firefly’s.
Thanks Tim, I can't imagine doing that route with camping gear 😀, but I can imagine it would be awesome camping in the middle of the rainforest.
Right, so you went to Fountain Falls via the Middle Ridge Traverse, but then rock-hopped down Canungra Creek (East Branch)..you must have passed the Giants Stairway. It was the Bilingooroo Cave you passed (I can read qtopo!) Then turned left, downstream to Stairway Falls. Must have been an incredible effort to get back before dark. I'm not sure I would want to tackle it purely due to the risk of getting caught out after dark. Well done!
Yes Darren that's pretty much the route we did. We managed to get out probably 30min before it got dark so it was a long day, but a fun day.
Ahh Gympie Gympie's, the jerks of the plant kingdom.... I would have face planted on every rock there! LoL. How's the shin going now? Looked like a beauty!

The bird at the start of the video is probably a brown Cuckoo-dove.

A big day out and still no platypus!
Yeah it was a long day .. but we expected it and got the bonus slips and falls along the way lol.. it took only an hour then expected but we did spend lots of time mucking around at each waterfall.. damn no platypus, I didn't really want to scare the poor guy if it was there .. if it's meant to be then it's meant to be =).
