Combat looks like it would be a bit frustrating because the enemies don't really react to your attacks. Looks like a dodge/block would have been nice and maybe being able to stun enemies out of certain attacks like heavy ones. If they end up tweaking the combat I'd probably be interested but not really for me at the moment

I am also a 100% keyboard & mouse player, though I have a Steam deck and use it from time to time for platform games only.
I will have to wait for them fixing the sprinting+jumping issue before I even consider buying this game.

The stealth kills felt pretty underwhelming. Dark Messiah had great animations and weight. Anyway, great content as usual.

I didn't catch this review coming but I am glad I did. It is very interesting what some of these more indie developers are doing with the sorta elders scrolls/ fallout sorta open world style and gameplay. I guess what I am trying to say is it is very nice to seem some sort of competition to Bethesda and big AAA developers in these past few months with Tainted Grail and now this. That being said on 7/13/23 its 29.74USD from 34.99usd which seems worthy of a shot for sure.

The regular price is 34,99 €. I think, that price is ok. The game is decent. I had fun with the demo. But traditionally, I don't buy games at release. I like to wait for the first few patches. :)

The keyboard sprint/jump thing on PC sounds like a ghosting issue for your keyboard. Maybe something to check, some keyboards aren't set up to do specific combinations.
That's what I was thinking.
First thing I checked, I have a couple. Main one I use I've played and reviewed hundreds of games with and never had a similar problem, but it was the case with my backup as well.
I have a lot of mechanical keyboards (a bit of a nut for those) and played the demo on a Novatouch, which has inherent N-k rollover, because it's a capacitive board, and I had the same issues there. It's just janky for some strange reason. Sometimes the jump would just not register. I have fallen to my death a fair few times as well, just playing the demo.
I played the demo on 2 different keyboards and had the same issue. It is a design flaw not a hardware flaw IMO. I play tons of games with jumping mechanics without much issue.

If it's by a small team, at least it's a reasonable starting point.

So I got the game for $30, I'm happy to support an indie game that looks promising. I do hope that they gather feedback and make updates on the game. Rooting for them especially since on paper this is a great fit for me

Tried the demo and agree with your review. The backstab was definitely underwhelming. Felt like there was no weight to it at all and they just fell over. I'm on pc and don't have a controller. The jumping puzzles definitely took some getting used to. I'll buy it on sale because overall it was fun.

kinda strange when dark messiah had these physic effects and this game didn't. Dark messiah was truely ahead of its time.
And noone will make a game as good because that was the cut off point for that style of game. They did it with that, Diablo 2, the list goes on. Master plan, gotta love it!

Dark Messiah of might and magic was amazing .....I really miss games like that. This game does NOT seem anywhere near as creative, polished and fun as Dark Messiah, unfortunately. As much as I appreciate indie games, it's a real shame mid and triple A studios refuse to make these games anymore.
There was a similar game 3 years ago called Elderborn.
Was that game made by 15 people ? You can learn to overlook somethings, and have an enjoyable experience.

Yeah people knew what I meant, I make hundreds of videos a year so there's gonna be a mistake that slips through here and there.

Im a bit picky with my games.. Ill probably skip this one. Looks pretty, but it definitely gives me AA vibes with the actually gameplay and environments. (yes, Im aware it is AA). I hate when my weapon just phase through enemies, and doesnt provide a feeling of connecting with my target. Hit and miss, feel the same... like nothing

After trying the demo I knew the combat wasn't going to gel with me. That lack of hit weight and overall clunkiness just put me off of it.
Why would you make puzzle platforming in a first person game ? Sometimes I don't get design choices...
Even in the Portals when you needed precision jumping it sucked, but it was rare

Bought it one release, player for a bit over 6 hours. Never had "running and jumping" problem. The game, overall, seems decent. I hope the devs will take the criticisms to heart and make their next project even better.

I feel bad for mortismal. He has starfield and balders gate dropping back to back. Longest games ever to 100% 😂 will be fun though as starfield is the biggest most expensive game of alltime ever made and Balders gate is the best crpg of alltime.

This review is SOOO far removed from IGN's 2 calling it painful and a slog to push through and actually finish. It makes me wonder if it's as bad as they say because you didn't bring up almost anything they mentioned. Also they apparently had constant bugs and crashes.

Anything paid has to be disclosed at the start of the video, beyond just being morally objectionable as a review channel I could be subject to fines that start at about 40k for not making the appropriate disclosures, and I assure you indie devs aren't paying that kind of cash even for formally sponsored stuff.
English isn't my first language but is it just for me that the name of the game feels off? Like gramatically incorrect? Shouldn't it be The Order of THE High Human/s?
That sprinting jumping thing essentially makes this a broken game at this point.
I am genuinely baffled how the reviewer for IGN gave this a 2 out of 10 worse than literal garbage like Gollum and Redfall. The platform bug, plentiful puzzles and weightless combat I can see being frustrating enough for some to make this a miserable experience but that low? Yeah i don't think so, though not like IGN is trusted by most these days.

well i dont have a pc controller, so there goes this game...
Most controllers meant for something else will still work on PC. Xbox and PS controllers are very common in PC gaming if I use a controller for my PC it's a dualsense and I don't even own a PS5.
Honestly, this game looks so arcade-y compared to the Dark Messiah you've referred to in the beginning of the video...
Am still trying to chase down a game that has that type of feel. Still failing.
