sir plz reply to this comment , regarding the prob in this vdo which starts at 23.50 sec, the prob is 2 solution having M;W ratio as 3:2 and 5:3 , when it is mixed in equal quantity the ratio would be what? my soln is take 2 ltrs of each hence it will be 6/10 milk from first and 10/16 milk from second, solving this we get 8:5 as the resultant ratio of m:w but ur answer is diff from me, sir plz clear where im doing mistake

In what ratio must a person mix three kinds of metal costing Rs.60/kg, Rs.75/kg and Rs.100 /kg so that the resultant alloy when sold at Rs.96/kg results in a gain of 20%? Ans is 1 : 4 : 2
M1 = metal costing 60/kg , M2 = metal costing 75/ kg and M3= 100/ kg.
SP = 96
Profit = 20%
thus CP = 96/1.2 = 80
Using allegation, M1 : M3 = (100-80)/(80-60) = 20/20= 1 : 1
Similarly, M2 : M3 = (100-80)/ ( 80-75) = 20/5 = 4 : 1
My question is M1 : M3= 1 : 1 and M2 : M3 = 4 : 1 so according scaling of ratios we get
M1 : M2 : M3 = 1 : 4 : 1
But in case of alligation, we add the common element so the answer becomes M1 : M2 : M3 = 1 : 4 : 2 (1+1)
Why is the asnwer 1 : 4 : 2 and not 1 : 4 : 1.
