API574 Table 1 provide the Outside diameter.
Table 3 provide the permissible tolerances. Hence, for SA106 provide the +-12.5% as manufacturing tolerance.

    Thanks for this wonderful lecture
Just wanted to clarify/get clarified on your explanation of Weld Joint Strength Reduction Factor
You mentioned that in CS pipes if temperature is greater than 900deg F, we have to refer to the table. But in general, all CS pipes have W=1.

Hello! Which of the nozzle wall thickness values is the rejection value? Calculated minimum wall thickness from int/ext pressure, or min wall thickness from UG-45? ta or tb?

    ASME II PART A1
16.3; Thickness - The minimum wall thickness at any point shall not be more than 12.5% under the specifie wall thickness.

Correct, Or in other word: the thickness of the standard pipe after manufacturing tolerances has 87.5% or 0.875 of it's nominal thickness for sure, so you can count od .875 of thickness.

Sir the temperature range is given upto 1500 Fahrenheit only for SS materials. What should i do if I need to calculate the pipe thickness for SS material which has the operating temperature 1000deg Celsius?

    dear inspection 4 industry
    thank lots for your efforts
can I ask you a question?
when I do piping wall thickness calculation with all B31.3 (last edition) code considerations I get some answers without identified schedule numbers according to B 36.10 M-1015
As example :24" with 20.62 mm wall thickness
as you note this wall thickness didn't have a schedule number while (schedule 40 for 17.48 mm ) and (schedule 60 for 24.61 mm)
can you kindly provide me with your answer and advise

      NPS 8,
(XXX Strong) = 0.875. from Normal wall thickness table API RP 574 Pipe Schedule table

    • @tajaulamaofficial3012
      @tajaulamaofficial3012 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Pipe tolerance is 12.5%, which 0.125. Then, just minus it with, 1.0 (100%) -0.125 (12.5%) = 0.875 (87.5%)
