  • Sixth seeds Andrey Rublev and Marketa Vondrousova were the biggest names to fall in the Wimbledon 2024 opening round. Vondrousova was the defending champion and fell to Jessica Bouzas Maniero in straight sets. Rublev had another bad anger outburst during his loss to Francisco Comesana, hitting himself with a racquet seven times. Top seed Iga Swiatek advanced past Sofia Kenin, but her draw is still very challenging.
    0:00 - Intro
    0:37 - Vondrousova loses
2:19 - Rublev loses his cool
4:37 - Mpetshi Perricard, Djokovic win
7:26 - The end for Andy Murray
    8:54 - Iga's section still difficult
    11:00 - Other women's results
    13:00 - Day three OOP

I'm hapi for Robin as well. She's a hardworker & is not as hyped as Coco, etc.
I still shake my head when pundits kp saying Iga is "in danger", etc. Let's pause for a sec & look around all the players around lga in Top 5. All of them, all of them (Saba, Ryba, Coco, Pegula) have just one (1) title so far in 2024. But lga has 5 titles & counting 🙄. If that isn't progress+domination, then my Mum is a man😂.

Thanks Christian, always love your comments. Regarding Rublev he needs to take some time away from tennis to focus on his deteriorating mental health. It has disturbed me for a while. He is a talented player but I think his behaviour is not good for the sport. When I watch him I am always on edge, just waiting for him to have a meltdown.

I didn't know was pretty been following her wins though. Rublev is the most self hating guy on tour when he doesn't play well. We all saw him beat his knee and draw blood before. He needs to compose himself or he will never be with his peers like Zverev Medvedev Tsisipas you don't see them going crazy they all have seemed to take huge loses well. He was a 4500 dollar favorite. I'm glad it was too much to bother placing in parlays. I was shocked about Vondrosova I met her she was close to a 900 dollar favorite and this is why we take the points on the underdog with women.

I used to find Rublev's actions funny. I like the different personalities and contrasting styles of the players. Whether it's the calm nature of FAA or the wild and interactive Kygrios, or the roars of Djokovic. I like it all.
But it's too much from Rublev. It's hurting his game and if he doesn't stop, it will continue to get worse. What also happens, is his opponents enjoy playing against him. As soon as they see his explosions, it gives a big boost to the opposition player's confidence.
But it's also about maturity. He's not a kid. He needs to grow up and change because it's embarrassing. He's a fantastic player, but he needs help. He needs to change his ways. I wish nothing but the best for him. I believe he can do it and we'll see a better Rublev in the future.

Is wta tennis becoming a fix like other sports??? Coco number 2 seed !! Yet 40% winning percentage against top ten ! How come every draw she doesn't play top 20 player before semi final. Fix !!! While Iga plays top players in first round. So 90% of Coco points against very, very weak player's!!

Yes it is a fix and multiple calls for favorites as today for Coco ! That girl broke her early as ball went at least 6 inches beyond base line on break point then to reinforce same game Coco double faulted but they did not call ! Small chance I'm wrong ! Ruination of sports same Medvedev on set point his volley approaching net was long shoulda been loud "out set to Mr.Muller"! Could be wrong but small chance Ruin great efforts by superb athletes by jimmying the calls!

I can tell you this, because he is a Russian he gets very negative comments, which is also harmful. How would you like to play in a tournament and you are not allowed to show your countries flag. You do not know what is going on in Rublevs body. Do you? Imagine USA(who started more than 100 wars since the second world war, and nothing happens) players not using their countries flag. Believe you me there will be an uproar, because USA does nothing wrong?
