Aside from shafted TT/GHB units; I happen to also run of some rather not-ideal/underrated heroes. Aside from Canas, I have built Clive, Finn, Mathilda and Sully for blue units. Stahl and Raigh are next build project for Reds. Green units-wise, I have a decent Legendary Lyn and Picnic Leo who often ends up as the Blue Mage bait; the latter also excelling in laughing at Bow units.
So yeah, seeing this post raised made me more confident in building the underdogs of the meta.

Canas deserves that Luna tome with a built in quick riposte 6 and close counter for how cultured he is.
Or he aims for the lower of Def and Res. And Close counter and Quick Riposte 10 and -1 cool down like a killer weapon and...
None of that matters anyway because, having Canas on your team with his refine means you win by default.

When I started Heroes I had recently finished FE7, and Canas was my favorite character: he carried my playthrough and he was so wholesome.
Easily one of my favorite FE7 chars, so when I had learned he was in Heroes I was very tempted to summon him. I asked a friend and he told me he sucked and why.
I was seriously sad for quite a while.

I have a Double Brazen Finn at +1 with Harmonic Lance+; he's overkill once he drops below 80% HP.
Oh yeah, Canas is a thing that exists in this mobile game. I heard he likes to spend his days with Tobin, Clive and Female Robin and have a good sip of wine to dull the pain of being forgotten.

It's even more insulting because all the free mages since then have gotten prf weapons. Why didn't they just give him the luna tome? Negates resistance but reduces attack by 10 or has 0 mt or something as a drawback. That would NOT be OP, just good.

Well, his new weapon and refine came out and its animation is Luna. But basically, new weapon has 20% res for additional damage and gives Canas a lot of atk and res
Good news, Canas will have a refine.

While I admit Canas is meh at first... until I realized his statline is just right for some whacked shenanigans I have in mind. Oh and he's currently +7 merges/+6 dragonflowers. That compensation reward later is going to secure the eighth merge.
I got a lot of good luck with Canas' growths. He tends to make a good team with Lewyn.

This build can one shot a +10 +res fallen Edelgard with +6 res buff and +4 res spur, just need to wait for his tome to get the special ready, and there are likely other options
I’d say A/R Finish is the better A slot because of the true damage if you’re running SS4 and TP4, he’s going to be one shotting nearly everything with DR-piercing Icebergs so the extra damage will be preferred over the 30% DR.
I feel like this applies to all units that got butchered

Canas- typically able to max out his Magic at level 20 + 20, decently speedy for a dark user, CULTURED, and an all around chill dude.
In Heroes he obviously deserves to be a Resistance-focused (lol) paperweight.
I just had to stoo the video and open up Heroes to see if he still hasn't gotten a refine
....but life is still good
I actually built Canas and he most certainly pulls his weight. His art is too good to not use.
