Although space is a vacuum, that does not mean there is no sound in it.
Yes, space is a vacuum - so it generally doesn't carry sound waves like air does here on Earth. However, some sounds do exist in outer space, we just can't hear them. Various probes that zoom through the space are capable of capturing radio emissions from astronomical objects. NASA's scientist have designed special instrument known as 'astronomical interferometer' which can record these electromagnetic vibrations, and transfer them into sounds within range of human hearing (20-20,000 Hz).
Interesting Facts about our Moon:
The Moon's Latin name is Luna.
The Moon formed approx. 4.5 billion years ago.
Moon is the fifth-largest natural satellite in the Solar System.
The moon orbits the Earth at an average speed of 3,700 kilometers an hour.

The Soviet Union’s Luna program featured the first successful landing of an unmanned spacecraft on the surface of the Moon in 1966.
The USA’s NASA Apollo 11 mission in 1969 was the first manned Moon landing.
The first person to set foot on the Moon was Neil Armstrong.
A lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth is between the Sun and the Moon.
The Moons is actually more of an oval shape.

Apollo 17 astronaut Harrison Schmitt was allergic to the Moon.

It's amazing to think what a stark difference one's perceived reality would be from planet to planet (and moon). On the moon, so empty, only shades of grey with a black sky.. although, so hauntingly beautiful.. feeling like you've gone back in time (because not much has changed). On Earth... absolutely bursting with beautiful colour, diversity, and life.. SO much life actually, down to the cells that make up all our living things. Sigh. Maybe in our lifetime there will be a moon-walk VR experience. Mars too.. oh how I would love that. A VR experience of Earth would be most astounding.. but we get to live here. We do it every day. I'm feeling grateful today.

Dear Earthlings - When I was a little baby kitten, the moon was the very first thing I noticed in the sky. I have never forgotten the very first moment my feet were planted on the earth and I looked up in the sky and saw the moon. Being home on earth, means having the moon for our friend. It’s close enough to keep us company. Yet, it’s very far but still stays very close to us. The moon's job is to be one giant reflector of the sun's light, to give us earthlings some light at night. Without the moon, we would find ourselves in deep darkness at nights.

moon's role is far more important than what you mentioned. Moon's gravitational pull prevents earth from floating into the space and wandering off in it until it gets pulled by the gravitational pull of a bigger planet that would crush every trace of life. Besides,if there was no moonlight, the stars would act as a source of light at nights

Without the moon there would be no waves and tides in the ocean,and we would not have seasons…because the moon keeps the earth’s tilt just at the right angle all the time.
