I’m a diehard rockets fan since the early 2000s and I can speak for all htown fans when I say EG is a legend in Houston 🤘🏾 hoping he gets a ring in phoenix
I will forever love EG as a Rockets fan, dude is the definition of a polite assassin, he was our second leading scorer behind James during those years.. the Backcourt of James, CP3, and Eric Gordon will always be my favorite of all time… PJ Tucker also holds a special place in my heart man I’m bout to cry🥲
The lobs to capela and Gerald green coming off the bench and letting it fly every time he touched the ball. These last few years sucked but at least we’re going the right way now
@@MolloyDadda247Luke we even had Lou Williams, Pat Bev and Montrezl Harrell for a stent before the CP3 trade.. Having Both Eric Gordon and Lou Will was a bit redundant.. but definitely had some gunners along Hatden
I’ll go to my grave saying that game was rigged. Yes, they missed 27 straight 3’s but the fouls in that game were unreal. Not to mention Scott foster reffed that game and he also hates harden
@kendalcooper4185 bro that game was rigged the moment, that tough 4 point play of harden on klay was denied! I saw that and knew houston was going to lose, the team and the fans lost ALL momentum. I'll NEVER forget that play on klay.
th-cam.com/video/aYveyAb6mvU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=SBiNLkUCezXgwuED Proof it was rigged! Refs can control games to a degree and this was a clear example of intentional momentum shifting
2018 Conference finals was the REAL Finals… Chris Paul, James Harden, Trevor Ariza, Pj Tucker, Clint Capela, Eric Gordon, Luc Mbah Moute.. those guys deserve a ring together
People forget how good Eric Gordon was before his injuries, he was like a more explosive Bradley Beal at one point. Him & DRose in high school😮💨 cook sessions
Damn yall too young to have played nba live 07-09, eric gordon was a beast during that time on the Hornets he was honestly Broy level (in the video games not irl)
That rockets and warriors series both years back to back were some of the best playoff basketball I’ve ever watched and im a suns fan and grew up a suns fan but damn that started feeling like a real rivalry with the rockets and warriors meeting in the conference finals it felt like every year
Eric Gordon is one of those true professionals that would thrive on any nba team because of skills and because he plays hard on both sides of the ball. Can do a little bit of everything so he's never a liability. He can fill up the box score on any given night and can score 20+ when he's on easily. Probably one of the most successful role players in nba history.
Phoenix fan here and ever since EG signed that offer sheet back in the day I’ve been so upset he isn’t on the team. I’ve just had to watch him knocking down that long 3 for years knowing we almost had that. Then finally this year I get what I wanted!
Been Rockets fan since Yaoming days and always love EG for his contributions during that couple year run. We were so closed to the championship and just missed the opportunities again and again due to injury, referee and probably luck... Wish James and EG could win when everything settle down and wish James and EG could unite maybe in Clippers or maybe couple seasons later.
Love gordon as a young Houston born and bred guy seeing him in the arena from the nosebleeds as a kid was amazing. Love that hes playing with my fave center is the league rn and is currently the vet for that team
At the start of when I took my NBA fandom more seriously, Eric Gordon was the first talented young player my team (the then New Orleans Hornets) got. He never wanted to go to New Orleans but he did alright during his tenure there.
46:47 guarding the ball in space is more difficult than ever, but a big part of that is the combination of the freedom of movement for the ball handler. I agree off-ball is physical, but the 1v1 in space isn’t allowed to be physical until the shot. I think that’s where people complain because there’s just nothing you can do to these guys that crazy talented in that space
it hurts more when you know the refs were so one-sided. Harden was fouled shooting 3s all game. 1 was supposed to be a 4 pt play that was taken away too. The moving screen, and EG getting sandwiched on a transition layup.
These 27 straight missed 3s - most of them were really well defended. When they occasionally were open, they were kind surprised, then rushed the shot. Basically really good d by GS threw Houston out of rythym. (And I was pulling for Houston)
JJ, I would be forever grateful if you will watch the IU/Kansas game tomorrow (Saturday) at 12:30pm. I'm an IU fan, and I think prime JJ would average 3.6 3pfga/game in this offense. They are last in the country in 3pfga over the last two years and their coach (Mike Woodson with NBA coaching pedigree) gets mad when the media asks him about it. He says "we shoot enough of them, we just need to make more of them". They take fewer than EVERY team in the damn country and coach expects everyone to think he's got it all figured out. Please make it make sense (or address the insanity of it) on your podcast.
I'm looking forward to the crazy stat at the end of the season that tells us how Book, KD and Beal shared a ridiculously low number of minutes on the court together for the whole season
Guess we are just gonna ignore that that game 7 was the most rigged game in the history of officiating as well. If you respond with 27 missed 3's go educate yourself on youtube, you can find compilations of missed calls.
I’m a little worried about my Suns. They are loaded with talent but they have no identity. Offense has been anemic, just a ton of Book & KD iso and way too many turnovers. Even with all the injuries they should not be 13-11 and 10th in the West with this team… Not acceptable
Remember they are a completely new team. The chemistry isn't there each quarter, but it has shown bright spots. I'm still optimistic for them. Its just going to take time.
JJ is a horrible interviewer. the most soft ball questions ive ever seen. you can tell eric gordon is not a bought and paid for agent. JJ tried to get him to say the nba is still physical and eric didnt take the bait. You cant be physical at all with perimeter ball handlers. You cant breathe on a ball handler. Im glad eric didnt lie and continue to perpetuate that bs narrative that jj is trying to push. Being from indiana myself and graduating a year before eric, playing against him in high school and watching his career....hes def one of the goats. eric and glen robinson are the best 2 from indiana in my life time.
Respect to EG for still being in the league. Dude can still ball
I was pessimistic when he joined the Suns assuming he was washed, but he's a lot of fun to watch
Go watch his FIBA highlights from last summer. Lots of talent all left in the tank. @@GasGrassOrAssetto

Quietly the best part player to come out of Indiana. People don’t know how good EJ was in high school, guy is a legend.

JJ thinking he came up with the term "sicko" is so on brand 😂😂
JJ mentioned him early I feel like a Grayson Allen episode would be crazy 2 guys almost on the same career path
EG has always been one of my favorite players. So underrated but so consistent at his craft.

Absolutely love eg and as a rockets fan he saved them soooo much with big time moments and not even just scoring he's a underrated defender
Love EG on our Suns. He brings so much to the team! Great chat JJ, loved it
He’s being modest dude was taking one step past half court in high school and launching it 😂😂😂
Been a long time special talent and amazing rile player.
Can't wait to hear his story. Deserve more respect then he gets
I remember watching Eric Gordon at the Peach Jam with Drose he had this shot that didn’t look like it would miss and he was dumb athletic too.

@JJRedick I really your bravery for coming on the show so buzzed. You are a pro. I feel like I had to catch up. You were still hilarious and right.
I’m glad guys like him have overcome injuries. Awesome interview as always JJ
Waiting on this one, love EG, definitely underrated
EG is the man!
Great interview
Had a great game against Houston last night waiting on the knicks thunder breakdown in particular jdub going left making them shots.
Love EJ. He’s 1/2 reason I’m a Clipper fan.
This maybe the first time hearing Eric Gordon speak, but his voice sounds nothing like what I thought he would sound 😅
When your main player goes down, you better pray you have an Eric Gordon on the bench. Rockets legend ❤ Pi Mamba

I remember seeing him torch Jordan son in high school. NORTH CENTRAL LEGEND
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 great one
Always loved eric gorden, guy was cluch in that harden/cp3 era
Great interview 👍
Made my day to hear Legs be on soon.
It took the worst 3 point shooting half in nba history to stop harden from getting to the finals but once you have a narrative they gon run wit it
Eric Gordon could pull up from the logo with ease. I remember he won six man of the year and the 3pt contest. 🚀🌌🤘🏾
the JJ voice crack at 2:56 has me dying
JJ, it would be awesome if you got Payton Pritchard on!
Who? 😂
Out of everybody you can ask for you pick Payton Pritchard?
It hurt to watch the 27 missed threes clip as a Houston fan
it hurts more when you know the refs were so one-sided. Harden was fouled shooting 3s all game. 1 was supposed to be a 4 pt play that was taken away too. The moving screen, and EG getting sandwiched on a transition layup.
