So, do you know how the Spanish call Filipinos indios? And have you been in Spain? How they still look down at Filipinos up to now?

    I remember when I was in Grade 7, my Teacher told us that his friend went abroad (I can’t remember what country it was) and then his friend went to a store with a lot of dolls , each doll wore a national costume representing every country in the world, they were all beautiful and exciting to see, my teacher's friend was excited about what the Filipino would look like but he couldn't find it, and then he asked the seller about it, but when the seller showed the doll to the one who represents our country---the Philippines, she was wearing a maid dress, and it really broke her heart.
    See how other people in other country sees us.
    So we must work hard for the good of our Country.😞❤️
    Anyway, I was Grade 7 that time right, and now I'm already in Grade 12 and still can't forget that story. It also became my inspiration to study harder, I know I am just one of millions of Filipinos, but if we are united, we can make our country better.

      Would that even change a thing? It's not like they were the ones responsible for their ancestor's garbage past. I'm not defending them at all but with this kind of mindset, prejudice will always prevail. You can't just generalize people just like how you wouldn't want them to generalize us Filipinos.
      We're at a time where humans are learning from their pasts and not everything's harsher than it was before. We're being united despite all of our diversities. Don't let this kind of thinking influence our youth if you want racism to end (which I doubt wilk ever end so long as comments like this exist). The key is to view each other as equals, that we are a part of one race. The human race.

    • @karlos_infamous
      @karlos_infamous 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @madsciontist _I also respect Asian/Filipino immigrants' decision to migrate. But i don't understand why they are willing to endure racism, discrimination and other negative stuff just to become US citizens. Fom my perspective, I found stories/videos online from Asian/Filipino American individuals that they always bullied at school for their appearance, insulted as ching-chong-chang, they are alawys seen as foreigners, they don't feel belongingness and acceptance from the majority American community, they don't see positive represenration in the media about them, they became ashamed of their ancestry and don't know much about their communities' history.

    • @karlos_infamous
      @karlos_infamous 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @madsciontist _ well it depends on the person. for me, even though I live in a 3rd world country, i never experienced poverty. I have a wonderful and happy life that I am living and best of all, I don't have to adjust/assimilate to the majority population because I am part of the majority. i feel belonginess with the people around me. i feel at home with my own people. i lived abroad for a few years but there's absolutely no place like home. ✌️

    • @karlos_infamous
      @karlos_infamous 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @madsciontist _ it depends on your perspective and family history. all of grandparents were also poor but they worked hard so that my parents will have a decent life. but we chose not to migrate because we feel more at home with fellow Filipinos here in the Philippines. If a person chose to become an immigrant or move to another country, I just think they should have the guts to face the challenges ahead like assimilation, prejudice and possible hostility (the recent Asian hate during the pandemic). Psrsonally, I don't want to experience those challenges because me and my family am already in a good and happy spot here in the Philippines, even though we live in a 3rd world country.

    Interact with filipinos on any MOBA game and you wouldn't be surprised people kept them in zoos. Then again these natives were probably more pleasant and empathetic than modern pinays/pinoys. (And I say this as a filipino before you start a flame war). Also lol at comparing a vlog to watching people forcefully detained in a zoo, made me laugh my backside off and spit out my fanta with that goofy comparison.
