Speaking as a Guyanese grenada had the faster time in the heats than all of the other islands and they didnt put out all there effort like they would have in the finals and the officials that had to signal the error clearly wasnt doing there job and its unfair to the other islands that stop when they heard the second gunshot which signaled the fall start

Exactly Grenada would've gotten gold Jamaica got around a 50m lead due to the incident at the start and Grenada still got bronze. If the race was done fairly Grenada would've taken gold they got the fastest time entering the event also.
I heard it also . This was very unprofessional and clearly it was not decided what was to be done as the officials weren't even prepared for the 2nd leg. Took too long. No one was watching the race???

Hence why Bahamas & Trinidad dropped out of the race, it should have been recalled, all the other teams had to play catch up to the three times on the outter lanes. It was just a mess, the two teams who dropped out was allowed to run after and given positions according to time. SAD end to a great weekend but i do hope, this won't happen again.

However I did notice that the runner in the second leg received the batton and started to run at the same time that the Jamaican runner was taking off . I hope the coach will MAGNIFY THIS obvious DELAY during the handing over ‼️🌎 I must say that Guyana has really upgraded it potential. We are proud of these athletes ‼️ The natural talent for speed is All over Guyana in abundance. But the Government never really gave sufficient support. Rather They focused more on cricket. Today With oil money and global 🌎 Social Media influence, there's more incentive and pressure for Guyanas 🇬🇾 government to Invest 💯% more . We will be monitoring the sports budget for Guyanese Athletic Training and the quality of training, as well as cultivating the a culture that encourages track and field. We will be following ‼️

@JJN631 It doesn't matter. Jamaica didn't have their A team. They used a 800m, 1500m runner, and their Ocathlete. So definitely not their best team at the Carifta. They were chosen to qualify for the finals.

Bahamas was pulling another trick and unfortunately the other teams who had a shot of silver and bonze medal followed them. Lesson learnt dont watch the Bahamian team as they have lots of tricks up their sleever never without drama and re-run, disqualification etc. that is them in a nutshell, Other Caribbean countries you need not get into Bahamas drama as it dont look good! as they are well kown for it.. The Grenadian on the first leg stopped with the others at the beginning, restarted, slowed down and then went again when he saw the others weren't stopping. With all that, Grenada finished 4 secs behind Jamaica at the end of the relay...
