    (coming here from the coursera course too) I know we're supposed to feel like this is an example of ineffective communication because of the formal language, but I think there really is a target market for this kind of presentation format and these types of in-depth can honestly be really helpful. It's not 'an attempt to be professional' the man was literally able to discuss the origin of the pecha kucha, explain how to plan for and make one step by step, and provide us with tips and recommendations all in SEVEN MINUTES! He taught us about pecha kucha through a pecha kucha. This is literally so well done I don't understand what the coursera bro is yapping on about. The only people this format would not work for are people in a rush and people that want to know everything in a 30 second reel lmao
    All the positive comments only prove how helpful this video was. Thank you, Mr. Marcus!

      Agreed. I teach non-native speakers of English about things like presenting etc. One of the aims is to get them to cut their language and content down. An advantage of the form is that those with good English can put more info in, those with weaker English can stick to simple sentences. That said, one guy was supposed to do a Pecha Kucha and ended up doing 20 minutes!!! (Yes, I should have stopped him) "But it's all soo interesting!" he lamented.

    Well done. I'm going to have a crack at this with my English language students here in Saudi. They are fairly capable speakers, but their reading and writing skills are not that impressive. These sorts of presentations will highlight their speaking ability as well as "force" them to pay more attention to reading (research) and writing (tightening up their scripts). As for the Arab audience, I'm confident that they will appreciate the accompanying illustrations to the oral presentation instead of being assaulted by a wall of text.

    I have to make a pecha kucha video for a school assignment. The thing is, I have never ever made a video before. Could someone maybe tell me how you can record a voice over the PowerPoint slides? Like the gentleman in this video did? I know he said something about TH-cam but that was only a brief part.

    How do I make my slides go automatically in Google Slides?

    • @MarcusWeaverHightowerPhD
      @MarcusWeaverHightowerPhD  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately, Google slides won't do a pecha kucha automatically. It will do automatic slide transitions, but only at 15 or 30 seconds, either too short or too long. So, you can do something like a pecha kucha, but not exactly 20 seconds.

Call out to Jesus and repent from all rebellion against the Lord and He is altogether merciful towards all who humbly call unto Him with humbleness. It's awesome to belong to the Lord Jesus Christ. Come to THE WATERS and drink deeply of His love - JESUS!
