    Nice paint work. A beautiful cloud giant pin-up, her poster must be at each armor repair shop of the giants;).

    Really love that skin tone. As for the pose, to me it's almost like she is looking down to talk to a normal size human. Kind of odd on its own, but might make more sense in a diorama. Great job with this figure & loving this series.

      thats exactly what it is :D if you look at the cover for Volos the giant had to put his face right up to him to see a halfling.

    Excellent work, her club looks to be made from a pillar from some temple, fitting.

    She turned out beautiful! I was just thinking of getting her from miniature market, definitely going to order her now! Personally I would have gone with some slightly different colors but as I said before she looks amazing and you should feel proud!

    This one was perfect, this color recipe in my opinion is better for frost giant but the one you used on the frost giant i think would have fit a cloud giant but love both still

    Completely understand why you thought it was a Werner Klocke but it's a Patrick Keith sculpt if anyone is searching for it.
    Thanks as always for the great videos Doc!

    i think you should have left her roots black or did a gradiant into white since her hair is supposed to be like a cloud. could have had a more chromatic scale to it would have been interesting to see i thought you were going to leave the roots black and go over it with grey and then gradually into a white with a pale gold at the ends ?

    I am following along your giants series a bit, just putting the finishing touches on my Stone Giant, and I picked up this one to do next. Having had 6 months to think about it, is there anything you'd do differently? Would it make more sense to make the breastplate a grey or bright steel sort of color, or do you think that'd make the model too monochromatic?

    Hello! im just getting into miniature painting and i was wondering if you had any suggestions for painting the premium plastic figure from Hero Forge, my character is a bronze dragon born and i was wondering if you knew how to get a scale texture, as the character wears a scale cape.

    hey doctor, i noticed in your older airbrush videos you used pledge with future shine. is out of production though, so i was wondering if Pledge Floor Care Multi-Surface Finish worked the same. anything you'd recommend in lieu of it?

    Another fantastic painting video. Love your content man help inspire me to do other projects. Was this model ever produced in pewter? As a painter I am not a big fan of bones compared to pewter. To me the extra bucks are worth it for a model with crisper details.

    I've painted this miniature twice and I still don't know what colors would make it pop. I don't think I've seen a paint job on it that does the sculpt justice.
    (And this is a Patrick Keith scuplt, not a Werner Klocke although it's obvious why you might guess Klocke as no one does pretty-fantasy-women sculpts as well as Klocke.)

    I dont understand what you mean when you say "dry brush marks" the point in drybrushing you should never see any marks, or brush strokes... so are you not removing enough paint? would wet blending not be better? sorry im new to this, but i dont have a problem with dry brush

    • @ThePaintingClinic
      @ThePaintingClinic  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not everyone knows how to drybrush well. Results that are streaky or chalky can be fixed with layering is the point I was making.

    • @TheRunesmythe
      @TheRunesmythe 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Actually, visible brush strokes and chalking are far more common with drybrushing than not; its one of the reasons a lot of painters frown on using it. Its a bi-product of the technique in general, because you're getting rid of most of the moisture in the paint, leaving you with mostly pigment and a very little liquid and you tend to see it more on large, flat areas. If you're not getting any streaks or brush strokes, kudos to you for figuring out how to eliminate them; in the end, peoples' results will vary and knowing about ways to counter pitfalls like these might save people some frustration and grief.

  • @prvtsnafu

    it looks like you don't use a wet palette like a lot of miniature painters and use a piece of tile instead . is there a reason for this?

    • @ThePaintingClinic
      @ThePaintingClinic  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Gives me full control of the paint. Sometimes I want the paint to dry a bit and become thicker.

      I don't know if he bought it locally, but you can find the miniature at www.reapermini.com/Miniatures/Bones/latest/77162 ; that link should take you right to it on the manufacturer's website.

    How much do you thin your paints? And if so, what thinner do you use?

    • @ThePaintingClinic
      @ThePaintingClinic  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on several factors, so I have no set ratio. Start at 1:3 paint to water and adjust as needed.

  • @horrido666

    The standard I set for myself is - no drybrush marks EVER. They are a complete fail. Even with speed painting. If you don't have time to do it right, don't do it. Of course I have varying levels of success.
