I Think of all the music I've heard over that time,yet my favorite piece of music is not vocal, or solo *anything,* it is this instrumental work, by the inimitable American composer Samuel Barber. When listening, even in public, it makes me openly, unashamedly cry and weep like a little child. This particular realization by the great and famous Gustave Dudamel, conducting the Vienna Philharmonic, is such a sweet, lyrical gift to all of us!

Saying “God Bless Mother United Kingdom” doesn’t have the same ring to it as “God Bless Mother England”. This flag 🇬🇧 is the more recognizable flag representing England throughout the world, not this flag 🏴. You’ve missed the sentiment I was feeling towards England due to nitpicking.

This is a profoundly moving and meaningful performance. These fine musicians and conductor have literally thrown their guts on the stage with the heart, soul, and sublime emotion in their flawless performance. Every minutiae and nuance of meaning, emotion, and deep soul is explored in their performance. Barber wrote this upon the death of his beloved wife, and to describe it as a "scream from the soul" would be a gargantuan understatement. All emotions arise at once and swirl endlessly, showing the depth of meaning he wishes to convey. Passionate...soulful...profound...just pick a superlative and apply it. Bravo and thank you for all you did in this performance.
I think it is extemely crude of TH-cam to broadcast a commercial message right in the middle of this performance. That it disturbs the most emotional moments of this beautiful composition is probably no coincidence either. Shame.
