    How to make your kids know you better:
    Maurice: Write a Journal.
    Ted: Spend 10 years telling kids the story of how he met their mom.

    When you have children all the morning calming routines (or any calming routines for that matter) are all gone for good 10-15 years.

      Noooo, you just have to adjust plans a little.

    Love how you reframed the topic by focusing on outcomes, rather than actions. Made it specific enough to be useful, but general enough to be applicable to a wide range of lifestyles and needs. Cheers from a fellow canuck (west coast tho).

    Man, I love your stuff. Your style of breaking down your points is great and this one is one of my favorites of yours.

    A 5 year journal is a great idea. I started my A6 Hobonichi 5 Year January this year and I haven’t missed a day. I do mine in the evening though and have my TWSBI Diamond Mini dedicated to it.

      Me: shut up, I'm grinding my coffee.

    Self-love/care is not selfish. Taking care of yourself first then you can take better care of others.

    omg finally something that gets to the principles of morning routines, instead of saying something like "yeah just take a cold shower and microdose some yerba mate"

    Firstly, thanks for this very nice video I'm a big fan.
    Secondly, for me, I feel like if I woke up early, brewed some turkish/arabic coffee, journaled and brainstormed with my most prized possession (my car) near me that I would achieve these 3 outcomes easily.

    Love your videos. Maybe share how to journal, there is so much stuff out there and non makes to much sense to me.
    Thanks for sharing.

    Just to counter one of the comments - I do find these kinds of videos helpful. I don't think they have a 'know-it-all' style. In any case, people who don't like these types of videos can simply skip watching them. I, and undoubtedly many others, appreciate them.

    I've always been a morning person, even on my days off including vacation I always wake up around the same time if not earlier than my work clock alarm. IF I wake up around 8am (on vacation/day off), I've slept in.

    I thought about that 5 year diary a few times, but I never convinced myself to get it as I don't even use my normal diary daily. xD

    All these parents saying kids ruin calm in the morning. Just do what I do, wake up at 4:30am

    EDC Maurice > Self Help Guru Maurice
    & I’m the first comment so far so you know I ain’t a hater. I’m just explaining that your know-it-all style feels incredibly helpful when it comes to EDC reviews & annoyingly grating when it comes to life advice.
    I’m sure some people glean something from the life advice stuff but it just feels hollow, lacking of depth. While the edc stuff might be the best on the web. Just my two cents and not said with any hate. I have my notifications on, for goodness sakes!
    Edit for clarity: Not counting note taking tips as life advice. I view those as part of the every day carry informational / how-to stuff that you’re great at.

      I don't think anyone should expect peerless content or just refer to one guy for life advice. It's just life tips, not a thesis on fixing life.

      Agreed - all this self-help BS is ridiculous… stick to EDC or I will have to unsubscribe, this isn’t what I signed up for.

    • @Eyephere
      @Eyephere วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      @@Ali-ew9gv I’m glad I’m not alone! Now, I personally wouldn’t unsubscribe yet. I like the channel a lot and can look passed things I don’t love, but I do want him to be more self-aware of how helpful the know-it-all style can be in EDC videos versus how terribly annoying it can be when executed in more general wellness and life advice videos from him. It was meant as constructive criticism with constructive being a key part of that.

      @blktauna วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Apparently you watched a different video than I did, I missed the know it all part. I find his takes on all sorts of things interesting and if you aren't interested in anything but EDC then why did you watch in the first place?.
