I found your posts from 2014 that led me to this video. I just purchased this awesome little machine and man I wish guys with your ingenuity were on TH-cam more. I learned alot from the posts and this is a highly underrated machine.
Mines still working perfectly after 8 months of hard rock crawling. The plastic everything in the chassis holds up very well. Yes all my axles are slightly bent but it still will crawl a wall. I just can't wear it out.
thanks for the subscribe tonnes more info on rccrawler forum links are in my comments if you care to follow, were hoping it get some after market support for this awesome little rig.
Thanks for the input! excuse the ignorance! the danchee brings 2 390 engines? what are the advantages of this crawler? Can you fit a better quality esc to the stock one? likewise a better servo?
Kevin, good evening. I'm looking into getting tires like your for my danchee. I was wondering though, what's the wheel hex hub thickness on your danchee?
stock Have you looked on the forum any lots of good info there, my wheels are stock but custom cut and shut meaning I cut them apart took out some from the back side then glued them together.
@@kevinbolden8780 no i havent looked at the forum. Where do I find that? Thnx for replying. Just placed my order on the tires. This whole rock crawling thing is addictive! Lol
steering and lower links I made with traxxas 5347 rod ends, from the local hobby shop and some 8/32 all tread 3 feet at lowes, and some 1/4 brake line 3 strait feet at O Reilly auto parts, and built up some custom super strong links for cheap. the short throw arm connected to the servo were stock steering turnbuckles from a redcat volcano, www.ebay.com/itm/Redcat-Racing-Volcano-EPX-Pro-1-10-Tie-Toe-Suspension-Links-Turnbuckles/224153701038?hash=item34309a0aae:g:DCgAAOSwZlhe42jH hope that helps
Sweet rig man!👍👍 love the upgrades you did. I just machined up some T6 aluminum steering links for my daughter's Ridgerock too and replaced the servos cause one craped out on her. And made frame extentions too. Thinking of doing the lower links like you've done also lowering the springs with internal springs. Keep up the awesome work and vids!🤘 subscribed!
@@kevinbolden8780 yes when it maxes out the axle what I just did to my danchee is drilled and tapped it higher on the servo horn so it's back to a shorter throw and doesn't bind
This is such a classic vid. 2min in... Ridgey climbin' walls like Spiderman! o0 Very impressive what all those mods have done. And still not too expensive, just some ingenuity.
@@kevinbolden8780 thanks! I used allthread to replace the steering linkage on mine but haven't covered it with anything yet The brake line keeps the allthread from catching on obstacles I imagine. Great idea!
Kevin, good day. Your danchee is awesome brother. I have one and would like to have that mod done on my wheel. Do you think you could give an instructional video on how to install that air valve? Much respect. I subcribed, cheers!
I could but honestly with shipping and all it wouldnt be very budget freindly, the traxxas 5347 rod ends are about 11 bucks for 10 , 8/32 all tread 3 feet at lowes is about 4 bucks, and 1/4 brake line 32 inches strait at O Reilly auto parts is 16 bucks, there's the prices and where to get all of it if you still want me to build you some let me know how much there worth to you and id have to see how much shipping is.
@@kevinbolden8780 how are you connecting the brake line or all thread to the stock connection points on the car? Are you somehow manufacturing the joints, or just cutting off the ends of the stock pieces and attaching it to the brake line/all-thread?

glad to hear it man, ill try and add some new videos soon you can also check out rccrawler forum.
What battery upgrade do you prefer as you mentioned a 3s. Isn't it rated for a 7.4v?
@@tcvideos165 I run mine on a shorty pack 3s 2200mah. It works great just remember it has plastic gears so be conservative with the throttle.
Thank you for your response. I did upgrade the servos to the same listed on the forum.
yes it is probably one of the best RC's for the money that I've ever bought.

Just found this how did you change the Esc to 3s or just change connector
I am new to crawling and just got a ridge rock. Can you tell me what the pin spring mod is?
Awesome video, thanks!
it limits the shock movement so that its less likely to flip and what not.

you problay could swap out the esc but then you would loose the 4ws steering and presets, the servos are an easy swap, amazon has them cheap.

@@kevinbolden8780 Yup I have a couple video's on it on here of what i hve done to it.
Since you put on that servo have you noticed it turns to sharp and bind the joints?
my wheels are narrowed so they dont bind or are you talking about when the steering maxes out on the axle?

Do those tires work with the stock rims? That thing is sic!!!!!
yes the hyrax 2.2 due fit, any 2.2 tire should work fyi

How did you make those 4-links? Did you cut the ends off of the stock pieces and somehow attach them to metal tubing, or something different entirely?
I used all thread inside of the break line and tapped the revo ends
