There are 44 landlocked countries in the world and they all pay services for.using neighbouring countries, ethiopia has to pay for using these ports and get over it.

    • @Xenomorph-hb4zf
      @Xenomorph-hb4zf ปีที่แล้ว +3

All those other 43 landlocked countries do have smaller populations so being landlocked is cheaper for them than for a country with a bigger population. Ethiopia is projected by UN population count to be around 300 Million by 2070. So if this is true then being landlocked forever is a very bad idea. Ethiopia would have near the size of USA population in 2020 and still be landlocked.

Abiye has 45,000 troops deep in Somalia under the banner of Atmis. He will not require international approval, since he is already sanctioned to be there as a protector.
Berbera is a non-option since Dubiaport has a 30year management lease.
Zaylac is a non starter since it would take 20-30 years to develop and no investor will want to compete with Dubiaport or the Djibouti port.
Muuqdisho port is managed by a Turkish company which is an option. It would only require mobilisation of 45,000 Ethiopian troops already in Somalia.
Attacking Eriteria maybe the most probable option. It is a rogue state and a financier or terror , with a disused port of Assab. The Afar have been armed and would be used as an instigator, Ethiopia would simply supply a proxy.
Ethiopia's disunity makes any external engagement an impossibility. Ethiopia is unlikely to wage war on any other neighbor than Eriteria simply because Eriteria will always interfere. It makes sense thus to only engage eriteria first.

I've always regarded Abby as intelligent, so his audacious claim surprised me. It's not possible for one country to simply overpower another by force! Take Djibouti, for example, it has a functioning government. Similarly, Eritrea is ready to defend its sovereignty at all costs. Although Somalia may be facing challenges in terms of governance and statehood, it doesn't mean that the Somali people are incapable of defending their homeland. Should such a situation arise again, Abby should avoid using such immature language. ይህ እብደታ ነበር!

In the first place Ethiopian circles
may be floating the idea of the
grabing a sea outlet by force if
    other means fail. Perhaps
Ethiopia is fishing to gather the reaction of international community particularly the neighbouring countries. In short and in plain English there are many land-locked countries in

in peace and hamony with its
    neigbours.Therefore there is no
excuse or pretext for Ethiopia to resort to war of aggression. If
    Ethiopia attempts to grab by
force any land or territorial sea of its neigbours there will be very
seious consequences including rekindling the struggle for
    liberation and secession of

This is a concerning development, and it's not surprising that some people are skeptical about Abiy's motives for building up the Ethiopian navy. It's important to remember that any attempt to capture Assab would likely be met with strong opposition from external players, and could lead to a full-blown war. Abby is still going after his mom’s dream , seen him as king 👑, his dilutions and power obsession will jeopardize the region’s peace and living coherence. I don’t which country he meant seize their port by power but if he meant to Djibouti 🇩🇯 or somalia 🇸🇴 which may he think they both some how weakest in the region, he is so dumb because we are ready to die for inch of our beloved land .

As a Somali & a neighbor, I support Ethiopia having access to seaport, but grabbing land by force for a seaport is highly unsustainable and Abiy Ahmed knows that.
1- international shipping companies will never risk their ships or crew into a disputed & unsafe seaport.
2- Cost of Insurance for ships & cargo will be extremely high
3-Ethiopian Importers will pass such high cost to consumers and create inflation
4- or Importers will just use other neighboring ports and enter the goods illegally into Ethiopia.
Solution is simple, identify what his neighbors who have access to sea need and trade with them. eg, Ethiopian electricity, port profit sharing, Ethiopian grain, etc...Look into the mutual interest instead.
