Fatality's play especially against Snake was like fine art. Little biased here as a Falcon main but he made the character look top tier. Absolutely beautiful. The neutral, the conversions, the finishers. I wish he always played this well.
Griffin with confidence and momentum is one of the scariest players in Ultimate. If he's feeling himself and wants to go for some crazy play against you, he's going to try it. No fear.
Tons of moves trade with falcon dive like that, you can even kill lucina with it by trading with dolphin slash at times. Pretty niche interaction though

You should watch Dj Nintendo vs Unknown for some melee Bowser v Fox if you haven’t already. He only time I have seen Bowser look decent in that matchup with 2 players of similar skill.
honestly roy is a tougher mu than pikachu. roy is pretty much falcon with a sword. at least vs pika falcon can live a long time and make a comeback. but roy consistently kills falcons around 100%
He's close, for sure. Diddy Kong has gone from a mid-tier to a top-tier due to buffs; Bayonetta has gone from a bottom-ten character to a solid upper-mid tier; maybe Cloud too (ie it looks like they overcorrected for the busted characters in Sm4sh, and later took pity).
End of the day player skill and experience will always determine the match over tier lists and matchup data. Sure it will be harder, but its not impossible to win bad matchups or with low tiers. People often forget that We are human and these lists often reflect perfect play in a vacuum if played perfectly on every frame or just tournament results over a relatively small player sample and time frame.
I think there is a major difference between american players and japanese players because it seems like american players convince themselves and other people that certain characters cant win against other characters at a high level, but Japanese players win tournaments with character we consider bad, but they play anyway because they fit their playstyle/they just like the character.

It's not even. By default, Captain Falcon is a heavy weight and falls fast. Pikachu can combo him easily. Pikachu players can abuse projectiles and due to his size, they can easily avoid much of Captain Falcon attacks and stay defensive throughout a match. Captain Falcon players also have to avoid becoming predictable on approach, otherwise they'll get punished. Both characters are solid at edgeguarding but Pikachu can obviously recover much farther from a ledge so Captain Falcon cannot be as risky or else it could lead to a stock lost. While Pikachu mainly has the advantage, poor move choices, predictable recovery attempts and bad play in general can cost a Pikachu player a win against him. Pikachu's best advantage is its offstage abilities so if they don't try to capitalize on that, then this allows a Captain Falcon player to remain onstage and try to rack up damage.
I think his Pythra still needs a month or two in the oven. AFAIK at the moment he's going Pythra in locals and Falcon at majors. He'll probably start mixing in more Pythra at the point he's consistently winning locals with them.

I think it has alot to do with pika requiring a certain amount of matchup knowledge to know how to fight while being kinda rare. Unless they've specifically grinded the matchup chances are the pika has more matchup experience cause theres alot more falcons.

How many years has Fatality been grinding this matchup (vs Pikachu)? Maybe instead of grinding an awful matchup for years to finally get one win you can have a counter pick for those matchups and spend significantly less time trying to find a way to win. It doesn't seem like the most efficient path to victory for competitive players imo.
Competitive gamers are unhappy and unhealthy. Fatality is happy with his character and he's part of a niche being a character loyalist. Maybe he doesn't have the time to grind another character. He has a life you know.

Recently started learning Falcon after watching Fatality.
And this is pretty gratifying to see.
What I learned from this is there are no literally impossible matchups in Ultimate. An impossible matchup would be Melee Bowser vs Fox.
