Thanks for sharing, Frii. I was hoping to hear more about being retired/drawing pensions, as my husband and I will be relocating to Malaga area late 2024 and we will both be drawing our state pensions. If you have recommended tax advisors you can point to, would appreciate a recommendation.
@@MikeS29 Hi again! Sorry for the late reply. I recently started working with a tax consultancy "Fresh" (Spain/Portugal tax experts) and you are very welcome to reach out to them: www.fresh-legal.com/book_service?service=spain_services&affiliate=nina
Thank you @@FriiInfo ; we just bought a home in Torremolinos, not far from the El Pinillo station, and plan to move there in late 2024, becoming tax residents for 2025. We are definitly interested to learn more, Nina. Thanks for the link 🙂
Hey :) Probably depends on which taxes you're thinking of. You can have a look at these two summaries for comparison: Spain: taxsummaries.pwc.com/spain/individual/taxes-on-personal-income Portugal: taxsummaries.pwc.com/portugal/individual/taxes-on-personal-income (choose type of tax in the menu on the left)
Hi there, well if you're a tax resident in Spain you would probably have to register as "autonomo" (self-employed) and invoice the company so that you yourself can pay the social security. However, to my knowledge it is also in some cases possible to remain an employee at a foreign company if there is a tax agreement between Spain and the other country (for example with the UK - that arrangement is possible). Hope that helps.
💰 always.

Thank you @@FriiInfo - I appreciate it! We are in Malaga area now 🙂
