Hi, I've read that no region is exempt from the wealth tax anymore since now they are imposing a federal solidarity tax. This applies to madrid and the andulucia region.
Excellent video. Thank you. We are 66YO retired educators visiting Poland and Estonia after helping a new school open in Lviv. We are seriously thinking of selling our Portland condo and moving to Europe. Is renting a better option than owning a home for expats in Spain? We always wanted to own, but now it seems that putting the cash in CDs is wiser than purchasing a home. Plus the healthcare is better in Spain than in the US. Your thoughts? Dean & Cindy

Hi, we live in US, would like to move to Spain for retirement (probably to Alicante area) in a few years with my wife. We will have $50-60k/yr (Social Security+401K), will rent. From what I understand, it would be heavily taxed in Spain. Can you give any idea how much taxes would we owe in Spain, 24% or more? Does it make sense to live 6 months in Spain and 6 months in Portugal, would that cut the taxes significantly?
