A collision avoidance system provides drones the ability to avoid any obstruction and protect drones from getting hit by any wall. This project uses Arduino nano and HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensors. It basically manipulates FS-IA6 receiver signal to protect the drone from getting hit.
Warning
This project is completely made by me. Codes and schematics may have small problems but they will be corrected in the second version of the project.

Instead of by passing yaw and pitch from receiver, you can use the i2c port. Like that of in radio telemetry
Yes... I am working on next version of it
is still possible if using fuzzy logic method ?
Its unreliable
Can you please make obstacles advoince drone using vision and ir sensor
i will try
hello sir really liked the project and egerly waiting for the part
some suggetions...
1 remove gps to save weight and make more stable flight
2- try some high discharge batteries like upto 55c ...what i can see you r using 2200 mah that provide discharge of 25c..so motor gets less power and cannot work effectively
thank you..i hope you liked my suggestion
Yes... I tried them.out... my battery was not working properly... Due to over use... When i replaced the batteries it worked... But it still have issues
Waiting for the video😍 is code not working as expected?
Yes ... Code is not working as expected
Hello Can i have also your email.... I have the sema project
robocircuits@gmail.com
sir, can you also give me the obstacle avoiding drone library.
Mail me at robocircuits@gmail.com
@@RoboCircuits alright, sir.
instead of using a separate flight controller you should program the nano itself with PID loop
Yeah thats true
But it needs tons of calibration and proper coding skills
The code can be found online. However,, calibration is an issue tho. I generally do the calibration in a virtual simulation (Google's Brax) and it works out pretty well on the real drone as well!
But yeah, coding knowledge is required, so that's a disadvantage.
Great work by the way!
Virtual simulation seems interesting i will check it out.
I used multiwii once and it’s calibration was very hard
I have 5 peaces in a box of HC-SR04 sensors to mount one extra on the bottom side of my Octo Quadcoper and the other 4 just like your object , on my drone selfbild with pixhawk 2.4.8, so I go to buy an arduino and other parts and setup, I hope to see your second video.
Soon
I loved that video. Keep up the great work. Don't be disappointed by setbacks. Have you thought of using carbon fiber for your chassis and other components?
Yeah a little bit...
Problem is in system... It is giving garbage values
Hey brother can you please tell me how did you know the value of pwm signal coming to move the drone to left direction and right
Read code
We used interrupts for that
@@RoboCircuits I couldn't understand can you please elaborate
@@RoboCircuits I have read the code
Have you resolved the problem. Plz Share code with us i will be really thankful.
I have been working on other projects so i never got time... But i will start it again soon
You can remove excessive ultrasonic sensors and use a single ultrasonic sensor by attaching it to continuous rotation 360 degrees servo motor, it will provide all side view and would help in reducing weight😊
how can you rotate with wires attached?
Great project. What is the problem that makes it non-flyable?
Actually there is a lot of noise due to motors… and this was causing inappropriate sensing and i damaged the battery by mistake
While manipulating the pitch/yaw signals the ardupilot software doesn't throw any error? Because same thing I did on my Naza controller it throws error for me.
In ArduPilot it doesn't show error.
I haven't tested naza yet
code link you provided in description is not opening please provide alternative
Sure i will
You can make the drone to fly at certain height by adding one ultrasonic sensor at bottom and can we make it autopilot also ?
Yeah... We can do it with inbuilt pressure sensor and gps
I tried a lot to do this project i did not get please provide all details with code also .
Thank you
The video will be published today evening... Kindly wait
sir, can you give me the circuit diagram of the obstacle-avoiding drone.
Mail me at robocircuits@gmail.com
@@RoboCircuits sir, can you give me your Gmail please, so I can give my Gmail to you.
Sir can I get a detailed copy of this project I am also working on it
I have few details left bcoz i changed my pc
Can I use this with any autopilot example pixhawk
Yes i designed it according but it doesn’t work well
Bro can you make a separate video explaining the codes
Sure
thanks for sharing this . i need the codes and details of this project for my mini project for my high school
www.robocircuits.com/collision-avoidance-system/
this is not perfect if you need code just send mail sonuranjan717@gmail.com
i will provide circuit diagram and full connection and hardware setup. any one can ask for problem and codes....

I will check it
I updated the link now you can check it
Can you please help after putting all sensors and programming drone gets ARM only when it is connected to mission planner 🙏🙏
Did you fix the problem?
Yes... Next project coming soon
Obstacles sensor work infront of electrical wire of pole or not ?
ye sensor wala board kahan se mile ga
Can you give the code pls?
What are the components used in this system?
And tell me the availability and price of the system...?
4 hc sr04 and one arduino nano
Check robu.in
Please give the code I will appreciate that now I am working on the drone for final year in electronics
Hi
Kindly wait for tommarow... When this video will be published watch it and you will get everything in description
@@RoboCircuits I am waiting for the project Good luck for video
Thanks
Possibly add carbon fibre rods ( sensors mounted at extended end ) in a crucifix pattern exiting from the centre of the SUA below the props extending half the radius of the prop arms themselves. Obviously connected back to the PCB via cables.
i am working on part 2... i will consider your advise
it will keep them away from noise as well
You’re welcome, good luck with part two.
Is it possible only with pixhawk type flightcontroller?
Yes... But without gps you will miss some of features like pos hold etc...
You can integrate it with pixhawk also
hello how do you connect the apm with arduino?
i bypass the yaw and pitch wires from receiver to apm through arduino
Hi mate , i am really interested in this project . can you share including the file project please ? that will be appreciated . i promise to print with your logo
but how......
How do you connect arduipilot apm together with arduino........
There is a link in description... I have posted a full article on it.. check that
what is the specification of your motor and overall weight of the quadcopter?
950 kv ready to sky motors
Total weight arround 2 kg
It’s not the weight problem.
It was due to battery... Battery was damaged due to tight zip tie
Appreciate it man ! Could you tell the details and circuit codes ?
I had written an article about it on my website check out that

cam we do this with Naza v2 Flight controller
I didn't tried naza... It should work
hi,
excellent contribution to the world of drones, I am interested in replicating your project for my two small drones that I have, but are with dji drivers, your project can be adapted to these controllers?
jose
I never worked with dji controlllers
But for any reciever like mine it will work
@@RoboCircuits ok, is there a way to replicate it or can you make one to try one of my drones?
my email: jose_muxi@yahoo.es
Yes you can do
What is the cost of the ir sensor each ?
180 each
share code plz l will highly thankful
I fly nearly the same setup as you does and I am planning to to integrate collision avoidance too, thanks for your input :)
Watch the next part for improvement
@@RoboCircuits when will it come?
Which motors do you use?
Next week...
Readytosky 920kv motors

Will update
Hi the code cannot be access
Mail me at robocircuits@gmail.com
hallo i want to ask
how you connect the arduino to the apm?
are you connect it to telem or I2c?
glad if you willing to answer my question
thankss
There are multiple ways.... But you need to go through apm documentation .... And i never tried this
i need board for sensor
This one is hc sr04
I made a similar system, but I made a receiver, with arduino of 6 channels and the sonar integrated in it. I connect my receiver to a flight control. Independent.
I use a routine on the receiver to avoid collisions.
Hi! Can you tell me more about your project?I have tu make a Indoor positioning control system of a drone. My mail address: elena.alina1993@yahoo.ro! Thank you!
@@mecatronicaunitbv1693 it is very simple. just add to the receiver I made, a routine, which reads a couple of sonar and depending on the distance to any object. take the necessary action.
example .. a wall in front of the drone, brakes and stops the drone, direct on the receiver forward pulse.
The only thing I did was control the pulses towards the flight control
Sounds great!
Did it worked?
@@RoboCircuits
I had no problems, I placed the sonar, with a sponge covering the lateral noise, and I spread the two sensors with small cardboard tubes in them
@@RoboCircuits but I want to clarify, I only did it as an experiment I fly in fpv. and get bored of flying at low speed.
sonar is slow
CAN I GET THE CODE PLS PLS??
Dude, did you succesfully made it fly.? pls let me know. Best
No... I have my exams so... I am on a break
@@RoboCircuits when are you planning to make the second video (succesfull flying)

Is there any way to make something help me to protect from dron
Can you explain please
Is there any device that can help me to detect the drone if it is near of my house
I don't think so ... But i will search for it and let you know
Fc is pixhawk or arduino
Ardupilot
It is apm2.8 flight controller
Yes. It is
