Awww food from my homecountry! And you did it just like us swiss do it. I never did try the apples and broccoli though, will give it a try. Just one tip, dont just dip it, you need to stir it with your bread, it will mix up the cheese and oil and it wont stick to the pan on the bottom (which is originally swiss btw). Once you're almost done with the cheese mix in an egg and stir it with the remaining cheese. To digest better, drink black tea with it and have a Kirsch schnaps for the grown up Happy stirring and Gruezi from Switzerland, where its -11C right now
Michelle Lütke hi Michelle, i'm aware of that. :) I meant it in general, thats how we do it in Switzerland and those, like me, who dont drink alcohol, drink black tea. I guess i should have written it more clearly :-)
I think it’s cute how Olivia talks just like you when she’s vlogging, Bonnie. And Boston is sooo funny and sweet “I love the cheese, it taste kinda gross but I love it so much” lol
try fondue with fresh pineapple or/and darker bread and stir it when you put the fork into the cheese. Use the fondue fork only in the cheese, when its ready you take the bread of it en lay it on your plate. Try fondue with a beef stock and little vegetables, make little meatballs and chicken pieces you can stick on the fork and boil it a few minutes in the stock. The small vegetables will stick on the meat. Serve it with french bread and different sauces
You guys are honestly just the sweetest most caring family I've ever seen and I hope to have one like yours one day thanks for sharing your sweet moments online💖💖💖
Hi guys Its so fun seeing you eating fondue, i am Swiss and fondue is the most traditional food you can find in Switzerland. We eat it all the time... We use: 400gr gruyere cheese 400gr vacherin cheese 3dl white wine/apple juice 1 table spoon cornstarch. Melt everything in the caquelon(fondue pan) If it splits add 1 teaspoon of cornstarch mixed with a little splash of lemon juice an reheat slowly until its boiling again. Greetings from Switzerland!❄️🇨🇭❄️ Sarah
Sarah Uebersax Uuuh ja, bi geschter mit em Velo unterwegs gsi. Und mini schwöschter isch pöschtlerin. 😬 Aber jetzt wirds ja wieder wärmer. Schöne Tag no!
OMG I loveeee Fondue! I am from Switzerland (Fribourg). There is a cheese Fondue that comes from Fribourg (Gruyere cheese(swiss cheese) and a other swiss cheese) and it is sooooo good! Your family is so inspiring and wonderful!!
Your kiddos your soo adorable! Personality and cuteness!!! Also, a little cousin of mine just turned 12, and there was a cute little flashback photo of when he was 2, with his long curly blonde hair. And I stared at it for a good 5 minutes thinking how fast time goes by, and how I would give anything to reach back in time and have a few more minutes in those moments. So when you mentioned about cutting Lincoln's hair, well basically, I'm just a viewer that supports either decision you make! Hehe. But I can completely understand why enjoying and savouring these last baby curl moments would be so special! ❤❤
In Switzerland we use to eat fondue with bread and boiled potatoes. We usually cut them in squares 😊 when you prepare the cheese you can add a garlic clove cut in a half.
Hi Bonnie, cornstarch will bind the oil into the cheese mixture. Stir it into a bit of broth or white wine (not sure if you cook with alcohol?) The cheeses we mix for a smooth fondue is the hardcheese gruyere (pronounced: grooyair) and Emmental (a sweeter halfhard cheese). Pickles veggies and boiled salty potatoes go very well as a side dish. I have to try the apples next time! Looked very yummie!!
It is funny to see how you do fondue, given that we don't do it exactly like you guys do here in France (you must know our love for cheese haha), but Bonnie I definitely understand your enjoyment for fondue, it is absolutely wonderful ! Love you guys from France 😘🇫🇷
Bonnie your happiness is infectious, however my day is going your vlogs always make me laugh. Such a beautiful woman inside and out! Love the whole family, never stop vlogging! :)
bonnie the cheese that you use is buttery so once you finish making it lay paper towelling on top of it gently till all the butter comes off, also try using at least 2 different types of cheeses and a dash of wine for best fondue
Lincoln’s hair would look amazing like Cody’s it would be adorable, my son had beautiful curls when someone said what a beautiful little girl, I took him home and he had a Mohawk done, and loved it. X
Bonnie I watch your whole side of the family and every time I watch their vlogs and they always make me laugh! Don’t give Lincoln a hair cut his hair is so cute!! Now I’m telling my mom to get me fondue next time going to Sams😂❤️Also we went to Sams Club last weekend and we saw those 9ft floats and were getting a flamingo one for my grandma and grandpas pond!
The fondue looked yummy and I am sure it was. I know there was one person who criticized everything in this video and I do not ever want to be looked at like that. I do need to say that your little fondue dinner was so cute with the children, but I was so nervous with the long forks going in and out of the pot and trying to eat off them. They are to be used in the pot only and put your food on your plate and eat it with a regular fork. Dip several things, put on your plate and eat, that way, everyone is not trying to put their forks in at the same time. I honestly say this because I care and was afraid that someone was going to get jabbed with a long fork. Next time try chocolate with them and have pound cake, strawberries, pineapple chunks, apples, bananas etc, to dip in. I am sure they would all enjoy that. We used to do that on a cold winter night and my son loved it. Love you guys.💚🧡💙💛💜💚
Joyce as a person that was born and raised in switzerland I can tell you that it is fine to eat off the fork, but am still glad you said something. You should always be aware of how pointy fondue forks are and pay attention to the little ones. I grew up eating fondue and we never had an incident but it is still better to be aware than not to. @bonniehoellin you need to really dip the bread in the cheese and stir it so the oil is not a layer on top also so that the cheese doesn't stick to the pan. I btw love your original fondue pot. I had one like that growing up except for it had swiss traditional drawings on it. To this day fondue is my favourite thing in the winter time. We also had a tradition/game we played. The person who drops an apple or bread cube in the hot cheese has to run around the house barefoot through the snow. It is so funny and we play this game to this day. If you eat it and there is no snow the person who loses the bread cube or apple has to do a dare.😊 Have fun😊
Laura, thanks for the comment back and your method of doing the fondue was so cute and so funny. I appreciate it and I loved your little game. That is something else Bonnie and Joel could do with their kids that would make it all so much fun. I love fondue, but never do it anymore because I am alone and no longer have my pot. Wish I lived near you and could join the fun.
Joyce Well my husband and son are not very fond of fondue so I don't really get to eat it a lot but take every chance I get to eat it. :-) I hope you find a fondue buddy closer to your home. Thank you for the nice comment back!:-)
Lincoln is positively the cutest toddler ever, he was so mad when you took the toys out of his room, now he's mad because you put them back. I think he didn't want to get in trouble, because deep down inside he knew he would want to get up and play with them. Lol but the CHEESE weighed him down.
My son is two and a half and has the exact hair as Lincoln . It kept getting in his eyes and I just couldn’t style it anymore lol it was a hot mess so we cut it just a little trim but it was still long and curly .
If that fondue is a bit mature tasting for the kiddos, you could try the DIY nacho cheese recipe that only has cheddar cheese, evaporated milk and corn starch. It's amazing! Definitely worth googling the recipe.
I have a trick for the fondue not to be so oily. It is oily because the cheese that is in there has its natural oil and its fats. When it is melted for a long period, the fat and the oil separates in the wine. Here's the trick; if you want it not to separate, toss the cheese in cornflour, then add it into the pot with the wine. That will for some reason help the fat and the oil stay together and not separate. I hope that helps.
I’m having fondue for dinner tonight.GREAT idea and it looks tasty. I’m trying it with my crockpot though since I don’t have a fondue pot and not worth it to buy one.
Oh man, watching this at 8am and I’m drooling hahaha looks SO good. My husband and I like to go to The Melting Pot for our anniversary but this would be fun to do at home! My kiddos (Elise and Lincoln) love cheese and I bet they would think it’s so fun too
You have to stir it when dipping the bread, and fyi; we swiss usually only do bread and potatoes (sometimes pears). But you can try to put mashed tomatoes or mushrooms in the cheese, that‘s super-yummy! go 🇨🇭!
Sometimes I watch Bonnie's videos & im like yea I could totally have 4 kids! Other times it's like umm maybe not that's a lot of work ahahaha But her kids are totally awesome!!
If I had a little boy with curls like Lincoln's hair, I'd definitely keep his curls as long as possible! 😍🤗👶 and make sure you bring a zip- lock bag when you do cut his locks. Love your funny family vlogs ❣💕💕💕💕
Aww what a lovely fun family day!! ☺️✌🏻 Bonnie, you are losing weight so fast; is it all from the juice cleanses? I am so impressed because you look so healthy and energetic doing it - could you do a video on how you stay healthy? I would love to see that 😁💚 Lots of love!! 💖💖 xxx
With our children when they were young and if they dropped their food off the fork, the rule was to kiss the person to their right :-) and now they are older but we still do it and now we are sharing this joy with our grandson :-) God bless
Proper fondue is you don't dip bread etc in it, you dip bread and stir around and around the cheese for 5-6 times before pulling out. that way your oil and cheese does not separate if everybody stirs.
I live in Austria in Europe and I have to say whenever I watch vlogs from the USA I am always impressed how friendly salesclerks are! When you order food and say you want a drink with it afterwards the only thing you get in Austria is an annoyed face... kind of sad!
I have to go buy a fondue pot now! This just looks like so much fun! Fun with family, friends, kids! Just love it! I have a chocolate fountain. So I could have two going. How fun! Have a great day!
It never ceases to amaze me how clear Lincoln's speech is, I just love hearing his conversations with all of you.
Awww food from my homecountry! And you did it just like us swiss do it. I never did try the apples and broccoli though, will give it a try.

Thank you!
They’re Mormon, they don’t drink alcohol.

I think it’s cute how Olivia talks just like you when she’s vlogging, Bonnie. And Boston is sooo funny and sweet “I love the cheese, it taste kinda gross but I love it so much” lol
Olivia’s mannerisms are IDENTICAL to Bonnie’s. So sweet, I remember looking up to my mama and wanting to do everything just like she did ☺️💕

I love Lincoln's hair! I think it matches him perfectly.
Your vlogs are getting better and better! The editing and overall confidence in what you’re doing is so great!
You also should try white grapes, carrots, cherrytomatoes and cucumber. Especially the white grapes taste amazing with the cheese
Joel! Your editing!! By far the best I watch on TH-cam... the little details... LOVE THEM and always makes me smile!
I can't wait for this months bloopers! They are HILARIOUS!!

zoe mifsud Or Apple Juice instead of wine....
yeah true cause i make it for adults but for the kids yeah apple juice could work
zoe mifsud Also cause they are mormons and don't drink alcohol, I think. Even though the alcohol would be all cooked out...
Hahahaha "that was not worth waiting for" so mean 😂
Right? That was so mean!
I agree
Lincoln’s hair would look amazing like Cody’s it would be adorable, my son had beautiful curls when someone said what a beautiful little girl, I took him home and he had a Mohawk done, and loved it. X

I loved the bit when Olivia and Cody were dancing and then she just threw him on the floor. 😆
I put my iPad down at 10:20 and heard a cut sound so I thought someone cussed. 😂😂😂😂 I’m subscribed!

Poor Boston!
Olivia and Cody always pick on him!
Not hate!!
Truly love you!
It kinda makes me wonder how many times Cody is probably mean to Olivia as well and she just shrugs it off and/or doesn't tell to avoid the drama...
LINCOLN IS GETTING SO BIG I CAN NOTTTTTTT WHEN HE SAID ‘WHATS THAT MOM’ I DIED
With our children when they were young and if they dropped their food off the fork, the rule was to kiss the person to their right :-) and now they are older but we still do it and now we are sharing this joy with our grandson :-) God bless
