You get bond fragment from Sommie for the first time you feed him and pet him, you just need to initiate the pet because your character will do the first step automatically, you can just spam the back button after that and voila, you got 100 bond frags. Reapplies after every battle

I agree... On Greataxes or Great Lances it does a fair bit. Give these weapons to a General or a Great Knight and the counter damage will often wipe the attack or leave them as an easy target on the next turn. Probably the only use for it.

    • @DemonVermin

Pretty much what I thought. If it lowers avoid, put them on weapons where you won’t be countered anyway. Otherwise give it to people who will never dodge anyway, so thats a win-neutral tradeoff.

A little late but the game is still new so it applies still as more people make their way through. I think Roy's engraving works amazing paired with Olwen's S ring with the skill Dire Thunder since you'll have a high might Thunder tome that is always going to be doubling. Something to consider as well.

For Roy's I put it on the heavy weapons that always go last. They're going to only be swinging once anyway, and if you're going to eat damage it's important to make that one swing as big as possible. This also pairs well with Roy's "Hold Out" ability. Since they can't get killed by that first strike. You can use this to put big hurt on bosses.

Each save file has it own 'seed' to determine when you get S rank bond rings. Say you have 6k bond fragments, save, create until you get an S, take note of the number of pulls until you get the S (ex 2nd 10 pull you get it 3 rings in) if you like the S ring cool, if you don't reload, repeat. The next S rank will be the previous build +10 so 23 in this example

In chapter 5 or 6 you get an emblem ring with a mass healing ability. Have the character use this ability to gain a huge amount of xp and SP for each damage ally that's healed. The sp is more important because you need it to inherit better skills.
Just be careful to have this ally far away from enemies or heal them immediately after because it takes a large chunk of HP to cast

Hey Tom, just found your channel. Your production quality is awesome! Just wanted to say that from what I can tell so far, you get bond fragments after a mission from the units that you brought into battle, and they all have voicelines about how well they did during the fight. Like for example, the MVP will say something like "Wow, I got a lot of them today, huh?" And then give you 150 bond fragments, while units that went underused or took a lot of damage might say "I almost got wiped out today. Guess I have to train harder!" And give you 50 bond fragments.
    I don't know if that's 100%, but it's what I've seen so far!

I used Roy's on the Heavy Lance and gave it to my boi Louis to make him an absolute beast. One of the highest growth rates for Def and Bld in the game helps not only shed some of the extra weight but Heavy weapons also go last, and the massive defense and health pools mean unless it's magic, he laughs before crushing you under his lance.
The alternative pick would be Mauvier but you get him so late and let's be honest. Louis just got that drip like no other.

Most important little secret is that Emblem Rings/Bracelets are unequipped in the arena, but bond rings are not. So, if you want to also gain SP in the arena, unequip a character's emblem and give them a bond ring during training. You will be able to use the S-Rank bond ring skills in arena as well, so Owain + Thunder = instant win.

something to note about arena battles - when you do your first playthrough you wont know what units you need or what units you want to swap into later in the game. very often you will get to a certain point with a unit and think they'd be better going down a magic user route or making them cavalry. a big example for me was Anna, who in her starting class doesn't benefit her skills for gold (axe users have far less lck than mages) and even makes her super squishy without any attack gains.
when you reclass a unit they drop back to level 1 (including stats). for me, using Anna in the arena to gain levels was useful (for level up stat boosts) but then when I decided to respec her all that arena training was worthless.
however - she kept all the supports gained (including emblem ones).
there is a point in the later game when the supports from emblems will be important (you get proficiencies) which let you respec to advanced classes. I would suggest using your arena fights on units you know are set down a particular route (like the lords and divine dragon units)

    • @Xayentist
      @Xayentist ปีที่แล้ว

The alternative is to second seal them after 20 which is what I did. Leveled Anna to 20 on Axe second sealed her to mage and not only kept the stats she had at level 20 but when she resealed she had more stat total at level 1 mage than level 20 axe. Now I will go to 20 on mage then switch her to Sage in the end.
Take longer but she has more survivability from the stats because of it. Alternatively, you can reverse the order and switch to mage then 20 to sage 20 then second seal her to sage 1 again but it's all the same imo.

    • @majnuker
      @majnuker ปีที่แล้ว

@@Xayentist Actually, you should be master classing as early as you can. It doesn't impact level XP requirements at all or stat growth. Then you second seal at level 20 afterwards. Using on a Longbow or other 3+ ranged weapon where you're unlikely to be hit.
Using on smash weapons for maximum damage.
Using on a strong (preferably ranged) heavy weapon on a beefy tank to use on defense.

My takes on the tips. I played on hard for the whole game.
Tip 1: I found bond rings to be terrible compared to Emblem Rings. Even in the early game, its better to use fragments on engraving and bond levels.
Tip 2: I never swapped too much because I used bond fragments on leveling. When I did, I was doing it in the mid to late game, and also during a spoiler that I won't mention
Tip 3: Good tip! 2 good examples for emblem weapons key to strategy I found were Lyn and Ike. They get awesome weapons later!
Tip 4: I always did this, and going around the somniel is a blast! It really depends on how much time you have, but I would always cook, give gifts, go to the arena, go the the ring chamber, and do Alfreds training. I would also check the shops, fish, and pick up items. If you don't want to pick up items every time, pick them up until you find the spirit gem, which is there after every fight I think. Also, I kind of fell off Alfreds training since its time consuming for minimum rewards.
Tip 5: Good tip! I wish the arena was 5 after every battle, because of the smal exp it gives you, even if you win. Also, I heard this somewhere so I don't know if its true, but apparently you can take a units weapon to not match with them. If so, you won't run into a unit you one shot, thus getting more exp.
Tip 6: Good tip! I constantly forgot this, but I would recommend Sigurd, Byleth, and Marths engravings most.
Tip 7: Good Tip! I wish the game mentioned this, because I thought the pasture was bad. Now I've filled it up with dogs and I'm forging every somniel visit!
Tip 8: Good tip! I hate how the ones who give fragments say the same thing and lock you out of their unique dialogue for the map, so I just talk to the bubble ones, grab the items and animals, then leave. I do talk to a few, just to see though. Its also funny you get 10 fragments from units that want to be used lol.
Tip 9: Good tip! I love giving gifts to everyone, its really enjoyable to walk around the somniel to find them! It is quite annoying how little money you have to get the gifts though. For supports, I recommend the 4 crowned nobles with alear and eachother, hortensia with everyone, and Yunaka with everyone. Yunaka supports are amazing!
Tip 10: I just do the bare minimum. Feed him once, pet him once. That gets 200 fragments.
My personal tip: Always check your achievements, you get thousands of fragments that way!
If you want spoiler tips from me, reply to my comment. I'm just an idiot who felt like mentioning my thoughts on the tips, thanks for reading if you did though.

I don't know, +1 to four stats isn't bad. An extra point of defense and strength can really come in handy for a lot of backup characters. For everyone else it's pretty much useless, but it is good for fighters and cavaliers and it's the only way to get sp if they're not equipped with emblem rings.

The best method I found to safely (and quite quickly) power level a unit is to heal repeatedly with staves (Miccaiah gives you staves up to C, so that helps everyone). then leave an enemy unit alive that can damage, but not kill one of your units, and just heal it every turn, there is no cap (well at least I haven't reached turn 99 yet with this method). My Framme already class changed, and was level 20 in the chapter you get the first master seal.

Just finished Engage and man, the story was just crap, no enjoyment at all, which could be negated but it was pretty bad when it affects battles, like the amount of times you face the same enemy who just slip away after you beat them was so annoying, mostly as it was really just because they could not be bothered actually making characters that would die >>
The engage mechanic took up so much of the actual gameplay, while kind of interesting it was also super bloated, really missed out on past mechanics, like, shove or rescue etc.
Still the actual gameplay is still rather nice but erg, the story was bin worthy and had a huge lack of enemy character.
