I have no idea, but this sounds as a sequel of Hanna Hunt. "You and me, we got our own sense of time" --> Hanna Hunt "And then i remembered a time" --> I Don't think "Lord I can see the bright lights back in Dallas" "And we glided on through Waverly and Lincoln" "Til me and Hannah Hunt saw Crawling vines and weeping willows" "Like the poison red berries to die on the vine"
i think we're all okay with vamp weekend doing a cover album of bob dylan, maybe throw in some joni mitchell, carole king, emmylou harris, bruce springsteen, why not this is cheesy to say, but it heals! love how they approached this song with fuzzy lullabyish sound
I always imagine a man, around his mid to late forties sitting down with some old friends of his in an old diner. They're joking around, when he looks out the window and a memory of a younger him and a girl he dated walking outside the diner flashes. He pauses, and his friend in front of him pulls him back. They continue for a while but it's getting late and the others slowly leave him alone. He glances out again after his last friend leaves, sees more of the memory. They're about to kiss, then he shakes his head slightly, and leaves alone
I just realized this is a cover after downloading it a few days ago after buying their album on iTunes. Didn't realize they had 3 other songs on another "deluxe" japanese version. I have them now ... oh the tribulations of living in this digital age
DoitForTheLolz1 cd sales still make up a significant % of record industry profits in Japan so labels starting putting bonus tracks on cds in Japan, I guess rather than in a market where no one will pay for them
@@dairebeare7839 The Link in the description only gives me download options, not an option to buy a CD. I simply thought it was strange that bonus tracks need to have "Japan" on it if it's not even exclusive. Idk why you assumed I didn't already know this.
@@DoitForTheLolz1 they mean that in Japan specifically cd sales are especially relevant to profits, more so than in other major markets, therefore in Japan specifically they attempt to incentivize consumers to buy the cd's
@@patrickfors815 I understand what they mean, but they're aren't 100% correct with their information anyways and neither are you. CD albums in Japan are sold by local retailers for around 30-60% more than they could be bought by consumers via import from US/EU. The inclusion of a bonus track was developed to discourage Japanese consumers from buying an import, as they would then get less content. There is an added bonus in Japanese distributors being able in some circumstances to sell their version of the album to completionists in the US/EU. You both seem to misunderstand my original comment as well which is just a humorous observation, and decided to flex information you only half knew about because you assumed I was uninformed on the subject.

I don't think much about her no more
Seldom if ever does she cross my mind
Yesterday's gone, lord, it's better forgotten
Like the poison red berries to die on the vine
This morning at dawn, lord, I pulled in to town
Had some coffee and talked to some old friends of mine
Laughing at the good times they remembered
And then I remembered a time
Lord I can see the bright lights back in Dallas
As yesterday moves like a dream through my mind
I didn't suppose that I'd ever forget her
And you know it took such a long time
But I don't think much about her no more
Seldom if ever does she cross my mind
Yesterday's gone and it's better forgotten
It's like a poison red berry that clings to the mind
One of my favorite covers from VW. In case you didn't know, written by Mickey Newbury 1969.
This one HURTS
yeah but he forgot her! You can too
Dara Otl //unreliable narrator time\\ He remembered her enough to write a song about remembering good times. ;)
@@Callumsmith9898 touché..
I feel like this song connects to their other song Step from their previous album... i know this is a cover but the melody connects in some weird way
Yeah it hurts ears...Mickey Newbury original is so deeper than this lullaby
In the metro with no headphones, didn’t care much! I heard this song keeping my phone close to my ears had the best time
And thought about a guy who will have a long time forgetting me

Putting off really strong Bob Dylan vibes with this one.

Great song, it has some Sunday Morning by The Velvet Underground vibes
it's a tammy wynette song
Exactly! This also came to my mind.. this band has a mixture of old and new which got me..
This is a great sound for them Hope there’s some more in there next album
I wouldn't be surprised if that was Danielle on backup. Her and Ezra make a beyond-amazing duo.
Love the cover😭
