An unapologetic song about what depression is really like is "Given Up" - it cries out Chester's desperation. But what makes it remarkable is a 17 second metal scream that is absolutely incredible. His vocals are unmatched!
+1 for Given Up. That scream is insane!
Yesssssss!!
someone who would never take his own life - no matter what!!!
Reactions to this song should always be done to some of the good live versions, they are so much better than studio. Live in Clarkson is 💯 👌
Agreed
Awesome reaction guys! So glad y’all enjoyed it. “Faint” should be added to your list for the next LP reaction.
I concur.
Roll Tide!
Roll Tide!
And "lying from you"
Please if you going to request song make sure you do them justice and request live versions 😅 Faint - Live rock am ring
Always better than studio
RIP Chester. He was someone who suffered from depression and you heard it in his music. Gotta hear "Numb." That song will definitely make you feel his pain and something some can relate to.
Yes RIP Chester… Linkin Park was one of my favorite bands when I was a teenager in the 2000s, but I lost interest in them after this album. Meteora was their last “good album”
Linkin Park is the BEST...This is an amazing song..R.I.P Chester...please react to their song "NUMB"
Chester (R.I.P.) had so much energy. He was a totally honest artist that put everything into it. I'm so happy that I can say that I got to see them. They rocked it! Their songs are painfully honest but motivational. They don't have a bad song.
The Linkin Park rabbit hole is so deep. "Papercut", "One Step Closer", "Points Of Authority", "Crawling" & "What I've Done" are just a few of the gems you'll find with this amazing band.
Breaking the Habit always brings me to tears.
Love linkin park! Rip Chester Bennington
Yes
Linkin Park was a jolt to the music scene when they first came out. They blended the genres in the best way. KROQ in Southern California first started playing them. They had them playing parking lots at Best Buy’s. You just knew that they were going to be big.
KROQ one of the best things to ever come out of LA!
YES!! ⚡️ They opened a whole nother door! It was beautiful too! RIP Chester forever missed 💔
I have a voice acting background and have to say that Chester's on stage performance as well as his voice as a front man (Dead by Sunrise), has been such an inspiration for more than 20 years now. The vocal training was really tough, sometimes without noticeable results for months but artist like him and the great Kevin Conroy are an impulse to not give up. You almost saw me as Leon in those new RE games :) If you're looking for a similar sound I would recommend Earshot - 'Wait', Spineshank - 'New Disease', Incubus -'Certain Shade of Green', Reveille - 'Inside Out', Primer 55 - 'Loose',
Chester Bennington (vocals, lyrics) and Mike Shinoda (rap, keyboards) at the top of their game. One of the best from a band that doesn't get enough credit.
If you want hype songs, the first album "Hybrid Theory" is exactly what you're looking for.
100% right. Every track is great
@@davidrose9032 Except "Cure for the Itch"...
every song
@@baron7755 not in my opinion
Hype theory
There's no one like Chester.
What an iCON(Totally CONtraDICting, his(Giving-Up on)
You having a stroke while typing?@@manueldumont3709
He's one of my all-time favorites for both songwriting and vocal ability.
Closest I've found since is Noah Sebastian from bad omens. Know them?
Miles kennady
I agree he will be missed 😢. Without him they won't be the same.
RIP Chester Bennington
There are quite a few Linkin Park songs that will get you pumped. Points of Authority, One Step Closer, Lying From You, By Myself, A Place for My Head (especially the live in Texas version) and Faint are all great songs to get the blood pumping. Linkin Park is an essential 00s band speaking as someone who was in high school when they debuted...not a bad song on their first two albums...definitely worth going down the rabbit hole :)
I would DIE to see these 2 react to some Live in Texas!!!
One Step Closer definitely does it for me!
'Faint' is an awesome pump up song for game day!
Numb, Faint, What I've done, Crawling, New Divide are all good songs to do next.
RIP Chester. He tried so hard to overcome so much in his life. This song is truly a swan song. Just so sad but he left an incredible amount of music.
You must review Linkin Park more often than once a year. There are so many good songs to enjoy. Songs to check out: Breaking the Habit, One Step Closer, Numb, Crawling, What I've Done, and Given Up. There are a lot more but these will keep you busy! Lead singer is Chester Bennington. He was a phenomenal singer and a really genuinely great person but had his demons and is still missed.
Chester’s voice was simply amazing. The way he portrayed every deep feeling was so intense, is hard not to relate to what was said on every Linkin Park song. Next one I would recommend is “Papercut” from the Album Hybrid Theory. My personal favorite… love ya guys!! Thanks for the great reaction!
"One Step Closer" is another great pump up song from these guys.
Rest In Paradise Chester you are missed so much! Most of their songs I can so relate too. Real life!! Deep deep lyrics ….
Yes, he is missed so much, his son is a rapper I can't wait to hear from him! #rip Chester Benninton - Jay and Amber you have to listen to all of their albums and listen to songs back to back!
“Crawling” by Linkin Park is soooooo good. Please react to this one Jay and Amber!
THIS was the song with which I purged negative energy from my body for years. Rock it out...
Linkin Park is great! Their lyrics are always very deep. Chester’s voice is amazing, Mike Shinoda is the one rapping, the blend between both is very unique. I love them!
Mr. Bennington ripped off the band-aid and exposed his soul. Many empathize with his pain. Bless his soul.
Rip Chester
Damn I miss him.👼👼👼☦☦☦
Love Linkin Park. I had the pleasure of seeing them in concert before Chester Benningtons passing. They put on an amazing show!
Linkin Park knocks it out every time! You should check out another group called P.O.D. Their song, "Alive" is sure to get you hyped! 💯👍🔥
Yes, an amazing song.
P.O.D. Boom is 🔥
Alive and of course "Youth of a nation"
@@ninsnumber1fan - Yes, another great banger.
Satellite is fire too
RIP Chester Bennington.
OMG, more Linkin Park please!!! I didn’t pay attention to them until really recently, and they’re so good.
Love Linkin Park. Keep their music playing !!!! ✊
Linkin park-Crawling,Castle of Glass,Burn it Down,What ai've done
Pump it up with Linkin Park! React to "What I've Done" or "Numb" next. Thanks.😎
I was turned on to Linkin Park by my sons in the 90’s, live there sound, rap and grunge all in one, they had so much to say!!! RIP Chester! Miss your awesome voice!
nu metal or rap metal this song
Grunge? No. At all. Nu metal.
Reminds me of my son who passed away !! Even though I showed him all my music , he shared all of he’s music with me!!! 😢❤😊 RIP David
Mike Shinoda with the rapping and Chester Bennington with the singing are the perfect duo for rap/singing and add that to hard rock or metal. LP had the perfect music combination for my taste anyway and I’m freaking 68 years old! 😂. I miss Chester so much. He passed away in 2017 I believe. They also switched roles in some of their songs where Chester rapped and Mike sang and sometimes back and forth in the same song. They were just so creative and unique. Deep lyrics most of the time and fun music. Very passionate at times. They loved their fans. All around just a wonderful band. ❤️
Not sure if you have already done the Linkin Park/JayZ mash up album. 6 incredible tracks that are a MUST view!
Chester's voice was awesome. It's hard to listen to these lyrics knowing that he took his own life after years of battle with depression. But it's important to talk about it because lots of folks are struggling. I suggest that you check out the tribute concert for him. His wife's speech is very powerful. R.I.P. Chester and thank you for all the great music 🙏
There are so many great ones, but 2 YOU MUST listen to are Numb and Given Up. Lyrically, Amber is going to be blown away. The bass, the metal, & in Given Up, there's a 17 second stretch that is going to BLOW YOUR MIND! Jay these 2 will definitely get you going!
I'm fairly sure this was the first LP song that drew my attention to them, I bought the CD, and was really impressed with the whole album. The album had already been out for a few years by then, but it came into my life at a time that I needed it.
Hybrid Theory is straight up and album full of bangers. It's one of those albums that was awesome through and through
“Given up” needs to get a reaction purely so we can see Amber react to the scream!!
Rip to a legend. Gone but never forgotten , Chester ❤.
So many memories each of these songs by LP.
All of Hybrid Theory is amazing, any of them would be a great pick. I would recommend Papercut or crawling next.
Check out Linkin Park - Waiting for the End. One of their best tracks.
I feel blessed that I was able to see them in concert. One of the very few bands that sounded EXACTLY like their cd when they were live. RIP Chester ❤😔
Chester is an amazing artist.. when he passed we lost a great legend imo. Heavy is my favorite song by them. U def need to hear that. RIP Chester...😢😢
Totally thrilled you guys got back to Linkin Park. You might consider checking out "Lying from You" off the Meteora CD. Killer guitar riff ... and a rap ... on top of a thumping beat. Their song "Breaking the Habit" helped me through some rough patches after I lost my wife 3 years ago. RIP Chester and my princess Stephanie.
You guys listen to all the greats. Definitely one of my favorites. RIP Chester
RIP Chester
LOL Rob pausing it in the middle of Chester’s soulfelt bridge 🤣🤣🤣
Check out the band Fort Minor song Remember the Name. Great hype song.
This is from the best Linkin Park album! Meteora is FILLED with absolute bangers! It was a moment in time when that album dropped. Pick any song from that album and you won't go wrong. Damn, I'm off to listen to it again.
The lyrics touch your heart would probably be even more so if you remember her at the lead singer *Chester Bennington* committed taking his life 😥
I LOVE Linkin Park! Chester was amazing! I always would listened to Linkin Park, Evanescence, and Avril Lavigne all through school. RIP Chester he was a Legend! ❤️
"Faint" and "Breaking the Habit" are my most faves from them!
Yes!! Thank you for exploring this band! Love this scene!
The older I get the more I appreciate LP. This one has always been a favorite. Mike Shinoda ❤ let's not forget this amazing dude.
Every Time I'm listening to a linking park song, I'm bleeding inside for Chester. Loved him and the band so so much. Linking park is still my favorite band.
You guys haven't dove into them enough!! They are incredible!! And Mike raps quite a bit in their songs ❤
Gone way to young. Your music will live on forever always missed rest in heaven chester 👌
A couple of the members, including Mike Shinoda spun off Fort Minor. There song "remember the name" is my favorite "get hyped" locker room song. When I was coaching youth football, I had to use the clean version!
Linkin Park is FIRE! One of my top 5 favorite bands of all time.the late great Chester Bennington on those ripping vocals is one of the best things ive ever heard
Fort Minor is a must
i listened to this song back in 2006 in middle school. i’m 32 now. RIP Chester 😩
Rock music took a big hit when Chester died. Linkin Park is one of those iconic bands that helped define the 2000s
Since you liked the vibe of that song, why don't you check out Linkin Parks breakout hit "One Step Closer", the one that made them famous
Can we give Shinoda some props as a songwriter? He wrote nearly all of it, both lyrics and music.
Chester was such a great vocalist. I cannot think of one single song that he did that I didn't like. Awesome review guys.
Been away for a while, but so happy to be back! Love you guys! ROB SQUAD!!!!!! ❤
Rip Chester.. loved every song of this group. The wall of sound guitars,Chester and Mike,Mr Hahn ..magic combo.
Linkin Park were amazing, and Chester Bennington was a lyrical genius. You can tell every word he sang he meant. You don’t get that nowadays. Other songs of theirs you should check include: “Feint”, “A Place For My Head” and “What I’ve Done”
Chester Bennington was a gift that we had for a very short time. All of his songs , the lyrics the emotions all a prelude of what Chester was going through. RIP Chester
I've never been a fan of Rap, but I've always loved Linkin Park ad their musicality.
one of my fave songs. so relatable.
Mega song.
Always immortal, Chester.
Yes Mike Shinoda is a rapper. Linkin park is unique and blended together. Metal x rap x and hitting high notes signing. Rip Chester Bennington.
Castle of Glass is how I got into Linkin Park and it is still one of my favs by them. It has such a deep meaning that many can relate with and sounds so....unique. I recommend Castle of Glass by Linkin Park.
My fave by LP! Try, "Nobody's Listening" from same album! You won't be disappointed. Love to you and your fam!!
God how was it missed ? Poor Chester the pain he must lived through. A cry for help ! Just like numb , crawling and many more . What if . RIP dear Chester. If you feel this kind of pain reach out . There will always be someone that loves willing to listen
There’s something so unique, so captivating, and so heartbreaking about a Linkin Park song. My favorite song and video of theirs is “Numb”, I hope you check it out! (Update: not the remake/sample with Jay-Z, just the straight Linkin Park version)
This is one of my favorite songs from them❤❤
i wish chester could’ve realized he belonged in all our hearts that he touched and helped thru his music. sadly sometimes our demons have the loudest voices in our heads. much love chester.
My favorite song by Linkin Park. When Chester died I played this song on repeat like I had done many times before when feeling down.
This is one of the greatest bands of all time. Nu Metal was king in the early 2000's.
Chester just wanted to be loved. Every song the man sings is a cry for help. 😢
SUNFLOWER BY CELIO & KOPONO ,I FIRST HERD THIS SONG WHEN I WAS 17 IN HAWAII IM NOW 56 AND I STILL ENJOY IT.
Thanks for bringing this song to us. I've not heard it before and it's really awesome.
I am in my 60' s and I love this music.
Rip Chester. I thank God I seem them years before he passed. Great band
Such a damn great song! Such a damn great band! Love it! Thank you, Jay and Amber.
My favourite LP song is The Catalyst. I just love it.
Yes more Linkin Park!
Try: Papercut
A Place For My Head
Faint
Numb
There lots more of course
Another band from around the same time is Incubus. Try: Nice To Know You
Wish You Were Here
Warning
Are You In (this one’s groovy)
Just to name a few 😊
should peep Mike Shinoda spin off group Fort Minor also banging
Listening to this after Chester Bennington’s suicide, the song takes on a whole new meaning. He want to heal, he wants to feel. So very sad 😢. Such a talented artist and such a great song. And such a devastating loss 😢
Takes me right back to listening to this on my disc-man in the school bus on my way to middle school.
This is a catalog you totally need to dig into. Chester Bennington (RIP) had a way of expressing how so many of us feel. Mike Shinoda is also a master with the rap. Not sure what you've reacted to do far, but Crawling and One Step Closer are definitely reaction worthy.
Thank you Linkin Park for all these real issue mental health songs . Thank you Chester. You are missed bro .
those gundams are clean af
