Is it advisable for an international student to join a Day 1 CPT program for their first Master’s degree? If so, could you suggest reputable universities offering CPT for a Master’s in Information Systems (STEM program) with good recognition and accreditation? Additionally, please include information about the risk of receiving a Request for Evidence (RFE) and how to mitigate it.
If you're interested in a free consultation send us an email: asiantalkteam@gmail.com We're happy to recommend some programs based on your background. Regarding RFE, check out the new video: th-cam.com/video/hEK5kBcpfW8/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared
MBA with the more popular schools are your number 1 option. Look for STEM concentrations. Any other questions, feel free to email me asiantalkteam@gmail.com
Thank you for such an informative video. I'm admitted to the University of the Cumberlands. I'm studying on an H4 visa but will transfer to F1 next semester. I am worried about the impact of the university's reputation on future OPT and H1B. I do not wish to violate CPT OPT rules and do only what the visa allows. I'm in Florida and planning to travel for residency classes. Do you think there will be any issues in the future?
Hi there, thank you for your comment. Remember to save the documents you prepared for H4 to F1 change of status, just in case it got asked for in the next immigration application (F1 to H1B). Universities do have a reputation to US immigrations, but it should not affect whether you're gonna pass your H1B or OPT application or not. The most important things are the legitimacy of the program and yourself following all requirements as a F-1 student should. So like you said, do the assignment, go to residency classes on schedule, you should be good!
Thank you so much for the informative video. I met the admissions counselor of Westcliff University to inquire about Day 1 CPT and I am the resident of Georgia. So, he mentioned that I wont be able to apply to westcliff because there are certain states where they don't offer admissions. Can you pls suggest specific universities which provide admissions to Georgia residents? Thank you.
Hi Dear, Thank you for the video that gives immense knowledge on CPT. I have got an I20 from Ottawa University, Kansas for the DBA program(May 2024) that allows day 1 CPT. I would like to know more about the University and its Day 1 CPT and what are the chances of approving F1 visa? Thank you.
Hi Thanks for the info, do you think going from west coast to harrisburg will be redflag later? because the work location and study location is not really close? But for my major which is architecture, based on my research the program in Harrisburg is the best fit. I wanted to get your comments on this. thanks alot!
Course and Job description alignment is also a key for lowering risk for the future. The uniqueness and competitiveness of the program itself can be a strong reasoning for choosing the program, even located far from where you are.
Hi Amini! My Major is also Architecture and Interior can you please help me where can I see the masters programme of harrisburg university in Arch or can you tell me some universities which I can apply to for these majors. Thanks.
YES! It's easy and straight forward, some of the universities would still have the option for you to start CPT from the beginning. Connect with us: goelite.com/youtube/goelite-free-consultation
If I enroll in a Day 1 CPT program and secure a permanent job, how does that work? If I start my course in September with Day 1 CPT and it is a permanent job, what should I consider? If I work full-time for 12 months under CPT, I understand that I won't be eligible for OPT. In that case, what is the recommended plan? Until I convert from H4 to F1, I won't be eligible for CPT, correct? How long does it typically take to change my visa status from H4 to F1 within the country?
You could apply for CPT in the middle of the program and get work authorization. It's not a requirement to use CPT or have a job by start of class for most univeresties. Part-time cpt does not affect your OPT eligibility. If no opt, changing to an H1B can also allow you to continue to work. H4 to F1 without premium processing is 3 to 6 months according to guidelines.
For day 1 cpt, completing 2 courses every semester is enough and compliant to regulations. However, when talking about online schools, things can get tricky, the most being an online school cannot issue F1 student visa/status. I need context on which school you're talking about.
Great question! Yes to use CPT you have to be an F-1 student, and from H-4 to F-1 requires the change of status I-539 application. I made a video about COS feel free to check it out! th-cam.com/video/1Bgw5bHlEHE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ulrCQCP7v4lpMwjp The timeline is normally, apply for school - get offer letter - complete payment and get I-20 - apply for COS - approved and start school with premium processing the whole timeline could be as fast as 2 months, without it it could be somewhere from 4 to 6 months
Saint Peter's is a great option if you work in tech or business sector. They have 2 CPT programs both stem, Business Analytics and Data Science. There's a live session to learn more about SPU:th-cam.com/users/liveIoOBPHUMKRU?feature=shared
Sure, they have two campuses in Florida and Chicago, as well as Master's and Doctoral programs. I would consider if my background and location fit well with what they offer. For more support on finding the right university: asiantalkteam@gmail.com
